I have been struggling with the pearl pour. My greatest take-away from this video is to add the water a little at a time. I think I have been adding too much at a time, and not enough water overall. Can't wait to give this another try!

Hi Meta! What an excellent video! I tried this technique today and found that my initial coat of white, which I stretch as much as possible, flows over the subsequent colors when I put down. I tried several other pieces making the white basecoat thinner, and then thicker, but I continue to have the same problem. I have done the test to make sure that all paints are the same consistency. The longer the painting sits, the more the white runs over the colors, making them milky and diluted. Do you have any idea what I’m doing wrong? thank you so much for your help!

How can you know the ratio of your paints when you buy it if it wasn’t one of the paints you showed? I bought Deco Art and Folks Art.
Help! Video old but new to me. I just happen to have Miniwax and am going to use Floetrol for the first time. Question on these measurements. 2 ml = 80 drops. 3 drops to 1 oz Floetrol. That doesn’t make sense. What is the measurement for 1 drop?

Hi Meta, as I live in Australia can you recommend another paint as I can not purchase Artist loft here. I have purchased US floetrol to try 😢
Is the Minwax Pre Stain oil based or water based?
How are we going to know the ratio of floetrol or whatever we use too acrylic paint is going to be if we have different paint? One lady I watched said you could mix Elmers Glueall instead of Floetrol if you want too.

Oh my goodness...you are like THE FIRST of probably a hundred videos that I have watched that actually gives a comprehensive lesson on EXACTLY how your paints are supposed to look when you finish mixing them, depending on what time of pour you're doing. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. You don't know how much your actual VISUAL of the mixed paint has helped put my mind at ease. I've been doing craaaaaazy lol. I started with pre-mixed paints and nothing was working out right so Ive finally bitten the bullet and decided to buy some floetrol. I had been avoiding this because I wasnt sure if I would ever be able to do it right. My floetrol gets here today from amazon lol. So I am excited to go off with the knowledge you dropped in this video and hopefully successfully mixed some paint and FINALLY be able to do a dutch poor and get a result that doesnt immediately make me scream and throw the canvas in the trash lol.
Instead of trying to strestch towards the camera, move the camera a little up n over towards you. It will show better into work area. No matter how close to the camera you get your still tilting towards you

Is Artifst Loft or Satin Enamels needed for a pearl pour? Those companies/paints are very difficult to get in my country.

Do you always put minwax in your Floetrol ? Do you add all to this? Or just the Minwax ?
Ok I understand now the part you mixed up but what about the paint you added in cups? Is it just paint and thinned out?
