  I can relate to this I often forget what FD is on +R yet main random select in MKX lol granted MKX characters all feel similar to each other due to universal system mechanics but yes. and yes, gg faultless defense and the dedicated block button in mortal kombat games are very similar, but not the same.

  THIS VIDEO IS SO RELATABLE. You'll be doing crazy wall loops on characters with different weights in one game and then in the other one you can't even juggle. Also that first combo? NASTY, tasted like the finest wine

  Theres a specific art to combo discovery like this that parallels really no other art form imo. A mix of needing intense knowledge, difficult execution (akin to something like dude perfect trick shots or performance art), along with the puzzle-solving of making the combo work how you want it to, weight numbers, spacing, damage scaling, and otherwise. Its honestly something so amazing and this video is a great example, well done!

  This is honestly one of the reasons I see higher degree maths as more art than science, you aren't just plugging numbers, you aren't even really working with numbers 99% of the time, you have to take something super simple and blow it the fuck up to super generalized proportions, and it's similar to what Noah does here. Like, if you want an art related example, the simple idea of, how do we represent perspective in art led to the small idea of parallel lines meeting at some point in infinity leading to one of the most DIABOLICAL fields in the form of projective geometry, with insanely beautiful results for understanding basically anything, hell, I'd say Projective Geometry is basically just Euclidean Geometry++, that's honestly the reason I like +R so much, it just gives me that same intimate feeling of tearing a problem down to the bare minimum and just taking that core, which is usually some relatively simple, or singular thing (linking 2 ACs together for recharge, airdash SW for burst safety) and expanding it out way beyond what you'd imagine.
