    Admiral Cain was truly all about self preservation no matter who or what the cost as we saw in the series and the amazing miniseries razor she just cold as ice especially the scene in the shipping container, wonderfully nuanced performances by all especially by Michelle Forbes

    They composer, John Harle, put me on to this version. Its what he originally wrote (as Silencium - songs of the spirit no 8 Light -available on KZread) and then adapted for the series as it had the right rhythm and aesthetics. It’s not the theme, as the soprano Sarah Leonard, in the TV series is singing the phonetic alphabet for HMS Brilliant: “Bravo, Romeo, India; Lima, Lima, Alpha; India, November and (lastly) Tango”. The music, like Mike Oldfield’s Portsmouth, was inspirational for us crew members. I’ve been asking the BBC for a copy for years, with no success, sorry, I might just have to get my son to rip it as my phone ringtone. They were fun days in interesting times.

    In and of itself this was such a good scene. And I love the music. But in the grand scheme it highlighted a problem the show had. There are less than 50,000 people left, out of billions. That's like a large town. They Cylons are working very hard to wipe out those last 50,000. And the humans are [yet again] turning on each other. If I were the cylons I wouldn't even waste the time attacking them. I'd just stay close enough to keep them tense and let them eat each other. I know, I know. The show was meant to be a commentary on our modern world and blah blah blah same thing every show does. But in this case it just never really felt right considering what was at stake.

    Everyone on the Pegasus bridge is like "Oh shit, this is wrong." yet no one has the balls to oppose their CO (or shoot her in the head before she does fire). That´s what´s wrong with the military. No moral responsibility, just duty and following orders. I understand, the military wouldn´t work if it wasn´t so, but sometimes you just wish that things would be different.

    THIS is why the show failed for me..... This is a great bit of psychological warfare, as two wills battle one another... But I didn't watch the show long enough to get there.... Why, you ask? Because fr every 5 minutes of actual intense command-level, space-faring action... We got 2 hours of inane psychobabble and enough biblical paradigms to...... Oh, sorry.. I fell asleep mid-sentence... But that kind of makes my point. If I wanted a show that was 90% religious metaphor and 10% action, I'd have loved the remake of Battlestar Galactica. If I want a show which is 90% action... (well, at least in a narrative/actual intensity sense) and 10% religious metaphor, I'd rewatch the 70's original.......

    I still say that not only is this the best SciFi series I have ever see....., I really think it is one of the best series, hands down, of all time. In my book, it is up there with "The Wire" first 2 seasons, far surpasses "Game of Thrones" , and just barely edges out 'Firefly' & "Star Trek TNG"

    Poor choice by Cain to choose execution. Galactica had been through alot alone and her fighting capabilities almost matched Pegasus. It would have been a smarter move to release Tyrol and Helo as a gesture of good faith, while continuing to slowly intermix the crews and assert a command structure. Adama would of been reluctant but had no moral footing to stand his ground against her.

    Honestly its closer to a draw. Pegasus might survive but it'd be crippled.

  • @Puff_Chady
    @Puff_Chady6 ай бұрын

    I know this is 4 years old.. but no, Galactica will not "gets its ass handed to them". Pegasus has all the guns anyone can ask for, but Galactica has a heavy solid defense grid and armor plating. The Jupiter class are designed to put up walls of flak that are inconceivable to us. Pegasus wouldn't be able to penetrate that without driving right through it, which would knock many of her guns out, leaving both ships to slug it out at close range making it an equal fight. Also, Admiral Cain have never won a single war game against the older Jupiter Class ships like Battlestar Galactica. If Pegasus had a competent commander then the fight would be a drew or one ship will end up being crippled beyond repair.

    Michelle Forbes' best role.... her character in Outer Limits, A Stitch in Time was great, as well as her portrayal of Ensign Ro in Next Gen.... but Cain was totally badass.... I wish BG had done more with the character--- didn't really care for the Razors.... I wanted a series based on Cain's war against the Cylons, until she ran into Adama and.... "Target the main battery for Galactica. And may the Gods have mercy on their souls." Missing from this edit. Such a great line, this is why you can't trust amazing shows to networks that edit out stuff for commercials.

  • @jcohasset23

    I agree it's an unfortunate edit removal as it adds to how out of control the situation is becoming and that open hostilities between both ships is imminent before the "to be continued".
