I’ve learned some amazing variations in Jiu Jitsu, but hands down this is one of the best I’ve seen. 🙇Sensei Riki

Great tips. Not a shime-waza I practice, but it's nice to see it taught so effectively.

In bjj the triangle is a good pair with armbars and omaplatas you can have a trilemma where they defend one you do the other

I enjoyed the technical explanation of the technique. In all candor, though, sankaku-jime is my least preferred shime-waza for two reasons: I lack sufficient suppleness in my legs and applying this technique leaves me in an extremely vulnerable position.

Yes but learn to underhook the leg opposite side of arm inside of your legs that protects you from slams and helps you create an angle which helps the choke if you're not confident in your choke you can sweep and take mount also learn finishing mechanics I have have my own leg issues and you should have toes pointed up hip into them and try to get proper pressure on those carotids

@@RikiDojoUSA Thank you for your understanding, sir. I mean no disrespect---it's just that I have never been physically able to execute this technique. I have short legs, a prominent midsection, and everytime I've tried to do this waza, I simply cause myself pain in my knee and hip joints along with cramps in my thigh muscles. Also, in keeping with my interest in being able to use any waza either on or off the mat, I have always feared that a strike to the groin or face could immediately neutralize a sankaku-jime.

Sorry mate, you'll need to buy one (ideally several). Fuji judogis are $60ish on Amazon.
