I became a Beatle fan after hearing the album Revolver. Tomorrow Never Knows is one of my favourite songs ever!
Hi yet again Dave! I’m back with a different request. I mentioned Tori’s single in my other comment, which is great. This one however, is a gut punch. No Karen comparison (like her single) but it is the song Richard and Cynthia Weil wrote for Karen and the next Carpenters album. “Something In Your Eyes” which Karen died before even hearing it. In 1987 Dusty Springfield sang it with Richard on his solo “Time” album. Tori sang this song at the 55th Anniversary Acoustic Night. It was recorded by the official videographer. The video looked good but the audio was boomy. Tori’s voice rang through but she wasn’t happy with the result. So when she got home to her studio, she re-recorded it and used a clean piano track from her concert pianist, Drew Jansen. She added backing vocals and used video and stills from the event. Knowing Karen never sang it, what do we have here? I’ll let you discover that in your reaction. This is different, it’s the Carpenters song that never was. One more thing to note. For the first time, in the video notes, she gave herself “Producer” credit. In my opinion, finally. She made this. Boy did she ever. Here’s the link and I look forward to your reaction/review. Wow, never even heard of this one, Joe. I’ll be glad to do a reaction, and thanks again for your kind donation.
@@daxmusix my pleasure. I’m surprised you aren’t aware of this song. I learned of it early, back when Richard and Dusty released it. It was the song Karen never sang. Well, maybe we have an idea of what it could have been. We’ll see. It’s been covered by some others, too. Enjoy!
@@jbs256 I may have heard it, but just don’t recall. Anyway, look forward to it.
Added thanks for for agreeing to Joe's request, looking forward to it. I dont think you'll be disappointed.
Gee, the song is only 70 years old and you make-believe you never heard it. lol
Thanks for the reaction. This is one of my favorite performances of all time. Absolutely beautiful.
Robin's voice - straight from Heaven to your heart ❤ He will always have my heart - there will never be another like him ❤
The late 80s and early 90s had some great songs. They also did a cover of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" on a tribute album to Carole King. Alone, Secret Love, One, For Whom The Bell Tolls, You Win Again, if you get a chance, check them out. ❤❤❤
Love this song ❤ Helen sings it so beautifully ❤️😍
Robin's voice is so beautiful ❤️🤩 I love him so much and he's so gorgeous 🥰😍 Rip sweet angel 🌠🙏🫶❤️
I love the political nature of this song. I despise Reagan and almost everything he was about. I noticed this performance is in a lower key than the studio recording. Don was reaching for those high notes in studio!
Jennifer's voice reflects the strong personality of a strong woman and yet she sings the song from the perspective of a loving woman's submission to the power of love. It's the complex equation and contrast of two opposite nature (strong yet submitting) makes the song work breathtaking beautifully. To me, Celine's version represents only the submitting nature of the singer. Celine has some absolute beautiful songs in her career, but with the Power of Love, the JR version is the one that sets the benchmark. No disrespect, but no one is even close to Jennifer. I'm no music expert, I just shared how I felt.

Thank you for this!! Great analysis
My God, what a gift she is. Angels pouring out of her mouth.
Me suscribí ❤. Gracias por tu trabajo.
Magnificent. Absolutely stunning!
Yay! 🥳
🤓🎸😉
Sheer class
You should have reacted to the live version it’s phenomenal!
Jennifer
Goosebumps..this song belongs to jennifer..❤❤
I'm a bad one to ask in comparing these two versions. I tend to have a bias toward the original and against a cover with ANY song (except for "All Along the Watchtower"). In my mind, this is a Jennifer Rush song - NOT a Céline Dion song. Céline Dion singing this song is like Metallica playing Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", Elvis singing Frank Sinatra's "I Did it My Way" or someone covering Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". Céline Dion's version isn't bad but again, it's my thick skull and narrow-minded view that might prevent me from judging fairly Céline Dion's version.
Она просто насадила всех этих ,,битлов,, на булавки как жуков своим великолепным пением и невозмутимым видом😬👍
Fantastic! They are still the greatest in 2024❤❤❤thank you
Velvet indeed!
This song really hits hard to those who have watched the show.
The key player was playing a synthesizer, plus a regular keyboard.
I have sung this song to my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years and I still cry🥲🥲
I was going to listen but you insulted ‘lefties’ 2x for no reason. So this lefty is out.
That solo is widely considered one of the greatest live guitar solos of all time! I was very fortunate to have seen Chicago at the Fillmore East about 3 weeks before the Tanglewood show. Terry was on fire that night as well. RIP guitar master.
Celine Dion is unique.
My favourite Bryan Ferry song what a record
Amazing, ive come out to play!
I see why you said that with Scotland, but I found it so refreshing that it has not to be the only region with highlands and lowlands.
This song is on one of my Burt Bacharach and Hal David record collections. I believe it's performed by Dionne Warwick. Dusty is awesome.
Probably the best ballad ever written!
when ringo came back from holiday , he overdubbed the drums at the end of the song because , ironically , Paul wasnt able to get it right
Dude had the personality of a saint, and the voice of an angel.
Check out Janis Joplin's version of this song.
Great song, one of the very best. Amazing lyrics. Thanks.
You're right. It is superbly sublime. It easily pulls tears out of my eyes every time I hear it.
It was a really good idea to translate the lyrics into Italian for Pavarotti. It helps to make the lyric weight of the song easily and universally felt.
another lady named Rush original this one I say the original better than those who followed Merrilee Rush Angel of the morning 1968 kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGimu9xygaTclLQ.html
Love the Go Go Girls.
He actually had a 4 and a half to 5 octave range as a counter tenor.
I took rock poetry in high school, which was in the 70s and we decoded this song. They trip the light fandango and did cartwheel cross. The floor refers to the man that Jesus healed at the Bethesda pool. The waiter is Jesus and the Miller is Saint John, who wrote the book of revelations. You can kind of take it from there without me, telling the whole story of it but basically they’re singing and writing about the life and death of Jesus. When Jesus rose after three days, only the women saw him, and they thought he was a ghost, but then he ascended into heaven, where he met the pale horse which represents death. Jesus rode up on a white horse, which means he conquered death. So you are partly right, it is a love story about the sacred mother Mary of Magdala and Jesus. Procul Harum were freemasons, and they believed that Mary and Jesus were married and left a bloodline. You can take it for what you want but this explanation really made sense to me at the time. They believed that the Catholic Church has lied all these years, and that the Trinity is actually the father, the mother and the child. They regard women as the Saints, and truly believe that they should be the ones running the world. We wouldn’t have any wars. Anyway, it’s something to think about. If you listen to their other hit Conquistador and will tell you a little bit more about their beliefs.
Dax.... I appreciate you closely following Grace's career...😊😊😊.... I've been following her since I first saw her on AGT when she was only 12 years old with her original song "I Don't Know My Name" .... I saw that performance live and I knew then, along with thousands of others, that Grace was "Special". She's only 20 years old now, and what a career she has; singer, song writer, performer, and now a promising film career with her latest one directed and produced by Frances Ford Coppala .... WOW 😮😳😳..... Amazing!!! Anyway pal, I appreciate you keeping a close eye 👀 on her as I really appreciate your comments etc about her.. I also agree with one of your earlier comments.."She's a modern day Mozart" when it comes to her music gifts etc..keep it up pal 👌👍😊.... from one who cares 😇 ☝️🙏☝️...
Thanks very much. It’s always wonderful to come across somebody who appreciates the magnificence of Grace as I and many others do. Thanks again.
"Voice inside my Head" is a great song from their younger videos. The srtudio version of this video is great. She has an amazing voice.
RIP Terry - you are still remembered
