Finally! Someone has highlighted the issue of ultraprocessed food in terms of intuitive eating. Intuitively eating a whole food diet seems to work fine but UPFs are literally addictive.

As an introvert, the advice to mingle EARLY cannot be understated!!! I was in a programming bootcamp and the sole woman in the outgoing cohort told me: "Make sure you get to know everyone. If not, they'll shut you out and you won't have a chance." That that thought had never occurred to me. I'm good company to myself and meeting people is draining (imo). Still, I did what she said and it certainly worked in my favor. I'm now at a multinational corporation working remotely, and maintaining the importance of "meet and greets" has been a lifesaver. Introducing myself and understanding the goals of my peers and leadership and finding ways to help them meet their goals has helped me meet my own.

I interviewed for admission to Harvard back in 1993 when I was a HS senior. I had great grades and test scores, a lot of AP exams, and as many ECs as my working-class parents could afford. While waiting for the alumni interview, I spoke with the alumnus's wife about the other two candidates he was interviewing. One was a nationally recognized concert pianist who also had 2 patents to her name (at age 17) for developing speech recognition software, and had recently been featured in USA Today as one of the top students in America. The other candidate was on the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team and medaled. I immediately realized I was thoroughly outclassed and in way over my head. 😅 I actually got to meet the concert pianist/software designer after graduation when we both represented our state at an academic challenge. She was really a lovely and amazing individual, was indeed admitted to Harvard.

This is how I felt going to an esteemed art school, I’m in my third year of trying to build up my courage, joy and self esteem after four years of feeling not good enough and having that affirmed left and right. I wish I’d know that some students spend their adolescence priming themselves to be competitive for these spaces. And how much of a difference that it makes in every aspect of school life. As a first gen student from a single parent household I didn’t have the resources or experience to come out of place like that shining.

This is why I'm glad I'm attending a state school, and why I didn't destroy my already fragile mental health by trying to get into an ivy school. At least here, I feel like I'm getting somewhere, and like people want me here, and like I really have earned my place among my peers.

I love your to do list buffet concept! It makes total sense and after watching this video I realize that I just write everything I need to do one one list without any organization and I know that I'm not as productive as I'd like to be because my to do list lacks organization. I need to watch your in-depth tutorial first because notion looks kinda confusing but looks very useful.

I just realized watching the video that I have been using the "Work type" option wrong, I like your system better. I often find myself looking through my tasks being like "Well, I don't really have the energy for that one" so that's a good way to sort it out. Honestly your Notion Daily Action Dash template is probably the best purchase I did in the last 2 years. I have tried a lot of different systems and methods to get organized and it's the only one that has worked for me on the long run. Also I used to work in a very demanding environment, where forgetting any little thing was treated as a major offense, and it helped me manage those unrealistic expectations without burning out while I was looking for a better job!

Hi Ahsante, could you share how we can also use a autofiller for the dates in tasks dashboard? You said you use Alfred. I can't quite figure out how to set that up. Any help appreciated.

  • @AhsanteB

Hi! Yeah that does take a bit of set up, I might do a video about it (thanks for the suggestion). This support article from Alfred covers how to add dynamic dates into your snippets, which is what I did: www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/advanced/placeholders/#date-time

Hi Ashante, I've been diving into your Life OS template I purchased... I am excited, and a bit overwhelmed. I am currently diving into the financial dashboard and I wonder what's the best way to ask you a couple of questions? I have a need for a whole other area/chart about in there but unsure how to go about creating.

Hey, for people out there looking into these elite schools and thinking about college, and your future, there is no need to compare with others. That is the biggest mistake ever. It would only hurt your inner self. Choose the school and subjects that you feel really into, and enjoy the the process and the hard work. If you could find a purpose and joy learning what you have chosen, I am sure you could handle the stress and thrive after the hard times. Sure you choose the elite school partially for their fame and opportunities, but don't get lost in it. Save those time thinking comparing with others, and use it to take care of yourself. That's the way to enjoy college life no matter which school you are in.

My usual yearly review/planning was feeling stale so I thought I'd poke around for something new. I'm so glad I found this! It integrates everything in a way that seems super intuitive and the template itself is amazing! I wasn't even planning to get a new template--mostly I was like "what are other folks doing that I could plug into my system"--but this is too good to pass up. Thanks so much!
