Wow cool, im always hypnotized by wood working and totally was in that zone watching your video. Ehat happens when i search "how to make your own..well anything, but today, darning. Your darning here is by far much more than ill be able to make here at my work bench today with my limited tools i have...and my scrap wood but im giving it a shot. I acually started this up after sitting down with my holey socks i was about to start kinitting patches on. Though i am debating on just going onto estsy to find you and buy one of yours.

I've been trying to find a replacement for my grammas darning blocks and these are beautiful! Love the attention to details. Well worth the price.

A forced story never serves a video. Sometimes the simple arc of going from raw material to finished product is enough.

With a design that reduces the width of the handle, you’re reducing the integrity of the handle. Yes, you replaced the width at some point, but where the handle narrows into the collar is now permanently thinner. Have you used this knife enough after the modification to know if you can still pic much force into it without splintering the handle?

Definately, I think of the Opinel #8 as the perfect outdoor steak knife. Lol For $20.00 it's a good, cheap, general purpose, get er done knife. Not for prying, splitting or throwing!
