    What's the difference between DialogueEnhance (+ DeRoom) vs DxRevive? Which should I get?

  • @PaulMDiaz
    @PaulMDiaz7 күн бұрын

    DxRevive attempts to restore your audio using multiple AI features. DeRoom is strictly to reduce the reverb in a room. DE attempts to improve your spoken audio with four different modules. All three have the place but in real work uses, I hardly ever use DE. The other two I use more often. Hope that helps

    Looking to get into content creation and already had Davinci Resolve 19 installed. I needed the studio version to work with my camera output, so that license is coming with the speed editor soon. I think that jog wheel will be nice for recording and patching in edits. This software is really a one stop shop for content creation. I downloaded Cakewalk, but I'm not going to use it because it's too complex and I need all the free room in my brain to go into learning the cinema camera I bought and Davinci Resolve. All the video tutorials I've seen thus far regarding Davinci Resolve don't really show you how to record tracks, but rather only how to edit them.

    Thanks good comparison..So when is best situation to buy only Clarity VX rather than DeReverb, and which situation is best to have both?

  • @domcapuanomusic
    @domcapuanomusic5 күн бұрын

    Clarity VX is more effective at cleaning recordings’ ambient and room noises, while DeReverb is more effective at smoothing the reverberation/reflections in the ambiance. For instance, if you record your voice outside on a busy street or in a park, Clarity VX would effectively clean out the city’s background noise. However, if you record in an indoor parking lot or garage, DeReverb will remove all the ambient reflections. So, if you are recording in an indoor hall with reflections plus a background noise of AC fun, both plugins would be needed. I hope this answers your question. 😀

    These apps are troubling for me, because to my ears, they leave behind holes in the audio we want to preserve, like holes in swiss cheese. The processed vocals sound scratchy to my ears - for lack of better terms. In a way, they remind me of an app I first used in 1996 called Quarterdeck WebTalk which my wife and I used to talk over VOIP when I was on the road. Switching through the various algorithms and bit rates, we could hear the way our words were compressed, modulated and packetized - some better for speech than others - but all leaving us with that sense of scratchy - severely processed audio. I've written and recorded several CDs of original songs, but am new to podcasting. And I just can't bring myself to buy any of the de-reverb plugs because of what they do to the sound quality. Instead, I've been giving the noise gate a workout, to remove breaths, noise, and room reverberance from between vocal phrases. The reverberant sounds are still there in the vocals that make it through the noise gate, but to my ears, sounds better than the de-reverbed vocal - IF the room character / reverb isn't too overpowering. Perhaps it's a combination of using such an effect LIGHTLY to remove the over-the-top reverb from the vocal TOGETHER with a noise gate to remove it completely from between phrases? That said, I wouldn't spend more than $30 on such a plug because at low levels like I'm suggesting, there seems to be very little difference. Thanks for your demo, and listening to an old man rattle off some thoughts ... ;^)

    I've always returned to Amadeus, despite the awful-looking app icon. It's easy on the eye, and despite being a powerful programs it doesn't try to cram everything in the same page. It has been reliable to me, with cut&paste, fading, volume change, looping, conversion, analysis, repair, and the limited amount of plug-ins applied. I keep WaveLab Elements in my drive for any more sophisticate needs that might arise. But I've not needed it, and I'm happy for this, since I find it UI completely hostile - in an even worse way than Adobe Audition.

    @@PaulMDiaz I think you might misunderstood me. It's easy in the internets with only a few lines of text. I did not mean it ironically but sincerely. Like in "have you performed a test?" Does not need to be scientific. Just like "I did a high shelf boost and Plugin X sounded awful while the other smooth" something like that. Regarding Frequency range . I just took a look cause tbh I Neve cared. So Pro Q goes to 30khz. TB Eq4 highest possible Shelving eq is at 17khz and the spectrum till 20khz. To me this looks like a philosophy choice of the developer. I think the Dev might have thought "I find a shelf at 17khz enough" . However I now see that the high cut looks pretty steep meaning you cant cut at 19khz or similar. Not that I use cuts this high but I will ask the dev why this choice, thanks for pointing it out. On the other hand the Max Eq by PA has a max shelving at 70khz. Some find it too much others swear by it. Go figure.
