Hi everyone, my name is Stan Zuray, I live in the Yukon River village of Tanana, Alaska with my family but I was born and raised in Boston (Dorchester). I enjoy sharing my lifestyle with people, so I hope you enjoy my channel. Things I make videos about are Fishing, Hunting, Trapping, Dog Mushing and general living in remote interior Alaska. Some are real focused how to videos. Much of our lives can be seen on the TV show "Yukon Men" but in a TV dramatized format. These videos are more relaxed you might say.

Stan thank you for the info really appreciate it. Just purchased some wind dried salmon from someone not going to mention any names but they sent us 4 oz for $30. I was shocked. Lol We live in Fla so just purchased a pound of wild Sockeye Salmon for $12 a pound followed your directions and came out great. Again thank you very much for the great videos.

Calling Tanana a rural Yukon village is quite a stretch anymore by Alaska standards. All that big, heavy stuff that you drove past was either barged or flown in decades before you ever arrived there. It's a small town, not a village anymore. I live in Fairbanks and not connected to city water, I have a private well as do thousands of others here in the Borough that we paid for personally and maintain. No ground water out there? With a very limited base of economics there too, and a very big dependence on government money. You need to include some of this info on your next travel log.

Stan, what kind of decisions do the agencies make based on the counts you give them?
depends on the implications to the fishery politics at the moment but they do get used to add to the data taken on the river to assess the overall counts. It was valuable enough that the projects I ran were funded for years and I was actually asked to run them.

They have been tested twice in my years in a big study on salmon run out of my camp. Nothing of any bad level was the results but wouldn't bet my life on it.
