    Awesome content, thank you! I tried printing the 50 sized this am - all went well except the spring clips on the 2 moving pieces. Any tips for helping with that? I printed vertical/similar to how you have the 35 models sized, and did not use support (didn't look like you did on those 35's shown in the video). 100% infil, printing with PLA on a X1 carbon.

    @@justingorvett1062 Yeah you are right, that must be it. And think they put the tool release button and the light that indicates the spindel is spinning on the box that goes around the motor on them rack and pinion machines. (like at 10:05)

    @@justingorvett1062 Im not sure but I just assumed that machine was a linear motor machine like mine, but linear motors on a budget machine doesnt sound right. I think that specific machine might be some early hybrid.. perhaps. Im just guessing :) EDIT: Looking at it again, i can see on the Y axis that it IS a linear motor machine. EDIT again: I now realize there are machines with quad linear rails on Y (like mine) so they have the same bellows and look like linear machines but are infact rack and pinnion. But since this specific machine is a "fast" machine with a cutting head and the x axis motor cant be seen , its probably a linear one :)

    Not sure there is a annealing step, didnt see one atleast. You could ask Kimla bout that :) Im no expert but the steel is 16mm thick, annealing my almost 7tons 8 meter machine would take like close to a week ? And im not sure how much it would really do, there needs to be some crazy stresses going deep into this type structure to affect it to a point where its a problem i guess.. but im really no expert on that. The machines turn out to be very precise atleast :) Btw, i see you put a chair on a ABB robot, did you run a computer to it for flight simulation or rally games ? That would be crazy cool thing to do!

    Its some typ of phenolic. Popular for machines like these due to it beeing so stable especially during temperature changes.

    Not sure which specific one u'r tinking of but r&p have their place, very cost effective and good for fast wood cutting machines among others. Having said that, there are also some very serious metal cutting machines out there with rack and pinion(some DMG MORI), but cost goes up quick with dual motors and such for preload ect. For the higher end machines Kimla make their own linear motors (like i have one my machine). They are pretty unbeatable on all points. No problem with dust, great speed, precision, longevity and super low maintenance! Then they also add dual linear guides on both sides of the gantry with 8 blocks to increase the stiffness and be able to handle the acceleration/deceleration. Not sure what Kimla thinks about ballscrews on routers but ballscrews on long travel machines is quite tricky? And they come with their own drawbacks like screw whip (unless you rotate the nut) and ball screw stretch, relatively low speed and low acceleration(due to the flex/stretch). Maybe mostly it doesnt like dust too much and they are hard to cover. Shopsabre offer ballscrews on quite long machines tho. US made machines, they have some videos on youtube here. EDIT: I always planned to retrofit my old multicam to ball screws (2x3 meter machine), i never got to it but i did buy C5 3232 screws. So screws will always have a place in my heart due to the precision you can achieve as a hobbyist (nowadays), 10-15 years ago them screws would have cost 3x what i gave for that machine. :)

    For routers id say most are probably into woodworking one way or another(they have so many more options and variations of machines for wood and automated panel processing), then theres the knife addition thats for carboard,gaskets or textilecutting.They offer dedicated high speed knife cutting machines that are popular in sign business. For the metal industry there's mainly lasers, waterjet and ofcourse the mills. They also do custom machines for specific applications. I use my Kimla router for 99% aluminium processing and 1% plastic. Mainly for the defence industry. Thanks for watching! :)

    Yeah the new facility is for their laser machine production. Dont know the numbers but i'd bet thats their bread n butter. They said the aim was to go from 1 laser a week to one a day.

    Hi. Easiest way is probably msg ulundateknik @ instagram. But if its about feeds and speeds then a comment here probably suffice :) What tools and what type of aluminium are you cutting ? I cut mainly 5754 which is soft and i run alot of small tools. You want to produce big chips even with small tools, to keep the heat away, and go with dlc coated single flutes. I mostly run Crown norge single flute coated tools (kimla sells them aswell). a 2mm diameter (6mm flute length on all) i run at about 22mm/s, a 3mm i run at 35mm/s and 4mm at 40mm/s . 6mm at 50-70mm/s depending on the part. All at 24k rpms. If using a 3mm then i got 1 pass on 2,3,4mm alu and 2 pass on 5mm. Using a 4mm endmill i run 1 pass on 2,3,4,5mm. 6mm endmill 1 pass up to 8mm alu. For 6082 you might want to back off a tiny bit, and 7075 a bit more.

    Hmm.. you have an imported NC engraving toolpath? maybe you could place a rectangle or something where the nc code engraving is and surface probe that then apply that to the engraving nc stage ? Side note. I sometimes mix imported nc and pccam's toolpaths so the 3d features are machined using fusion's nc code and then use pccam for engraving and other stuff. Just need to make sure the 0 point is the same for fusion and pccam. just an idea. I'll do more pccam videos soon, i got a software update so there are some new stuff to show :)

    Awesome stuff, both automation and work. I've been following you for a while and your channel is a gem. Can you give some details if possible about how you code the software and protocols used to communicate with stations. for example I have a mach3 based manual toolchange cnc router and use modbusTCP and node-red to automate stuff like dust collection, telegram messages for job status etc. Stuff like air compressor and dust collector are controlled by Esp32's over MQTT. I write scripts in mach3, some js in node-red and some python for Fusion 360. But Mach3 is giving me hell, so i am preparing to move on to LinuxCNC.

    Hey thanks. Reading your message really brought be back to the early days! I also fought with mach3 and linux cnc and everything in between. I started off with a radio send/recieve system (with validation) but have moved on to Shelly units. Plan was to use mqtt aswell but using http requests still, might move on later. For the extractor i just use a pressure switch connected to the pneumatic actuators that control the suction cup, when those pressurize (i.e lower) the switch latches and a signal is sent(still using the radiotransmitter) For the air compressor i either just send a httprequest to that shelly unit to turn on the specific output, or the light that indicated that the spindle is turning may also do it. I need to trigger local AHK scripts remotely so i have a light weight webserver running which allows me to send say "192.168.1.422/send/runmyscrupt.ahk" to the computer controlling the router for example. To trigger the robot to run specific programs i got 3 shelly units in the cabinet that can enable/disable inputs on the robot controller, they also work for the robot to trigger its output that goes to a shelly unit so that it may send the signal to the router that it is finished. All rgb lighting everywhere is controlled by shelly rgbw2 units, makes it really simple to get visual feedback for whats going on.

    Not sure there is one? Maybe kimla has them, not sure. The bottom platter(with the ethanol jets) is my own 3dprinted version though.

    this is phenomenal information. your system looks like it doesn't use brushes and just keeps the inlet very close to the workpiece. is that correct? is there a difference between a pressure foot and a dust shoe?@@randomrouting

    @@coldhardcad8882 No brushes, The bottom plate on mine has tiny holes that eject pressurized air so that it may float on top of the material beeing cut. My machines original plate is made of stainless steel so i have 3d printed mine so it wont scratch the aluminium if/when the sheet gets cut up to the extent that there is no surface left to float on. The inlet hole is 65mm, just big enough to let the HSK63F tool holders trough and there are some threaded holes in the side of the unit that you may plug/unplug to adjust the underpressure/airflow in the cup. The Axys one i think is available in two versions, one with a "blue donut" which is just a PTFE (or other low friction plastic) and slides on top of the material, and the other version you manually set the hight. When using system like this you should consider that the airflow is quite restricted and therefor low, you would not do well with a typical woodworking dust collector system. What you want is a high pressure low volume system. I use a side channel blower but there are other good systems that work kind of like big shopvacs. And when using these systems you dont want to use big 6" ducting.. im using 3" hose and pipe for fast moving air.

    That's astonishing! Your shop looks fantastic. Thanks for the PCCam file. That'll be useful. What are those copper nozzles around 0:20? Where can I buy it? Is that with the holder or you can put it on any holder? My boss is planning to buy new machines from Kimla (linears). I know it depends on type of work someone does but maybe you have some general advice what to choose. Is that touch scanner useful? Is presser+extraction foot better than extracion foot?

    Thanks as always :) The copper-nozzle thing is just something ive been working on, (I accidentaly edited out talking about it) its meant to stay with the tool holder so every tool has its own custom solution. Its not ready for testing yet as there are some things to sort out but ill let you know when the time comes :) Always fun with new machines! For me personally, I would get the linear motors,probe and presser+foot. Like you said it depends on the product and the type of work but there are alot of benefits of them things. EDIT: -- I wrote alot here but it would be alot easier if I just made a quick private video on the pro's and con's and sent you a link. So ill do that 👍 Im going to kimla probably next week so ill know more about whats new after that :)

    THis made my week. The shop is looking so good Editing was so good!!!! for the HDF. put sheets of paper between the sheets might help since the machine is loading the sheets itself. would break tension and keep the vac from vac'in through multiple sheets. If you want to go to IMTS this year we are going to rent a house outside the city and drive in daily. eat some authentic chicago food and walk around making fun of the gimmicky stuff machine tool companies are trying to pass off as improvements or innovation.

    Thanks bud! Took me all dang day to edit! I'd be afraid of the papers falling off to somewhere, perhaps strips that are attached to the back of the racking.. but I think this "shearing-action" will keep working but if not then the plan is to put like stiff brushes on the short sides to cause drag on them. Time will tell :) I would LOOOOOVE to go to IMTS but im having a real hard time even making it to kimla in poland due to work/family/time but thanks, really. If anything changes until september you'll be the first to know!

    Heya. There are a few reasons. Mainly its because the stuff we make cant be made on a laser. Alot of the stuff we do is 2-2,5d machining (like pocketing,angled faces, threads,surfacing,countersinks ect) We use the probe alot, do quite a bit of engraving,put parts into the hole in the table then work on the edge,machine 6 meter extrusions on the T-track and pretty much all parts needs to be chamfered on both sides. (which we do without flipping them) There is no beating the versatility of a router even tho a laser/punch combo machine gets pretty close. You could buy multipl of these routers for the price of amadas laser/punch combo machine tho :) Parts are clean(ready for paint) and completely finished, brushed for paintadhesion,cut,threaded,countersinked,engraved and double side chamfered right off the machine (except bending) and that I love the most. They are ready to go without manual labor.

    @@randomrouting awesome! thank you for such a great reply. you have completely changed my opinion of routers. Most People just use them for cabinet manufacturing. I hope Fusion invests in CAM tools Specifically for routers. I currently use the manufacturing extension to nest my parts but the CAM can get very tedious for doing many sheets. Have you heard of SigmaNest? Their software looks pretty compelling. integrated offline bending and nesting. sadly doesn't work with the Amada brake press though.

    @@paullermerlanier2584 Thanks! Yes, if i remember correcly Kimla's (the router brand) nesting addon is using the sigmanest engine for their automated nesting. I dont have that yet but i will soon as i plan on getting it after a visit to the factory soon. Havent ever used sigmanest tho as im using amadas "production designer" for flatpattern generation and bending programs. I have automated the heck out of it and it pretty much runs by itself most of the time. I got some scripts that massage the dxf to find features/renames layers and then the kimla autogenerates the toolpaths instantly. Including all chamfering,countersinking and threading. Its quite crazy accually. Another good software for routers is Vectrics Vcarve.(including nesting)

    What is a diameter and length of spring need for this die? I printed erlier version but there is the hole less 4mm.

    Hi. Diameter is 3mm, contracted length is 25mm(including hooks at the ends), max length 85mm. Force from 0,4 to 4.1N linearly. Anything even close to it should work just fine.

    We use ProductionDesigner here with our Amada HRB2204. My son was using Autoit scripting to automatically press keys and do task with it. Maybe check that out, its free and interacts with Windows GUI. Easy to learn. Great video and work by the way!

    @@randomrouting Hi, just for update. I did a test with the V50 version and Stainless 3mm. bends without a problem, S355 4mm. bends without a problem. One more great benefit with this tool is that when using brushed stainless or anything that you don´t want lower tool marks on the products, that is the way to go👌👍 Great job, great success !

    Nowadays OpenAI has made this really easy, if you search for "openai custom gpt" here on youtube you will get alot better videos than i could make :) Its really simple step by step and you are guided the whole way. Ive seen what you do, this will be a cakewalk :)
