    Yes, actually, most people want the SS rearend. The 454SS came with a 14 bolt semi float rear end just like the one i swapped into mine. The big difference is thst the 454 came in a 5 lug pattern where as the one i used is a 6 lug pattern which forces you to change out the front disc brakes into 6 lug from the original 5 lug pattern. Other than that, it is a plug and play swap. Just make sure that your 1991 obs is also 2WD.

  • @Edgar-and-Wrench
    @Edgar-and-Wrench6 ай бұрын

    @OBSKEV hmm you can lift up the rear end with a floor jack until both tires are in the air. If its a posi differential both tires will spin in the same direction. If its not then one tire will spin forward and one backwards. There are different type of differentials so it may not behave in the way that i described it. I suggest you look on youtube how to ID if a differential is a posi or not because youll see that there will be different ways in which the tires can spin. If i were to sell my truck there would be no way for the next owner to know that i have a eaton trutrac in the differential unless they pulled the cover off or spun the wires in the air. A burnout would tell you if it has an upgraded differential because if you see a 1 wheel peel then its obvious that there isnt any upgrades in the differential.

    Does using the dongle you mentioned for the hybrid limited for the auto dimming lights, will it keep the camera running even when the car is off? Can we use the dongle for the mirror instead of the fuse box?

  • @Edgar-and-Wrench

    No, just how the mirror loses power when you turn the car off, the camera will also lose power. Both the autodimming dongle and the dongle i use in thr video are designed to lose power when you turn the key. If you want the camera to stay on then you will need to directly connect a wire to an already existing wire that is always on OR tap into a fuse that is always on. So you have to open up the holes for the clutch master cylinder and studs. Once you get the clutch master cylinder in place you can use the studs to hold the clutch pedal bracket in place. Once the clutch pedal bracket is in place you can mark the holes at the top of the cab to drill out. After thr holes have been drill you will have to remove the top grill assembly where the wipers arms connect to and feed the bolts through the cab. Make sure you rtv the bolts so that water doesnt leak into the cab from those new holes you drilled

Also take into acount that you will need to adjust the shifting mechanism, fuel filling hose and any other thing that may have been modified when the lift was installed.

    If i remember correctly i used the mount thay was already bolted to the transmission. The mount has 1 stud that goes through the crossmember.
