Right now I'm looking for the Craftsman metric made in China black with spline drive but they are so expensive online even the Chinese tools resale for more than original price and the Craftsman double box end metric made in USA 6-30original price 100$ they resale for 800$ - 1000$ on eBay but they go fast Craftsman is the only brand that resales for more than original price Craftsman is like Pokemon gotta catch um all

How has it held up? I was looking at this in the store just yesterday. I would definitely need to upgrade my air supply to use it though

I don't know about now, but I use to have proto tools. Their warranty. Was so bad. Had to have the original receipt. Signed by the governor and notarized. Sent by register mail. I stopped buying them when it became now worth the effort.

Porto made in USA with Chinese steel. Wright made with US steel. Only one patriotic option.

I’ve considered a set of the Proto simply for more length combined with a grippy open end that isn’t likely to mar up fasteners.

It’s been a while since the US changed to metric on their cars. Every once in a while I’ll run across a SAE nut/bolt 🙄.

Love the Wright Grip. I’ve personally have not had an issue with grip taking damaged. Mine are satin, maybe it’s because of the chrome that is got damaged.

I’ve never seen a wright grip slip ever. The bolt always broke first. The only down side to the wright’s is the length of the wrench. I wish they had a long pattern version.

Glad you made this video. I was seriously considering the proto due to the extra length. But it sounds like the wright just feel better in the hand which I think is more important...

Wright tool is a privately held company out of Barberton Ohio and they are not affiliated with snap on tools. wright used to make stuff for Cornwell and others but their not owned by any of the tool truck brands or affiliated with any major brand

An open end wrench does not have a preferred direction. The reason it has a 15° offset is to allow it to be flipped over when restricted space does not allow 60° of rotation. An adjustable wrench has a preferred direction. When used properly, the movable jaw will be forced against the body, helping to keep it snug.

My limited experience with Zoro has been positive. Plus they carry a lot of items that are on my wish list and often at competitive prices. They just may be the best on-line retailer that I have found so far (very subjective of course). Kudos for ditching Amazon.

So you cancelled your subscription because you hate cancel culture... That's a new one. But you are not just hurting Amazon, you are hurting the sellers who have to sell there because amazon is predatory and got all the other stores closed and bankrupt. Small businesses are forced to sell on feebay or amazon unless they know about digital marketing and 99% do not know about it. You don't hurt Bezos that much, he won't notice your cancellation but those sellers who need to sell tools to feed their kids are losing out. Zoro is big enough that they won't be affected that much either way with the quantity that you buy. I'd keep the amazon subscrition cancelled but still buy from independent sellers on there and on feebay. Those small businesses are the only way americans have to avoid being wage slaves to large multinational corporations. we don't want to hurt those small businesses because actually they are just small people trying to make a life for their family in the only way available to them that isn' t illegal. Working 40hrs a week for wages doesn't count. You don't get to know your kids that way. You get home when they have to do homework and after that have to sleep. it amounts to 0 time with kids. That's wage slavery. Selling on feebay or amazon, you can make your own hours, spend time raising children so they won't have to be slaves too.

The SAE skips 1 3/16 on their 5/16 to 1 1/4 set. They also make a 1/4 and 6mm wrenches that you must buy separately. That being said, the pouches have enouth room to fit the extra wrenches with the slot for the next larger sizes without damaging anything.

The "lobster claw" is on purpose. It creates a pocket for the fastener to go into with the teeth in that pocket, using both the teeth and jamming the fastener to really bite in. I wondered about it too until I looked at the logo on the side, the line around where it says "grip" is a stamping of the specific intended jaw shape and it also has that pocket

This was quite helpful for me. I just started restoring a couple old Farmall tractors and tight fitting open end wrenches are needed as they have many square fasteners on them. So I have been looking for a really good set of SAE combination wrenches. Also country of origin is important to me. Not because made in USA automatically means superior because it doesn’t always hold true, but because it often means good quality while also providing jobs for our neighbors. I would hope that they would do the same for me.

I have never felt any hint of flex or spring in the open end of my Wright grip wrenches. There are some good combination wrench testing videos on youtube. The youtube channel Torque Test Channel has some good videos. They observed the same thing -- no flex or spring. They actually outperformed about 20 other brands the channel has tested. Proto makes great wrenches as well. I have plenty in my toolbox.
