This makes me want to see what Rapido’s take on a North Staffordshire Railway locomotive would be like. I imagine they’d do it well, especially since most of their models so far have been great.
@class47peterКүн бұрын
Yes definitely, I'd be interested in seeing that too
@rogerevans425Күн бұрын
My only concern is that, as someone who converts my models to either P4 or EM it has been designed in a way that cannot be converted easily without changing the chassis (unless some concern like Ultrascale produces wheel/axle/driving gear sets. That said it is an absolute beauty, and I will have to produce a 00 test track to run it on (or take it to ny local model club's test track). Now Rapido let me tell you about the Met F class which is basically the same loco with a different chassis and a larger bunker...

8:30 The builder and number plates ARE etched. I've got this model and scratched the back of one plate. They are brass. Why would you assume they are plastic? I don't think they'll be able to do this in plastic that small and fine, with two colours. Also etching would be much cheaper than making moulding tooling for this.
@class47peter8 күн бұрын
The nameplates supplied with the 68s from memory were plastic. The numberplates supplied with the Large Prairies on inspection seem to be metal but they just have the number printed onto them. Hornby have supplied plastic nameplates as well before with some locos. I just assumed they were not etched, my bad.

I have said a fair few times how I think Maunsell locomotives that don’t have the regular smoke deflectors look a little bit odd to me but I do have to say that Sir Francis Drake does look quite good without them, great addition here peter, wouldn’t mine one of these Lord Nelson’s myself at some point, will have to see if I can get up to that A Oakes shop one day and take a look at what they have but I don’t live very close to the West Midlands so not sure if or when that could happen, it’s a shame they don’t have an online shop, I have heard they don’t do online for their model railway stuff, great review here Peter.

Overall an excellent review here peter, first off very interesting to see dapol sort of emulating what cavalex models did with their 56 on the packaging having this sit on a plinth and then be supported by the foam inside with no ice cube round it, overall it does look to be a very good model from dapol, that though is where I am at with it, for me these small industrial style locomotives just don’t interest me that much, I don’t have any in my fleet of locomotives and don’t really go out of my way to get them, the hornby pugs and pecketts, the Andrew Barclays I don’t have any of in my collection, I have more interest in the big express passenger and freight locomotives compared to these so overall I thing it’s very unlikely that one of these will be added to my fleet, overall a very good review here peter, I can certainly understand why you like this but as I say it’s not really a loco that interests me or gets me as excited, wouldn’t be surprised if these become as popular as hornbys peckett was, these locomotives in model form tend to do that, great video overall here Peter.
