Sorry about the audio level folks; in all honesty, I don't have the tech savvy to fix it. But if you have your computer hooked up to a good set of speakers, like myself, you can control - and raise - the volume level via the speakers. I have no problem on my end.

Just reading the book again. Francesca Annis is brilliant as Emma.
Always love finding episodes with the wonderful Alastaire Cook providing the intro - many thanks.
@aspasialogica8416 - You're very welcome.
Interesting to watch, considering Greta has admitted she had a teenage crush on Bates. I did too, Greta!☺️
Gloria Grahame with a totally scandal ruined career, raging cancer and a mess of a love life managed to give a uniquely personal and unforgettable role.
I remember watching the series in early 80s with my mom. We just love it. My mom died last week. Watch it now made me feel close to my mom again.
My deepest condolences, i have lost my mama recently too.The souls of them are free and in heavenly realms.You will see her again after you leave this world. I wish you peace and strength to go walk your path in life with dignity and strength in het honour.God bless your souls and keep you always.with compassion and love from Victoria.✨✨🌈
Truly one of the most masterful books ever written.
This is what happens when you can't appreciate the things you have in life
Thankyou x
You’re welcome 😊
At 18:40 her broaches are some distance apart but at 19:20, when she's back from upstairs, they're touching each other! So, really she only went upstairs to pin them closer! 😂
At they're most probably a pair of earrings🤭
So xxxxxxxx wonderful. Watched ages ago. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

@Coco-vx2nr - You're very welcome.
La traducción pésima, lo lamento, no entendí nada.
@gracielalaplace9090 - No creo que haya ninguna traducción. ???
1949 version with James Mason is the best of 4 versions I've seen
The theme music is so evocative…
How did she nurse her for an hour after not nursing her for months? Miraculous!
Francesca Annis also does a fabulous acting job in "Lillie" on YTube..13-part series. Lilly Langtry & Prince of Wales & others. Great BBC production.
If michaels in it then it has to be good,
such a good film
Even with my earphones I can't hear sufficiently to follow it. Looks a good story.
@AnnE-mn8ny - Boy, am I sick and tired of these stupid, ungracious comments!! As I indicated on my "Community" Tab YEARS ago: "Sorry about the audio level folks; in all honesty, I don't have the tech savvy to fix it. But if you have your computer hooked up to a good set of speakers, like myself, you can control - and raise - the volume level via the speakers. I have no problem on my end."
It's a great drama but it's a pity I'm not a lip reader as on this episode there was no sound when they were talking 😡
@user-nb7zy4zf8x - Gasp!!! You're not a lip-reader??!! Say it ain't so. Too bad you didn't catch the explanation I posted: "Sorry about the audio level folks; in all honesty, I don't have the tech savvy to fix it. But if you have your computer hooked up to a good set of speakers, like myself, you can control - and raise - the volume level via the speakers. I have no problem on my end."
Yes bluetooth speaker or headphones work. And the real culprit is the auto-generated subtitles, useless for non-phonetic languages like English.
Thank you so much for uploading this ! Great acting from Michael Kitchen. Am watching on my ipad and even with the volume at under three quarters, the dialogue is clear and is loud enough. The few complaints on here are baffling.
@genny9026 - Genny: Thank you so much for your very gracious comment. So, you see "those" comments, ay? They do get a tad annoying, lol, but nice to know they're just a fraction of the lovely comments like yours. Glad you enjoyed the movie.
@@heardofjohn6854 😁👍🏻 Thanks again for all the work you did so we could see some great stuff !
@@genny9026 And many thanks again Genny. Happy New Year!
I understood his running. I could feel the urgency and release.
In the 70’s a man introduced you to live with him. You never had to worry about housing or the availability of some good weed. Nice.
Thank you! What an amazing series.....
@binebum1 - You're very welcome.

Far too much poetic licence and coincidence to make this a great script - it simply isn't credible. But it's entertaining enough, with a great cast headed by superstar Michael Kitchen. The actor who plays his son, Sean Gallagher, was very pretty - had a touch of the Richard Beckinsales I thought. I looked him up, surprised not to have seen him again. Turns out I did see him again - he had a short-lived role in 'Coronation Street' as Factory owner Paul Connor, around 15 years after this. Well I truly would not have recognised him! Alas, he didn't age well.
Oh my god!!! Thanks a million for uploading this mate!! I remember watching this back in 92 and u havent seen it since!! Always remember the wicked music in it (in the scene where Eddy lobs the package and Leo takes it in particular). Top upload!! Thanks again!
@rnw2739 - You're very welcome!
6:10 and 6:30, he was shown the evil in his heart. But by the grace of God, that could be me.
Such a good movie. I seen this wonderful film on Turner Classic Movies TCM a few years ago. I loved it. ❤ thank you for putting this on KZread
@sablewright8053 - You're very welcome, and I regret that YT took down Pt. 3.
Thankyou for posting this brilliant gem - a great cast and a gripping story.
@TheRobynbrown: You're very welcome.
Thankyou to the person who uploaded this what a treat!
@carolinejones8382 - You're very welcome.
Having said that I really like Tom Conti especially in Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence but that's another story All together 😊
I saw a wonderful made for television version of Madame Bovary with Francis O'connor as Emma and Hugh Bonneville as Charles Bovary and the very handsome Rudolphe was played by Greg Wise it was totally fabulous very true to the magnificent book and I loved it very harrowing though!
Beautifully written, filmed, directed, cast, and acted....thank you so much for posting.
@Sofeedme - You're very welcome.
So creepy - her corpse with eyes open.
That's the campest gangster ever.
I don't think I've ever seen a woman any more beautiful than Francesca Annis. She is absolutely exquisite.
Curious if anything objectionable in part 3
@MrChandanc9 - No, probably just a copyright issue.
Woah it’s crazy to think that this movie was made in my hometown 🥰🥹 Amado Arizona
Pretty sure I just saw 'Curley Watts' in the cafe, very shortly to turn up the on the new BBC show Eastenders, whatever happened to that?
What a lovely little gem, thank you. I wonder if this put McEwan in the minds of the producers of Mapp & Lucia, it was made just a few years after this? Such an internal performer, she's like a swan on the surface, but it's a bubbling cauldron beneath the surface, wonderful.
@thebadtemperedbrit: You're very welcome.
Excellent. Thankyou :)
@scoutmockingbird3833 - You're very welcome
I’m 61 years old and I watched it for the first time for 3 days straight. I truly felt love for Davey. A masterpiece .
@user-dy9yp1uo9f - I'm truly sorry that YT took down Pt. 3, and happy you managed to enjoy it anyway.
Great flick, pity about the hazy pic which does not permit close facial analysis. Still, very watch worthy! Thanks for posting
@adrianovasconcelos2739 - I understand - I hope YOU understand that this was uploaded from a 30-year old videotape.
@@heardofjohn6854 As indicated in my earlier message, many thanks for sharing.
@@adrianovasconcelos2739 Yes, sorry - you're very welcome.
Michael Kitchen has been my favorite actor since seeing him for the first time in Foyle’s War. Having him play the bad guy is quite different. He is fantastic, as usual, but I do say I prefer him as the good guy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful movie.
@winnepeterson6570 - You're very welcome.
