  This was recorded when Pink Floyd were a collective. Roger did not start asserting himself as the leader until they started work on Wish You Were Here Roger was a workaholic and the other three were not always there because they were dealing with the massive success of Dark Side of the Moon. Roger was going through a bitter divorce, so he stayed in the studio working hard to pull his mates in to record. THAT is why he started driving the Pink Floyd engine.
