    I am currently studying Ephesian and want to study on the church of Ephesus. Thanks so much for watching!! For the names of God, a good book my mom and cousin always recommend is "100 Names of God" by Christopher D. Hudson. Its a daily devotional. Hmm would have to look into/ask around for one about bible characters. I've heard of a few but have not read any myself, or know someone who has. Not sure if you have a study bible or application bible, but they tend to have character profiles. I do have a book (and I believe it is a series) called "Bad Girls of the Bible" (weird title, I know), but it goes through some women of the bible and has a companion study book. I haven't personally read it yet, but its a start. Hope this helps!

    "The Strong's Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words" is another good source for leaning into the original languages. The Bible Knowledge Commentary you showed is really good, and has been around a while. As for study Bibles, I use mostly the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, Reformation Study Bible, NKJV Study Bible, MacArthur Study Bible, and the Hebrew-Greek Keyword Study Bible. For commentaries, I have several but use mostly the Holman OT and NT Bible Commentary, each of which is a multi-volume set and helpful in preparing Sunday school lessons. There's also the Zondervan NIV Bible Commentary. I have more than what I've mentioned, but these are used most frequently.

    John is my favorite gospel ❤ I love chapters 15 & 17. The fact that Jesus took the time to pray for His disciples, asking the Father for their protection is so amazing to me. I had no idea how little that amount was Judas gave to betray Jesus. Your recap highlights the depth of God's love for us. Knowing that we only have a part of what's written about the works of Jesus is astounding!

    Thank you for sharing your heart & perspective in this video. I can totally relate being 31, single (never had a bf) & still at home. Sometimes I feel younger than I am and it may be due to not having a husband, kids, a home, you know all the things society "expects" us to have at a certain age LOL. It can be hard sometimes for me because it feels like my life stands out in this way, however I try to lean on the truth that God orders my steps and I'm right where He knew I would be. Also, there is so much beauty in singleness and I wish the world would promote that more than saying that it's a desperate or lonely stage you hav to free yourself from. I've been able to do things in this time that I can be grateful for and may never get to do once I'm married w/kids. God can definitely utilize us when like you said, our undivided attention is on Him. It's a special time for us to be with the Father one on one, and He is able to develop and shape us. Every season serves its purpose so I'm here enjoying the ride as much as I can. ❤

  • @MagnifiedFaith

    Yes!! There is a beauty in singleness!! Everything in God’s timing and He uses everyone in their season. In singleness we have the time to pour and serve in a different way than others. I understand feeling young or for me it’s not feeling “adult enough” (though these bills would say otherwise 😂)

    I wanted to share my marriage testimony sis ❤ just cause .. for me singleness was a hard season.. If anyone here felt like that .. please hold onto Abba .. He is a faithful father .. I am an Indian , so for me marriage had to happen in an arranged way... I had become a born again beliver from a catholic background.. so there was a lot of stuff happening at home... A lot of tears.. I used to ask god all the time...Abba were is the guy you made for me.. Does he even exist... And at that same time in 2021 i git chronic idiopathic urticaria.. full on disaster... I had my only joy which was creating videos...i am a doctor by profession but since im burdened alot of by my disease i felt so useless .. Psalm 13 was what i used to pray that time... Then again the hunt for a guy continued from my parents side... After about 1 and half year of being on a matrimony site..and after speaking to sooo many guys... 1 almost mareiage .. then god brought my husband... He was brought by Abba at a time when i was soo happy being single... I was so content in Abba at that time... I just wanna say one thing... If you feel burdened by others words regarding marriage... Just look up to Abba Father... The more you ask Jesus to help you... The more grace yoh will get... The more this whole situation will become. For me , this was a hard journey... Cause i almost got married to a wrong guy...just to please my family...alot of drama had happened... But God kept me..❤

    Hi😊 I wanted to say thank you for making this video. I want to try to say this right, please bear with me as I’m now feeling emotional myself! Thank you because this video gave me a chance to slow down and look at my own personal journey and see things that I didn’t see as they were happening. Thank you because I have always struggled to find someone who understood or could relate to these feelings and these topics and so feeling like “someone gets it”, not feeling alone in certain circumstances was a comfort to me that I didn’t even realize I still needed. This was just a great big pause button and helped me to really look and see how far the lord has brought me and get to see things in myself that I didn’t realize. Thank you for calling attention to these verses of love and encouragement. Thank you so much. Love and Prayers, Rachel❤

    I loveeee when you so these sit and chat videos. You are one of the few content creators that don't make me feel a little self conscious or ill equipt, i have been struggling with spiritual warfare a lot, not impacting my faith but extreme trials when its come to my studies. Your channel reminds me that we are all still real people. I bought 2 new Bibles this month. I realized after months of stubborn fits trying to make it work, CSB is not my favorite translation and the She Reads Truth, while it's an amazing resource, was not what I need in this season. I've been thinking about starting a small channel documenting my current journey which is, learning and the Word, basically from scratch. I got The Jesus Bible after seeing that it's pretty universally favored. My second that I bought today, after thinking about it for two weeks since I seen it at a discount store, is the Abide Bible. I'd never heard of it before and its an NET translation. I couldnt stop thinking about it and watched a lot of reviews. I want to dig into the Word but I've not found a groove for studies yet I feel like I'm perpetually looking for a study and nothing quite fits and then spiritual warfare tells my adhd that I'm too exhausted anyways. The Abide Bible has like, bonus features, prayer prompts, questions, and journal prompts and artwork for nearly every chapter. I might check out your current 90 day plan. Thank you so much for these chatty videos. I also have a little request maybe.. i know you have done plenty study videos and study with me's. Walking through the process from scratch, seeing someone's process really helps. Like how to take one passage and how to choose from it what to investigate and then the additional steps. You've made several, but those are so valuable and encouraging.

    Day 07 + 08 John 7 The people were very confused on who Jesus was. Some believed that he was the Christ, and others didn’t. I believe some of them didn’t want to believe because Jesus was calling out their sin and wrong doings. (v7) v18 I really like this verse. It’s a great reminder that glory is not our own, but the Lords. John 8 v1-11 Many things come to mind when I read this... 1. Where was the man that committed adultery? Surely he was caught in sin too. 2. What was Jesus writing in the dirt? 3. Isn’t it interesting that this woman calls Jesus ‘Lord’. Did she hear of him before this? Christ said “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” (v11) Jesus was not justifying her sin. He would soon die for her sins and all the sins of the world. We have to remember - Christ died for our sins, not so we would be free to sin but free from sin and free to choose not to sin. Christ told her “sin no more”. Does he expect her - even us - to never sin again? No. He wants us to live life with the intention to live righteously. To live without intentional sin. When we are focused on Christ and who he is and what he has done, we can live righteously. When we are focused on ourselves and our temporary satisfaction, it is easy to choose sin over righteous living. v31-47 1. Jesus is Truth. “He (Jesus) is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right... He shows us clearly the way to eternal life with God. Thus Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want, but freedom to follow God.” - LAB It’s important to remember that Jesus did not die on the cross for us to continue living in sin. Something I have learned is that if I want to follow God, I have to set boundaries and deny myself things I may want to do that don’t align with God. Living to follow God is a choice you make daily. We have to choose to want God in our lives, we choose to give God the time he deserves, and we choose to stop allowing sin in our life. 2. Those who practice sin, are slaves to sin. “Sin has a way of enslaving us, controlling is, dominating us, and dictating our actions.” - LAB Sin gets easier to do the more we do it. Sin gets easier to excuse the more we do it. It starts to be come a second nature. We have to remember that sin only satisfies temporarily. Sin also has consequences. Don’t waste your life living for yourself. God created us for more than just having our version of the perfect life. Romans talks a lot about this! 3. Whoever is of God, hears the words of God. Throughout the gospels Jesus is constantly saying “those who have ears hear”. If someone’s heart is hardened and not open to God, they will never hear or understand God. They won’t understand why you want to live following God. They won’t understand why you read the bible. We are a testimony to Christ for all to see. When we are present, are people seeing someone that loves Christ and is following him, or just another person living their life the way they want it?

    That's interesting because the exact opposite is happening for me. I think I over share and want to trust the good in people but God keeps proving to me that ((I personally)) can't trust people besides the one's he's selected and told me to trust. Recently, some lady I know ended up twisting my words when I told her things I had or was experiencing with God. She started making it out to be the devil and when she randomly prayed over me on Sunday service, she kept acting like I was possessed and told my mom not to touch me. Long story short, I'm not going to that church and I did surrender to God but I refused to surrender to the will of anyone. My mom told her a verse about passing judgement and being wrong about it but she brushed her off. 2nd time I've seen in my life a Spanish church behave so low. I couldn't even pray to God and still haven't for almost 3 weeks...I'm still trying to figure out if God would really send those people do degrade me like that or if that was the Devil. It's just messy...

  • @MagnifiedFaith
    @MagnifiedFaith2 ай бұрын

    Praying for you to find community!! So sorry that you are struggling with this! Surrender is hard especially when we are craving friendship. I keep hearing people talk about being in their season of “isolation” and I think that is where I have been and I am ready to truly embrace the community (online and in person) God has built around me. Don’t let others keep you from God. That is where the enemy finds victory. Pray to God, cry out to him. Our faith is in him and not in people. People will always fail us, hurt us, and sin against us - we are flawed but our God is bigger! Sending hugs and prayers for God to lead you to the church he wants you at. 💕
