  Thanks. I am getting the DAC converter because a TV soundbar costs too much. My computer speaker with a subwoofer which take RCA cost much less. I hope it works.

  I think old AirPort Express has 2 in 1 port. That can be used for making old speakers airplay 2 compatible.

  Do you have eArc, my new Samsung tv doesn’t have an optical output, but I have a Bluetooth capable tv . I bought a Bluetooth receiver and paired to my tv problem solved on one hdmi. My cable box has an optical output so I can use that to feed the optical in on my surround sound, Problem solved here too, I bought an d since returned an hdmi with an optical breakout to provide signal but I could not get it to work. My Samsung tv tv defaults to tv speakers which I have turned to zero. I have to pair every time I use the Bluetooth, makes for using my firestick kinda wonky I can’t use video out of my stereo, an unstable picture when going through the Bose surround system video out, my other tv I had for 16 years ad no issue, got a bigger tv.

  what if i need to do the opposite? i need an aux from monitor to soundboard. the audio goes in monitor via hdmi, out via aux to an optic in the soundbar

  Hi there! I’m so new to this! I’d appreciate some help! I have a turntable with a built in preamp. It came with the RCA cables. I’d like to purchase a soundbar but I’m not sure how to convert or use an adapter for it to go to whatever the soundbar accepts! Some have optical I believe.

  I am trying to provide sound from a music channel by way of my cable tv provider on my tv. I have two speakers permanently installed on my patio around my pool. If I purchase a digital to analog audio converter will it work or must I purchase a stereo receiver also

  If those speakers are power speakers, as in they are self powered, then the converter alone should do the trick. If those speakers don’t connect to power, then they are passive speakers and do need the assistance of a stereo receiver to work.

  May grab this is iOS 18, hasn’t gotten its act together yet. 4 years ago, able to connect two speakers. Then apple wants to get all jealous, and take feature away. Asinine. 🤬🤷‍♂️

  Well you chose 2 tvs that happen to have the worts kind of speakers you can get out of tvs. (Altough the small ones from that samsung tv are actually very good) many tvs have slim woofers to help with the bass.

  how much information/data will be lost using this kind of converter? i'm thinking about using it on my record player that only has RCA outputs and routing it to a sound bar at the TV that i use as an audio system for movies and Playstation, audio from TV goes through HMDI so optical port is free to use. Optical cable shouldn't have any looses, so the lenght of the cable shouldn't affect to the quality of sound, but i'm not sure about this kind of converter... Help anyone with more experience than me...

  @@SimpleCafeE LG TVs have a way to send audio to both speakers and optical out. So you can use the optical out to send audio to the subwoofer

  I would say no because of the audio level. 3.5mm jack is at the line level and since XLR is at a lower level, it may be too much so yea. Good question, I’m not an expert but yea if say no.
