Guns are cool in real life too, so cool that they're even an Olympic sport! what? Does a bunch of assholes and monsters use them to commit atrocities and do heinous acts make weapons less cool? swords, knives and catapults were used to do this too and often in more brutal and evil ways than guns ever were, does that make them any less cool because of that? Knife crimes still happen today and are even more brutal than gun crimes. Does that make knives any less cool? It's not the weapon that's the problem, it's who uses it, monsters using weapons to commit atrocities doesn't make the weapon itself any less cool in the same way that it didn't make swords any less cool even though they were used to commit atrocities, the Romans are proof of that, committed unspeakable acts with their swords and they were still pretty cool

Let me give it to you straight dude. The story of FF6 in FF7 is EXACTLY THE SAME! In 6 you have a empire to deal with that is threatening the world especially when they find the waring triad. In 7 you have a evil corporation threatening the world sucking the life force out of the planet. In 6 you have a loss of life (General Leo) but it has a greater impact when it's done in 7 with Aerith. In 6 Terra as the main MC in the world of balance has an identity issue and in 7 Cloud has an identity issue. Every character in 6 goes thru tragedy likewise in 7. In 6 Terra is the empire's prodigy while 7 it's Sephiroth. I can keep going on and on. Some of what you're saying on FF6 is plain wrong. FF6 story is dark af. More darker than 7. You're just taken aback because it is in pixel form. In 7 only Cloud and Barret's story are complex. Character growth is seen with Cid, Red and I guess Tifa. Not so much with Yuffie who wants to carry her people's burden and save face because of the humiliation Shinra did to them. Even as meteor comes down people still hoping to live thru what looks like inevitability. While in FF6 once the psycho destroys the world you have to literally find people who haven't lost hope because people have given it up in a dying world, they are just living that's it, Kefka seemingly has won. You can see that from the start when you control Celes and what Cid tells her about those who were on that island with her and Cid but are no longer present and if you get the canon end for Cid which he dies Celes loses hope too. Then we meet Sabin who hasn't lost hope yet, then Terra who lost the will to fight, then we see Setzer who has lost hope then Edgar who hasn't lost hope and so forth. No, Hojo's not trying to pit people together he's actually puts priority on helping his son Sephiroth. He says so when you fight him that last time. Nah I believe it is because Sephiroth's will is stronger then JENOVA's. lol FF7 villain has many layers? lol what? No way. You are overlooking a huge thing which is highly unfair and that is the format. Final Fantasy 6 is contained in a limited 32 MB cartridge which limits how much words can be entered so the writers are heavily limited while Final Fantasy 7 also being limited on a CD still has over 700 MB of space to work with and can input much more text which in turn can add in more details and have longer text boxes which you can visually compare. There's a reason why Kitase has said that if FF6 was to be remade it would take 20 years for them to complete the game unlike FF7 which is closing in on nearly 10 years.

That's a pretty decent piece to the collection. I wouldn't think of it as a waste. Like you said, it's your personal piece of history. Too bad (and I could be wrong) that Satellaview games/applications were not perserved (as far as I know at least) and could be used via emulation for anyone to check out.

The way you juxtaposed the Game Over screen in Septentrion/SOS then immediately followed up with Firemen, you made me realise: the games that established Human's ambitious game design have their respective main dangers be fire and water. That's almost poetic.
