wtf, this absolutely works. Thanks a lot!
Dude thanks a lot
Very impressive, making the excess sweating stop within 2 days was so much more than I expected, I went with what I talked about last week and after the first day or so I was very surprised to start feeling much more comfortable and dry! I went ahead and go'ogled the latest by Cynthia Yulesin and after 72 hours I now sweat like a “normal” person lol
No Joke!! It works
and if you don’t have a dollar bill ? Do you have to put on the meter first?
Thanks bro 😊
it worked! amazing
I came across this tutorial on youtube today. This worked great with my Minolta IVF autometer. Many thanks.
So i just found this thing in my dad's desk, and i was thinking like, "damn this thing looks really cool i think it's a prop from a sci fi movie" but now i know the thing it's just an auto meter
Hello! I have a Minolta IV f that indicates ''U'' for low light no matter what ISO, speed or light condition it's pointed at. I've tried the dollar bill trick but it doesn't work. Any ideas how to fix that? A friend of mine told me that there are some buttons that you can click on to reset the lightmeter while opening it but he doesn't remember the sequence.. So if you have any ideas please share! Thanks!
How do you find the text tool?
thanks
My meter hadn't worked correctly for years. I tried a few other methods to re-calibrate to no avail. I didn't expect this to help at all , but decided "What the h----,. and tried it. It worked perfectly immediaitely.
Rubbish
awesome post, it works.. wowww..... thank you!
Hey Joe, could you please tell how looks sensor position when you take off a sphere? I think something wrong with mine, when i took off sphere, that sensor looks not like right on center, it's a bit shift, that's why i think it works wrong with viewfinder when you are metering the reflected light
I was just looking for this, 1000 likes thank you
I did it and it's worked even with a 20 euros! This is not a calibration but my Autometer had a 3 stop underexposed and now it is ok. Maybe is a fail in electric contact because lack of use.
I am missing the flat and round dome for this, where can I get one?
Many thanks !
It's after 9 years.. I found useful ❤️Thank you so much
Thank you! It worked. I was planning to do all kinds of calibration procedures because my minolta v was way way underexposing. I came across this video and thought that looks too easy, probably won't work, but I gave it a try and the meter now works like a charm. Thank you!
Outstanding tutorial, very easy to follow. Well done!
Thanks for your helpful tutorial anything that helps me improve my images is much appreciated 👍
Good explanation if you are already an expert. Really bad if you don't know half the functions you are tossing around like confetti.
Yea this is crap, I tired it and no luck
Thanks! Worked like a harm and prevented me dumping it again on ebay , :-) This little switch is to reduce the sensitivity of the meter by 3 stops if you use the darkroom attachment which is the adaptor with the plain hole in it so no optics in the adaptor. If the switch gets dirty it puts the meter in darkroom mode for the adaptor and so without the adaptor the meter is 3 stops off. A good reminder to NOT put this(or any other measuring device) in your pocket with lint and dirt but to keep it safe and clean in the pouch.
amazing! works on a minolta auto meter iii. now i can use it with minolta booster ii. no dollar bill? use a white paper.
Good for 3D modeling since you can take a photo of something, straighten it and then make it into a texture and apply it to a modeled 3D object.
That's not a calibration FFS!
Help....I purchased a old Minolta auto 4f meter....when I select non c and fire flash the non c flashes..even though I was holding correct button on meter..does this mean I have a bad meter? It works fine on ambient
I bought mine today, but found out it would show the "under exposed"-icon and a large E on the display, no matter how high or low I changed the values and settings. Does anyone know about this error?
Sebastian Spiller did you ever figure it out
@@celonziajohnson Unfortunately I figured out that it is a technical error, which requires expensive repairs. I was able to return it to the second hand shop and replace it with a Kenko without paying extra, and it works great. But it is always a risk to buy second hand electronics, so in the future I will pay the extra buck and buy a a new light meter, with warranty and all. Probably Sekonic.
How does this calibrate the meter?
It doesn't. It cleans dirty contacts that are causing a bad reading.
Hello! I have an issue with my Minolta IV F meter, Previously it used to show me the ISO in increments of 100,200,400,and so on, but recently when I took out my meter to use it after a long time, its suddenly showing me ISO in increments of 87,170,340 and so on, What could have gone wrong? Can anybody please help me to reset it back to normal ISO speeds. Thanks.
what if I want to export a directory of images and all sub-directories, AND I want the structure maintained in the destination? So I want the subfolders to be created on the USB stick--the full file structure should be maintained. So far it's just flattening the structure of the destination--putting every image into the same directory--I don't want to have to navigate to every folder and export independently...
nice one
LOL! This works! Probably not "calibration" per se, but it does apparently reset the meter to read "normally." Before I did it the meter was giving me f8.0 at 1/60 and ISO 400. Afterward I got f2.8, which matched my Fujifilm X-T2 spot metering a grey card. Over 20 year old Auto Meter IVF works like new!
Thank you!! You're AWESOME!!
Right on point, thanks.
Wow, I was ready to buy a new meter before I ran into this video. Set screw would not provide enough adjustment before I performed this dollar bill trick. Worked like a champ!
My oh my - absolutely EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's like you read my mind. Thank you!

wow.. here I am messing with the skew like a chump.
Hi Does anyone know if it needs to be an America dollar note or would it work with other paper money?
My meter was 3 stops off, I was ready to buy a new meter or find someone to repair it. I can't believe it but this actually worked on my meter. Thanks so much for this trick/tip or whatever you want to call it.
What font is this?
Thanks
