To be fair, Irish is old fairy folklore and Disney made them really famous, as white fairies.

The thing with ai from a code perspective. I was telling my dad this is you can't code the bigger picture. The bigger picture is nuance. The bigger picture is consciousness. Idk exactly how to word this but the reason ai art has that flat feeling is because of that. It's mimicking patterns without seeing the bigger picture of those patterns. And with some artists the literaly patterns in our work can be so miniscule which can lead to an even more complex overall image not from seeing the detail but the idea the detail is even there to begin with. That doesnt even really explain what im tryna say id have to show but well the example in this video shows it pretty well on the surface.

Calling pro artists to answer one question. I intend to become one and make it as my career. I'll try to do it anyway cause I don't have any other choices but I just need your opinion. Will ai take over and replace artists?

In my humble and honest opinion : If AI ever perfectly replicates something, the original artist should get royalties

It's just the same cycle repeatng itself. If it does take off (which is highly unlikely) eventually it will be enshittified. Right now the service can't continue like this. It needs a lot of cash and staff and realistically there's only one way to raise it. And that will send it down the path of haves and have-nots, with the have-nots being in the same position they're in now. The currency will be real money, instead of algorithmic clout.

Fiction is rooted in culture. Its informed by culture. Fiction in the USA has been dominated by what was a largely European consumer base for most of this countries existence. And our fiction was literally informed by European folk tale and fiction. (Not to mention the actual proportion/demographic of platforms in general due to accessibility) There arent a lot of white figure in folk lore in south Africa even though white people have lived there for a looong time. Its context. There ARE a lot of black characters in fiction. Its just that, for some reason, people get really hung up on specifically wanting black characters in non culturally native settings almost EXCLUSIVELY these days. We never get african culture shown in its native settings. Why? 2 reasons. I think black people like the idea of accurate cultural representation but projects that attempt it always flop. Games, movies etc. Theres still an underlying instict to avoid "african" things that i think subliminally even exists in black Americans. These projects arent as viable to many companies. Also, black people in the US at the end of the day just refuse to admit how much of their culture, mindset and existence in general is associated and informed by Europeans. (Similar issue the other way around as well) And so, association through ANY OTHER culture is preferred. Ill listen to black Americans claim every culture in the book before they admit to their European connections.

20:16 Taking ideas from different cultures is how we got most of what we have today. But there is a sense of cultural purity that prevails online that excludes a lot of people from participating in this activity. Many people police how cultures are depicted because of the "appropriation" fallacy.

I hi, Josh, It's been a while you probably don't remember me at all! XD idk if I'm on the right account? I think I'll be taking your advice. I think I'll hop on over to Cara. Honestly I was really late to the party with instagram, and well I've not enjoyed it... But I have made friends so I'll likely stay there for the friends and the art contests, but not post there anymore. I'll likely leave what's up since it already possibly stolen by AI anyway. I have found that I do enjoy talking to the AI and asking it for help though. I can't believe I'm saying that. But I feel like when it comes to art and innovation, I feel sad that we have to deal with this. Ai should be trying to make life easier for us, not steal, or invade our privacy, etc.. however I have found myself on the fence with at least the chat bots, bc of the help I get for research. I find people that don't always get the top search results and it's exposed a wider world to me. But, its a very dangerous tool no doubt. I hope Cara will be like DA old. But your right, when its no fun anymore just leave and go to the next one. I hate doing that, and have been dragging my feet, stubborn. Mainly because I'm tired of restarting. But the dream just died in me over the last few years, to really do anything with my passions for money. I'm 35 disabled and my child is disabled. I'm exhausted and I'm just crushed. What little time I have left in the year for art, is going to be for me for now on.

I stopped using Instagram and adobe. Initially , l felt a loss, not knowing how to replace them when they were part of my day to day activities. I started looking for alternatives and trying them out. Most were bad. But, l then realised the problem was not needing to replace what l lossed with something comparable, but l was the problem. I had locked myself into these ecosystems with specific activities without realising there were better things l should be doing.

First of all, I would like to say that your portrait sketches here look amazing they really capture her likeness. I never heard of Cara, but I will check it out due to Your video post. You're right that a lot has changed in such a short time with the advent of the internet, but I feel (as a traditional artist) not all for the better, now many of us don't really create physical pieces of our artistic expressions like before. Yet, most of it now is in the Digital sphere where it can be viewed by billion but at the same time used, manipulated, copied, and now even stolen by Artificial intelligence as fragmented pieces of Digital data for others to use without our knowledge, but to be honest I guess that was inevitable. It's funny to hear your story about deviantAR; because this was my experience as well, it took forever for people to like or even comment on your post, making it feel like no one was interested. Now it looks like no one is actually drawing or creating art but using AI so much that you can't even tell what's real art sometimes and what's AI generated.

The problem is this - Instagram was an only Photographers platform and others too. Then when these platform got the huge traffic, they used the numbers to get bigger investors, advertisers too....and it all changed. Artist were pushed aside for entertainment. When Cara gets bigger, new investors will want in and get ready, the same fate will happen to Cara. The ones who will benefit as artists are those who have already developed huge community following, got experience. They don't need to network much and it's easy for them to attract more interest because they already got reach and reputation. For new people, who have no reach and reputation, maybe just a dozen followers or a few hundred will always find it difficult to network, make strong connections and profit.

I personally am holding off until a larger iPad model comes out. I don't see the point in upgrading when the iPad power itself hasn't changed much. I'd also like to note in previous iPad models, it was actually worth increasing storage of the iPad because the larger storage devices had better RAM. I just confirmed this with live Apple chat: The devices with 1TB and 2TB storage have 16gb of RAM and the others have only 8gb of RAM. Thankfully, you can still get a plain glass screen instead of the nano texture. From what I've read on other accounts on Reddit, the nano texture doesn't really make any difference in the drawing texture itself, so it'll probably be best for folks to get the regular glass screen.

My only fear is that it could be bought by a large company and then ruined. Idk if its possible to have an app/ company like cara but legally non-profit or public benefit. I just dont want more platforms going the way pf adobe.

I totally agree with your standpoint on how we artists should view AI from a different perspective. As artists, we excel in creating art and contributing unique perspectives and beauty to the world. While contemplating how to integrate AI into our practice, consistently sharing our artwork on various platforms, both online and offline, not only influences new artists-just as certain artists' works have profoundly inspired each of us-but also shapes AI models positively, enriching and broadening aesthetics.
