Out of all these areas you mention here, which area would you suggest for younger couple in mid 30’s and up ? I want to avoid seniors
An average 1 bedroom apartment in the Fox cities where she's from will cost you anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500. If you want extras it can easily cost close to $2,000. Even if you get a dumpy upper 1 bedroom apartment in an old house it will still cost you $700 to $900. You can find cheaper places to live in outlying small towns but you're not going to find much else in those towns, not even a major grocery store and no grocery delivery and pick up is unlikely.
She's kind of full of dookey. If you're a loner this is a great place to live because people will leave you alone, we mind our own business and if you move up north your nearest neighbor can easily be 5, 10 or even 15 miles away. If you wanted you could buy a cabin on a small isolated lake and avoid people most of the time. The Packers are big in WI but if you're not into football it's not a big deal. Nobody will give you grief for not being a Packer fan or a sports fan. It is expensive to live here. Since Covid hit rent has gone up 40% almost all rental unites are now owned by big corporations who are setting the rent. Groceries have risen by 40% except for proteins they've gone up by 63%. There aren't a lot of high paying jobs like there used to be.
Thanks for the info mate
thank you for watching! anything you would like to see information on?

I'm moving to WI in a few months. I wish I would've had this list for my FL house. I ran into some of these issues.
Welcome to Wisconsin! if you need a referral for a realtor let me know
Is it easy to get jobs in milwaukee for international students
good to hear
Lived in MI for years. Winter is more like 6 months. We used to say there was 2 seasons. Winter and 4 th of July. High taxes, high utilities, boring scenery. Was glad to get out of there.
I believe the scenery especially Northern Wisconsin is beautiful with the great lakes, Milwaukee's third ward is especially nice
Hi there….after a lot of researching the Janesville Wisconsin area, I have learned about intense humidity and mosquitoes….two things I absolutely hate and it’s a deal breaker for me mentally and emotionally. Now I am not sure about wanting to move into that stuff, along with the tornadoes and snow. I’m no longer hooked on moving there.
please name the 15 larger cities? or do you mean 6th?
Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Racine,, Wauwatosa, Kenosha, Fond du lac, Sheboygan, Janesville, West Allis, Waukesha
@@wheretolivewisconsin all those have more than 74k? 1st 3 obvious.
@@wheretolivewisconsin Appleton is 6th, and the top 15 go down to 44,000!
Very informative. You mentioned that you don't have an old basement. Are old basements a red flag when buying a home in Appleton?
My home is 20 years old, previously I lived in a 100 plus year old home. grading may have to be addressed on an older basement
WOW....SOS... Born and raised in M'waukee... Southside and borderline West Allis. I've lived in CA and the last 10 years in LA. I'm looking for somewhere to retire and my heart strings are calling me home but not sure just where ... Sooo much has changed since I moved in 1976. Not looking to buy a house ... can you advise ..... Thank You so much ...
I guess it depends on what amenities you want near by.
@wheretolivewisconsin well...not rural because I'm 70....so I guess an area that is safer with shopping, restaurants, community life....
Wisconsins a third world craphole now so sad what has happened to it totally changed since covid
Love love ❤ Wisconsin
so do I!
Have you done Kaukauna yet?
no any suggestions for Kaukauna? I love the Veterans bridge & Thousand islands
Thank you for the content!
any city you want covered? thank you for watching
We’re moving from CA and we’re so scared. We love our home but we’ve been forcibly pushed out by corporate greed and poor management. We’re looking for a safe place to land and raise our family. We’re looking at bay view neighborhood!
Would you like me to connect you with an agent I know in the Milwaukee market?
@@wheretolivewisconsin we’re looking to rent for the first year but I’ll never refuse a contact!
Hi Hayley, If you want to privately message me your contact information or email me [email protected] I will connect you with someone I trust, perhaps they can help you find a rental too!, let me know a little more about your house needs thanks

When you settle in, just remember you’re not in California anymore. I live in Texas and too many Californians move here and want to make it exactly like Cali. It’s not Cali. You left Cali for a reason. Leave the negatives in Cali .
How about fis fry’s , spotted cows beer and awesome brats and cheese. Kwakiutl trips !!!
Fish fries, fried cheese curds, local Mike's Kringles too!
So glad I found your channel! I may relocate to the area for work and just want an overall feel of the area.
Glad to hear it! let me know how I can help!
The "diverse" population is really making the crime and homicide level go up.
I moved here from Denver some years ago. Rent WAS affordable but it's starting to catch up to the rest of the nation. Winters, comparable to Denver there's just more black ice here but not as much black ice as what Iowa has. The food scene is hurting, namely the service side of it. There's a few ok spots around town for Mexican, don't trust the locals on their favorite spots otherwise you'll end up at a place that covers their burritos in cheese sauce.. No, Solea isn't good lol. For Pho go to the Long Cheng market and find Pho Fever in the back, this is the only good Pho in town. For Pizza...Christianos is hit or miss and the only place in town that I can recommend. Every other pizza here is tavern style and cut into squares so you have to ask for triangles which they'll often forget to do. This is the drunkest city in America, I've seen my fair share of drunks on the road. Speaking of the road, they have no idea what the left lane is for! You'll see entitled drivers squatting in the left lane dead even with the right lane on the highway. They know what they're doing but don't care and they wonder why there's an angry line of traffic behind them. It's to a degree that when my family from multiple states visits they all say "so what's with the drivers here?" The farmers market is great on college. Unemployment is low and there's barely ever anyone begging.
❤ Nice people and beautiful scenery. Thank you. Go Packers !!
I agree
😄This was fun, and comprehensive-- great intro to Wisconsin real estate. Thanks! I might contact you soon, actually.
Glad you enjoyed it, look forward to speaking to you
Love this! ❤
Thanks Chris, your videos are so informative. My wife and I will enjoy any of these you make, especially focusing on the specific communities. It’s nice to have an idea of what makes them unique, before we potentially move there some day.
Hi Thank you for visiting my channel. I truly enjoy the area and promoting it!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Xavier is north Appleton??
yes, it is north of the fox river
What about job market?
unemployment in milwaukee is lower than national average, 3.3, 8 Fortune 500 companies, strong commitment to city revitatlization
Whitefish Bay isn’t in Waukesha County and I believe Ozaukee County is the most expensive county. Could be wrong on that, but Whitefish Bay isn’t in Waukesha County.
YOu are right it is in Milwaukee county
Moving to Appleton in 3 weeks! Apartment renting before I buy. All the neighborhoods good?
Appleton is very safe, if you want a neighborhood atmosphere or be closer to amenities?
@@wheretolivewisconsin For now, just something cheap, under $800 a month for a studio or one bedroom. Offstreet parking and laundry on the premises. Near 41 & 96.
$300,000.00 for a home in WI??!!! Where do I sign??!!! Here in Orange County CA, one of the most expensive locations in the country, $300K can't get you a dog house!!! That's not a joke! 😂😂😂
Yes it is true!, contact me to find out more
Hi Chris, thanks so much for making this video! It's so helpful to learn a bit about each of the main communities around Appleton, and what makes them unique. Nice job!
Thank you, we will be doing separate videos for all outlying communities
Hi, greetings. I'm Brazilian, could you mention the cons and adverse situations of living or investing in WI?
I’m from north central Wisconsin love the state but definitely ready to leave the cold winter 🥶
Hi, Lately though winters have been mild...
All awesome events! Thx for sharing!❤
We are moving to Wisconsin in August. We want to buy a home but we are first time home buyers. We don’t even know where to start
Please let me know how I ca help. First you need a preapproval from a lender. If you are a first time homebuyer you may qualify for a wheda loan. Once you know where and how much you can afford reach out to me. If I can't help, I can find a great realtor who can. Consider school ratings, cost of living, proximity to work. Some rural outlying areas are more reasonable than the cities
@@wheretolivewisconsin Thank you! Yes we are first time home buyers. Once we get situated in Wisconsin I’ll reach out. We have no idea what to expect we have never lived outside of California
Chris, I love all of you videos! We’re thinking of moving there when I retire from the Air Force. One request: could you do a video that describes some of the key differences, uniqueness, personality, etc, of the different areas around Appleton, such as Neenah, Menasha, Kimberly, Fox Crossing, etc.? It would be helpful as we consider where we might want to live. Thanks!
I will do that, I just got back from England and wanted to do a fun comparison about round abouts, etc, but each community definitely has its own flavor, Little Chute is extremely proud of being dutch, New london dedicated a whole day March 17 changing to New Dublin, having a parade etc. Neenah's downtown "Future Neenah" does a great job promoting their unique downtown with wine walks, scavenger hunts. Appleton is quickly becoming known as a music venue, and has the 2nd largest farmers market in the state!
I want to mention here, this is my favorite location Wisconsin, Appleton! I like plain landscape, cold weather and pine trees. This video shows much of its beauty. Healthy frosty air, much sun, crystal clear water in the river. I think people in this area should stay healthy and prosperous.
Thanks for watching! Lots of activities
6th largest city in WI **

thank you for the openness... I love the information.
The property taxes are horrible. Ours are going up $200 per year for the next 20 years, due to an the nearly 2 mill school. Totally unaffordable and we want out. It's basically wealthy people that can afford to live here. It sucks!
Hi Sorry for your experience. I know property taxes are rising. I do love the community
