Sad thing about video I don't think the ex boss of EWS vision of speedy freight has been realised, seemed most of journey at a very pedestrian pace.

what speed were you doing? it seems to take quite a while to get from Ipswich and you are not stopping like GA trains do at Manningtree, Colchester, Chelmsford etc and they are quicker?

TfL should bring back Primrose hill station and continue the east London line services that terminate at Highbury & Islington to connect at South Hampstead and then Terminate at Willsden Junction. I know that it has to share the corridor from Queens park with Bakerloo line services, but surely another 4th could be squeezed in? Especially now that HS2 will terminate at old oak Common.

Ahhh, the old TRJA49136 entry into TOPS. All new now. I used to operate the signalling panel at Felixstowe North. Looks like you're departing from "arrivals" sidings line 5 or 6.

Small point: I don't know what is on the Route Learning, but the crossing captioned as Levington, isn't. It's Stratton Hall Drift, which is in Trimley St Martin. Levington doesn't start until you get to the two cottages on the right at 18:15. When it used to be gated, it had a ground frame with home and distant up and down. As a four year old, I had a visit to the Box at Orwell (Nacton) when the station was still open. I wasn't big enough to pull the Home signal off! Happy days with Thompson L1's passing the house, opposite Rout's Farm and setting fire to the embankment.

Great one having in mind HD 1080 quality of filming. And pity that it is not 4k as it would be of a much better quality. I suggest that you do them all 4k as they will be of better quality and as such will last longer. In my opinion it is worth to invest some extra eford and film them all 4k, on sunny days and when driving away from sun. Clean window is a must anyway. Simply as this is what it is needed to do good if not top video. It is this simple and demanding at the same time.

WOW. Beautiful and perfect. This video should be a model for quality for all others. 😉🥰 ❤ Stay well, drive safe. PS: Having this quality and weather in mind that all London railway videos becomes scenic, worth to watch and enjoy. I have no doubt that you will get only compliments on this video as it is top of the top. ''Give us more''😉

Quality camera, capable memory card, ideal weather, drive away from sun, beautiful nature, clean window - result is a logical consequence: top quality railway ride, relaxing video. 👍🥰❤ If you will film more videos than do them on sunny days only, please. I do not like it grey - nor others, I believe.

Many yanks, good photography , however couldi recommend captions, and or commitory, these would maintain interest, when the route does not. A route would also help providing context and orientation. Many thanks for an remarkable journey, not often seen. Patrick, Northamptonshire

What are the spirals of wire around the left-hand OHLE wire at various positions around 18:26? And in a corresponding position on the track in the opposite direction? I notice that there are little circular "targets" hanging from that OHLE. Are both the spirals and the targets something to do with deterring birds which might be flying to/from the two Warwick reservoirs that the railway passes between? I presume that wire is a return or neutral wire, rather than one that the pantograph contacts.

Do any passenger trains use the track through the site of Primrose Hill station, or is that link freight only? Great view of the Roundhouse. Is the westbound platform of the NLL (as opposed to ELL) track at Caledonian Road permanently out of use, or was it fenced off temporarily for some work at the station. I presume eastbound NLL trains diverge left at the junction where you cross over the MML, use the more northerly platforms at Cally Road and then the emergency crossover that you mention to the east of it, just west of Highbury and Islington. It took me ages, comparing lineside buildings with Google's aerial photos, to work out the exact point where the video starts: shame that Google and OS maps don't label Lea Junction and Channelsea Loop ;-)

Excellent video and excellent driving, keeping the speed up and using the downhill gradients to your advantage. I'm undertaking some work on diesel vs electric traction and the climbs out of Ipswich and Manningtree provide some very useful information for me. You averaged 56 mph up the 2.75 miles of Dedham Bank at 1:134 which is impressive (I wonder how well laden the train was and what the trailing load was?). Is there any possibility of you filming a return down trip involving the climb up Brentwood Bank? I'm very keen to get exact point to point timings from Harold Wood to Ingrave Summit. And do you drive Class 90's as well? I'm particularly keen to get some comparison timings between Class 66 and Class 90 up Brentwood Bank. BTW and FYI, I am a rail freight consultant!

Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to watching more. How many trains come and go from Felixstowe on an average day? Given that a lot of them go via Peterborough, and you passed 4 of them heading east during the run, it must be a really busy rail terminus.
