Planet of Plenty

Planet of Plenty

We believe that agriculture is the sector with the greatest potential to positively impact the future of our planet.

We are inspired by the great challenge the world has presented us - to produce enough safe, nutritious food for all, while caring for our animals, and sustaining our land, air and water for future generations. Our natural resources may be finite, but human ingenuity is infinite.

What started as one company’s vision has become a call for collaboration. Planet of Plenty is a vision of promise, possibility and positivity for the future. It’s our belief that a world of abundance is achievable, but it will take all of us working together.

It’s a vision that must be led by science, technology and a shared will to make a difference - to plant trees we’ll never see grow.

Sustainability means taking positive action today for the success of tomorrow. It’s a pursuit where there’s always room for improvement… and a new idea.

Join us in Working Together for a Planet of Plenty™.

Isn’t one small problem that we don’t get black soldier flies here in the UK?

what about deforestation to make place for agricultural lands? who cares about methane when we are burning our lungs to make cow space?

Consider installing a Screech Owl nest box. Owls eat rodents which host ticks and attract pit vipers. Owls eat a lot of the same prey as Coyote and Bobcat.

Remember friends, the soy only needs to be lessened bevause it used for animal feed! Eating soy yourself is strongly recommended 🤘

Greenwashing 101. Please don't compare what your grandfather did with his 200 cows, probably using regenerative farming practices and pasture raised animals that produced no methane, to your 1,500 cows, manure pits, veal huts, and CAFO waste that is even more toxic than before it went into the digester. Not to mention, you are burning natural gas, which is not green energy.

Cutting native trees, to plant eucaliptus + grass+ cattle aint a way to replace the forest. It's good that co2 is captured, but there are other variables like diversity that have to be considered. Research for other (hopefuly native) plants that can feed the cattle (I've heard mexican sunflower tytonia is very rich in protein), and then ad it to the grass. Also other trees species that are native, not just eucaliptus.

    1. Our soy farming is done by no till techniques. While you are ploughing your soils with the declared purpose to decompose it's organic matter and throw away the resulting CO2 on the atmosphere, we are fully committed to improve, year after year, our best ways to sequester carbon on our fields through aggregating more organic matter, what further improves the fertility and increase even more the efficiency of mineral fertilizers use. 2. BTW, how much diesel fuel you burn away to turn upside down your crop fields? You blame us for the fuel used by transoceanic freight, but what about your non sense outdated way of doing farming? 3. How much fossil fuel nitrogen you need to feed your BSFL? We need no synthetic nitrogen in soy farming, since it's simbiosis with Bradyrhizobium is in such a way efficient and effective it ends up giving us a surplus N fixed on the soil, what we use to save nitrogen fertilizers on the succeeding crop, most of the time some grain 4. We can provide high quality Protein for a human being using some 300 square meters. Had you made the math of how much land you need to feed a person? Recycling food residues turning it into high quality proteins again is a very efficient concept, smart enough to stand up by its own, although it will probably be not enough It's totally unnecessary to you engage yourself in spread fakes about our efforts to feed mankind

The European Union need to use this system to get their green house gas emissions and reduce their carbon footprint on the planet instead of arbitrarily killing hundreds of thousands of cattle wastefully. People need to eat.

There. Here's Something that may help, if you haven't done it yet. I accidentally forgot a feed bag full of oats outside. It was a paper feed store bag, and it got wet. Not sure how long it took, but the oats fermented, and apparently attracted black soldier flies. I only noticed them because there were soo many larvae, they were falling out of the truck bed on to the ground. When I checked it out, there were thousands of them. Now that we have chickens again, I'm going to give this a try on purpose. Maybe this idea will help you as well.

Monoculture is never going to bring back the Matto Grosso. It is like sterile rows of columns but better than cattle for the water. I've seen Landowners farmers in Ireland plant the monoculture too.

How often did I hear farmers tell they feed the world. Cattle farmers don't feed the world, they abuse natural resources. Producing meat, wether or not having your cattle feed under monoculture trees.

And yet it's not. I don't see much diversity for the cows to eat here. It's healthier for the animals to have grass-covered land to munch on although an occasional tree for shade isn't a bad idea. It sounds like they're also trying to grow lumber, however. I just hope they didn't have to rip out rainforest to do so.
