I don't understand where the shower goes If you put a pony walk around the toilet (13:00 mark)
@emileeandlora20 сағат бұрын
The two examples at 13:00 have tub-shower on the opposite side, which is not shown in the picture. If you have a vanity, toilet and tub in a row, you can still add a partition to provide privacy between the vanity space and toilet/shower space. If your space is limited a resin or glass panel works well; you could also do a wood slat partition. Hope this was helpful!

Hi Ladies, I'm going thru video's looking for ideas for remodeling my bathroom when I came across your video. Great video and very informative. I especially liked the advice on the shower glass doors. Which brings me to my question. What do you ladies think about the half shower door? I thought this way I would also have less glass to clean and would make it appear open and larger. I also like the no step in shower. Any advice on that also? A real novice here!!!! haha Thank you!

Hi Diane. Great to hear that the video was helpful; we appreciate your kind words! We might need a picture - which you can send to our email - of the half shower door example. If "half" means not taking it to the ceiling, that works just fine and definitely can be a savings. If this isn't it, happy to provide more information, just need more details. We love curbless showers! Our advice is to find a contractor that is experienced in curbless showers especially in remodeling. Subfloor will need to be dropped, slopped and build up to flush out to your bathroom floor. Send our best with your remodel!:)

Very helpful video! I’m planning a bathroom renovation and learned a lot to consider in the selection of materials. Question: have you used straight stacked and offset tiles in the same space? Im planning on using 15x30 polished porcelain tile for the shower walls and a different 12x24 matte tile on the bathroom floor. The shower floor will be a hex mosaic. Given the shower wall and bathroom floor tiles are 2 different sizes/tiles, I’m wondering if it will look too busy for both tiles to be 33% offset. I was wondering if it would look better to use straight stack on the shower tile and 33% offset on the floor tile. Our bathroom style will be transitional, and I prefer a less busy, but not modern look. What would you recommend?
@emileeandloraАй бұрын
We are thrilled to hear the video was helpful, thank you for sharing!! Yes, we do mixed pattern tiles throughout the room all the time. The large format tiles, especially if they have a pattern like veining, are better straight laid and we would definitely suggest the 33% on the floor. Love that you knew to do 33% and not 50%!:) Your bathroom will feel classic and timeless, which will beautiful for years. Have fun with your project! And, we would love to see pictures if you comfortable sharing.
@martyo169Ай бұрын
@@emileeandlora Thanks so much for the quick and helpful response! Yes, I read that even though the tile website images shows 50% offsite (which is so pretty), that 33% is recommended to avoid lippage. Do you know if there is a concern with lippage with a straight stack?
@emileeandloraАй бұрын
Your welcome!:) Glad it was helpful. Lippage can happen on any tile lay pattern or size, however more common with large format, glass and ceramic tile. If porcelain is warped, lippage can be an issue too. An experienced tile setter can minimize or resolve this by adjusting with more or less adhesive in those areas and by not using warped or very uneven tiles. This is one of the reasons contractors order 10-20% overage, so they don't have to use the undesirable tiles. Uneven subfloors and walls can also be the culprit, so experienced installers will level check work surfaces before installing tile and use a level while installing.

@emileeandloraАй бұрын
The clay interior with glazed exterior will help the pot retain water. The exterior is also fired, which makes the pot more resistant to cracking. Pots with glazed interiors and exteriors will not breathe, so if you are adding plants to your fountain pot, we suggest an unglazed interior.

Great video! Tile question: We are renovating our tiny main bathroom, 5ft x 7ft. Shower to the right of the entrance, Sink and toilet to the left. We are replacing the tub with a low-curb shower. We are using green tile (Angela Harris Flatiron Aquamarine) on the floors (2x2 in the shower, 12x24 on the floor), White 12x24 tile on the shower walls. Our contractor suggests leaving the rest of the walls just painted white which is fine. Our problem is the vanity. Depth from the wall to the entrance door is 17" limiting choices.The vanities we are choosing from do not have a backsplash. What should we use? A strip of the white tile from the shower? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
@emileeandloraАй бұрын
If the budget allows, you can tile all the walls in the bathroom with the 12x24 white tile you are using in the shower, which will provide a backsplash for your vanity and choose a wall mounted faucet. With your limited vanity depth, you would need to install vanity before tiling and bring tile down to the countertop. If you are using a deck mount faucet, make sure your contractor accounts for the faucet spacing. Tile walls bring a lot of design impact to small bathrooms. If the white tile and your countertop are compatible whites, you can use the 12x24 cut to size w/ Schluter edge or deco tile edge. Another option is to find a countertop remnant that matches your countertop and have a backsplash cut for your space; this will need to be thin material (or milled down), because your vanity is very narrow and you need space for the faucet; or you can do a wall mounted or side faucet. Have fun with your remodel!:)

This sounds exactly like our main bathroom layout. What tile are you using for your curb?
@ps440229 минут бұрын
@@beccadigregorio9864 The tile went in last week and looks fantastic! There was a 3x24 bullnose in the Flatiron Aquamarine, so we used 6 of those for the curb. We used a coordinating 8x8 Dunmore Savona tile for the sink backsplash and shower niche. All from TileBar. Even through there are 3 different size tiles on the floor/shower, it appears seamless with the dark grout. I think this helps the space look larger.

I have a question about bathroom mirrors and lighting. I no longer want a large one piece mirror over my sink. How do you decide the size of the mirror and fixtures to light the mirror and vanity space?
@emileeandloraАй бұрын
Great question, thanks for asking! A good ratio for choosing a light fixture width for above a mirror 70-80 percent of the width of the mirror; be sure to leave a minimum of 8"-10" from light shade to ceiling. Light sconces on the side of a mirror can be the length of the mirror to as small as 20-25 percent of the the mirrors overall length. Framed mirror to vanity sizing is a bit more involved as there are many things to consider, but one example is a single sink 48" vanity with overhead light can fit up to a 36" wide mirror. We hope this was helpful!:)

great trends except for one why all the expense for heated floors??? all that work for nothing just wear houseshoes simple!!
@emileeandloraАй бұрын
We are big fans of house shoes - quite popular in the PNW :) However, a heated floor in climates that are cold will heat up the room from floor up. This is nice when you wake up on a cold day, need a shower and enter a room that is warmed to the temperature you like. On another note, heated floors throughout a home can reduce the forced heat cost. This again would be more appropriate for colder climates. Monday in Seattle It didn't get above 58 degrees :(

Are jacuzzi tubs outdated now? Considering replacing mine with a soaking tub
@emileeandlora2 ай бұрын
Even though the technology and cleanability has gotten so much better, jetted tubs are not as popular as they once were, but not outdated if it's a new tub. Warning, manufacturers don't make a lot of stock, so wait times can be long for jetted tubs. In the last 15 yrs, and hundreds of tubs later, we have had only 2 clients request a jetted tub and they are thrilled with their decision. So, we feel it is more important for you to spend your money on the tub you want and enjoy every bath.

I have a question about bathroom mirrors and lighting. I no longer want a large one piece mirror over my sink. How do you decide the size of the mirror and fixtures to light the mirror and vanity space?
Great question, thanks for asking! A good ratio for choosing a light fixture width for above a mirror 70-80 percent of the width of the mirror; be sure to leave a minimum of 8"-10" from light shade to ceiling. Light sconces on the side of a mirror can be the length of the mirror to as small as 20-25 percent of the the mirrors overall length. Framed mirror to vanity sizing is a bit more involved as there are many things to consider, but one example is a single sink 48" vanity with overhead light can fit up to a 36" wide mirror. We hope this was helpful!:)
Thanks so much ladies. I bought wall sconces; but I still wanted your expertise 😊
@@lisettewurster3648 Awesome! Anytime!
How do you recharge?
It comes with a plug in charger. Remove from water and charge outside or inside. It keeps a charge for a long time, approx. 100hrs.
On the pot outfitted with the solar pump, doesn’t the pot basically become a mosquito magnet anytime there isn’t enough sun to keep the fountain running?
Thanks for this question! Where we live, mosquitoes are not a big issue. For people with mosquito issues, we would suggest a two pot fountain with plants that repel mosquitoes around the the center pot filled with water. There are several floral and fragrant options, which make beautiful outside decor. We will make a video on this soon, so please come back or subscribe and turn on your video notification bell.
great trends except for one why all the expense for heated floors??? all that work for nothing just wear houseshoes simple!!
Monday in Seattle It didn't get above 58 degrees :(
Very cool video!! I am renovating our bathrooms as we speak! You are not in Colo by chance are you? One question I had was where did you get the overhead modern globe looking light from the ceiling? New subscriber & thx
@colleensmith3374 Glad you liked the video! Thank you for subscribing to the channel, we appreciate you and your support! No, we are actually in Seattle. I am working on adding the light link to the video, but in the meantime, you can find the light at Home Depo - Claxy Mid Century Modern 11.1" Globe Light. I believe you can find on Amazon as well.
Water lilies are better for still water. They don’t like water falling continuously or movement
Oh wow, that's good to know! Thank you for sharing! Fortunately it didn't seem to phase the ones we used.
Great ideas for my upcoming bathroom renovation. Thanks for your insight. Side note..... Niche is pronounced " Neeeesh " 🤓

Are jacuzzi tubs outdated now? Considering replacing mine with a soaking tub
I just had a great contractor remove some of the tile from my bath and put in a new shower/tub fixture. We found matching tile and you cannot see where the old fixture was taken out!
Love when this happens!! Thanks for sharing your experience, it helps viewers considering replacing their fixtures.
You two answered so many questions that I just did not think about. Thank you ladies

What a transformation!
No mention of universal access? For a bathroom to be timeless, it should accommodate all ages.
This is a very good point! Thank you for sharing! We will work on providing Aging In Place and ADA information in a future bathroom video.
WOW 😳 Thank you ladies ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing!! We appreciate the feedback and support!
Yes. This is very helpful! ❤
Actually no, I don't want my kitchen to be current. I want my kitchen to be something I love, and my tastes don't necessarily correspond to what's "in" at the moment. I don' think there was enough emphasis here on, "Use these ideas for inspiration if you like them, but the most important thing is to have a result that feels like home to you."
We appreciate your feedback on our video, thanks for sharing!
If the porcelain has texture. It need niche?
Sorry, we don't understand the question. Can you provide more context? Thanks
