Home of the Dog Bowl Fire Pit, the Ultimate EDC Lighter, Crazy Matches and more. An Eagle Scout from days gone by, to an instructor and leader within the Royal Rangers program I have learned and taught boys and men camping skills and how to get things done out of doors.
No, I'm not the guy who is going to make videos of me camping in freezing weather, or hiking for miles to get to some remote wilderness survival scenario.
I am however the guy who has been there and done that and can teach you tips about how to do many things in the outdoors.

@@oldmaninthewoods52 thank you so much! God bless!!!!
They don’t warranty it for shrinkage despite following their instructions for washing, drying, and stretching. Waste of my $$
My father is from Selma, Al. I used to enjoy our trips down there when I was young.
@@NOBLENAGA007 that’s awesome
@@oldmaninthewoods52 Yeah he also fought in the tail end of WW2, korean and vietnam. He served 21 year before being mortared in vietnam and coming home. That old man would tell me a lot of stories about back then. It’s always good to see good people from back home showing the world that there is more to the south than moonshine lol. Btw im from Lowdes County.

Trades are terrible... low pay, hard dangerous work... the only real way is if you own your company and good luck trying to compete with the established companies around you. Is it a good skill yeah... i do plumbing, electrical, hvac, mechanical, carpentry ect but ill never do a construction trade again in my life. What they dont tell you is all the people who have reconstructive surgery by 35 to 40 years of age. To those who dont know. Go in your attic in the middle of summer for 30min, ask yourself, that for 8 hours a day 5 days a week and driving an hour each way is worth 16 to 24 an hour lmao also unions are not much better if they are full and most cases they are.
You don't have to remove all paint of the ferro rod only part you are scraping
Thats a treasure my friend
I will never use it. It is behind glass where it should be. Thanks!
You need to do something with the leather stacked handle, or it will rot and fall apart. Condition it with something- bees wax, mink oil, something.
@@theunknownatheist3815 thanks very much
very beautiful piece of wood
I like it too.
Nice! TY!
Thank you for this video. I subscribe to yours and David’s channel. I didn’t realize there was such a difference between ferro rods. I have a ferro rod but it just doesn’t spark so much. Thank you sir from central N.C.

It’ll split and look like Pac-Man as it dries I bet. Can’t imagine it staying a solid ring.
It has been a year and 23 days since I did this. It has some very minute cracks. I will make a video of it later on today. Thanks for the comment!!!

Tilley hats were the best when Alex Tilley was the owner, and everything was manufactured in Canada. Alex sold the company about ten years ago, the company was sold again shortly after, and the new owners have since outsourced manufacturing to China. Now, sadly, Tilley hats are no better than any other "Made in China" hat you can buy for $10 at the supermarket.
Truth. This one is almost 20 years old.
@@oldmaninthewoods52 American Hat Makers is what Tilley used to be, only made in the US and not Canada.
Didn’t know Dr.Phil did knife reviews on the side..😅

Read a kids book in your voice. You would calm a little guy to dreamland in minutes!! My son goes to sleep listening to some british woman. You are better/ my opinion.
You may be on to something.
You should do voiceovers❤
Thanks man! I wish I knew how to get started
There's even a 4th screwdriver inside that third one.
Yessir
Losing weight would be easy if food didn't taste so darn good...😋 But thankfully, I have stopped eating junk food and drinking soda.
Then you have won a victory, just in stopping the soda!!! And yes, food is good!!!!!
I love your videos! So honest and relatable ❤
Thank you!!
That sounds like an excellent idea until I get to Wednesday. That's the "all you can eat" buffet. 🫤
I understand. That’s where sheer willpower kicks in!
Looks will have to try
It works!
Congratulations on your journey!!!
Thanks man. I ran out of old man stuff. I think I’ll do some more of these.
Mike, this was EXCELLENT.
Thank you!
Please share in my group! Your property is magical by the way ❤ Thank you for getting this message out.
Yes maam. I will do that. Thanks!
Just watched the video. Id love to have a seasoned flat top like yours. Finished plate looking good.
Bought that thing off marketplace. Best $175 I ever spent on an outdoor cooking device of any kind. It's a four burner blackstone.
@@oldmaninthewoods52 Didn't realize how popular they are until I noticed my neighbor wasn't asking for my Texas Smoker/Grill for his cookouts. Lol. He's got a unit like yours. Gotta get me one now. Thanks for the video.
@@rickdaystar477 look on Craigslist and marketplace. You will find a deal!!!!
Jalapenos optional? Not in my house lol. Gotta keep'em 👍
Yes sir. Wife don't like em, but I eat enough for her.
Kind of griddle stir-fry like at the Japanese Teppan restaurant, only Southern. Looks good! I may try this soon.
Yessir. It’s a great breakfast
I have one like yours. Mine has some pits in the blade. Do you have a suggestion on how to take the pits out? Thanks
I don’t. Sorry
I'll have to try that sometime, looks delicious!
It's a game changer.
Looks great. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!!!
nice
Thanks
As a fellow trucker congrats to you. You are not alone
Thank you, sir
I can’t get mine to catch using the matchbox striker strip. Any idea why that might be?
Maybe that the soak time was too long in the wax or it may be that you just need to strike a little more and let the wax rub off the head of the match
Wow..
Works really good.
I recently discovered your videos and I am enjoying them, I just wanted to say GEAUX TIGERS
Roll Tide!!!!!
I think you did a perfect job on the restoration. The knife looks great!
Thank you kindly!
