I really love the etymology and history integrated in these videos.
yes! i love the breakdown of the original battlefield technique when he shows the jujitsu response up a weapon - in this case, overheat katana strike
03:40 o goshi or koshi guruma.
This is my first time seeing your channel. I really appreciate this video, as your explanations flow very well. I can see sharing this with some others in my school. In fact, this particular video came up in a search as I was looking for things to consider as I assist with our yoko-sutemi-waza segment our school has been practicing, so thank you for helping me with some ideas and concepts I may wish to deliver! Happy to be a new subscriber :)
Very nice
This technique Front side
Tuyệt quá, cảm ơn
@@BaoNguyen-ktksteel You’re welcome. Please enjoy our other videos.
Going into the meaning behind the move is critical to understanding how its performed. I love it!
Thank you for watching!
Very good. But wold be better call It of " "o soto Yoko geri"
The otoshi variation looks very pratical.
The leg of the tori shold apply a ushiro geri, or shold sweep ?
The ushiro geri variation looks more safer, to don`t scramble, and falls underneath of the opponent. Like happens in competions.
What´s the difference between uchimata, e uchi momo ?
Amazing way to break down and logically explain the techniques 🙏
Thank you for saying so! Please share so Riki sensei's teachings can reach more people.

Basically for this throw to work you jeed to break uke's balance ,,behind" in order for him to succumb to the throw. Wonderfull technique
Thanks for watching!
Gold❤
Thank you!
Such a great technique taken out from competition, no need to force a high single leg. Arigatou gazaimasu !
Thanks Nico! We really appreciate your support.
Going to try this out at our dojo for sure, this is great! Love all the videos on the channel!
Thank you. Best wishes in your Judo journey.

@@RikiDojoUSA OK, I will, but I have ceased practicing Judo actively some 39 years ago. I wasn't able to understand some techniques while I was active, oguruma was one of them and here the explanation is really brilliant. Really. Regards from Serbia.
Thank you

Thanks!
Fantastic!! Thank you
You are very welcome!
04:34 so the ideia is push the left sholder Blade of the uke ?
Pulling uke's scapula up and towards you.
VC LÊ E NAO VÊ
"Toe Otoshi" - LOL
As always, thank you so much for sharing this sweet sweet judo nectar. I just cannot get enough of it. By the way, the students' technique shown at the beginning was really great. I am deeply impressed.
Thank you so much for saying so!
Thanks so much for sharing sensei!!!
You are so welcome!
Very good instruction😅
Thank you!
Very good instruction.

Wow you really packed a lot in there. Excellent variations on the theme which I have bookmarked for future viewing! Arigatō Riki Sensei!

Thank you!
Great info here arigato
Thanks for watching!
Shido in the first 10 seconds 🙄
Who cares? This channel teaches original, traditional, authentic Kodokan judo.
@@RikiDojoUSA there is no point in teaching 'fighting hacks' if they are not in line with present judging rules. We are not talking 'original kodokan techniques' for kata or graduation here!
@@tomasussing2600 so you can look a lot of channels that follows that line, and let us enjoy this one.
Easy to follow. Hard to do. Thank you for the invaluable tips.
You are so welcome! We appreciate your time and attention.
Thankyou sensei you are the only person to explain between both throws I’ve been doing kubi nage this whole time
Thanks for watching! Please spread the word so we can help Riki sensei's teachings reach more people.
I didin´t know that lapel trick was ilegal, it´s one the best way I can get morote seoi nage but sadly I have a little injury in my right elbow and can do it better to my "bad" side so the question is: Do I have to point my elbow way too high ? Thanks for sharing, I thought two hands morote seoi nage was eri seoi nage but I love to learn.
I don´t like to criticize my country´s judo but I have seen so many debates with uki goshi that is video has taught me a lot, looks simple and is similar to the way my oldest sensei taught me but some people love to say the real uki goshi is the huge elevation version you can see sometimes in competition or in some sambo matches. Arigatouu !
Riki sensei always tells us to not contradict the teachers in the dojo if they tell you something is contrary to what you know, but boy is that hard to do! Buena suerte!
@@RikiDojoUSA Yeah that is what I do but obviously there´s confusion in some fundamentals here. Thanks for answering.
👏🙏
Thanks!
Very detail oriented, patient step by step approach. Effective demonstration for all learners. Thank you sensei.
Thank you, we love this feedback!
Great video as always. Love all the variations. This throw works great in different disciplines too like BJJ 😁
Thanks Luis!
Beautifully explained, thank you.
Thank you for saying so and for watching!
I was very impressed by grabbing sode and yokowakare variation. That's good idea! You are genius.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your explanation sensei. I needed to know how to properly wheel someone which most videos don't explain so well
You are very welcome!
Love the grip variation details.
Thank you!
thanks sensei its open my mind so easily this way
We love to hear that!
Hey, it’s been awhile. Wonderful to see a new video from the Riki Dojo. I actually prefer sumi- garaging to tomoenage. I can’t really say why, except that I find sumi-gasehi much easier to enter into and execute successfully. Also I have found it serves as an effective follow-up waza to an unsuccessful attempt at osotogari. Many, many thanks!🥋🙂🌞
Thank you Jun! I've been SLACKING at video editing, but I'm back at it. I have many classes to distill into videos, but we're getting closer to the "finish line" of one video for each waza in Riki sensei's shodan test.
So uchi momo would what many of us call leg uchimata ? Thanks for sharing.
Exactly! Thanks for watching!
