Yukon River Village at 50 Below Tanana, Alaska - Stan Zuray

Tanana, Alaska usually sees 50 below each year and sometimes colder. Here's a run around the village and down onto the Yukon River at 52 below so you can see for yourself.
Also "Carry On: Stan Zuray's Journey from Boston Greaser to Alaskan Homesteader" is now available on Amazon in paperback, eBook, and audiobook. Amazon reviews always appreciated. www.amazon.com/dp/1521098891
Anyone interested in a signed copy has two options:

1. Get two 12.5 x 9.5" priority mail flat rate envelopes at post office.
2. Self-address and put postage on one envelope.
3. Address other one to: Stan Zuray, Box 77172, Tanana, Alaska, 99777 and put book and other envelope in it (folded) and signing instructions if any and I'll sign and return.
Please send no money - my privilege to sign but an Amazon review would be appreciated. Flat rate both ways will cost you under $15.

There’s gold, and it’s haunting and haunting; It’s luring me on as of old; Yet it isn’t the gold that I’m wanting So much as just finding the gold. It’s the great, big, broad land ’way up yonder, It’s the forests where silence has lease; It’s the beauty that thrills me with wonder, It’s the stillness that fills me with peace. Robert W. I came upon this site by chance! I recall my second winter as an infantry brigade Captain stationed at Ft. Wainwright in 1971. We had it even colder, if that's imaginable, and it went down to -67 one day when we were out in the field. Just how brutal (and scary, too, when you're out in it) this temperature range is, cannot be fully understood if you haven't experienced it. You brought it about as close as someone can get to sensing it! What memories you triggered with this "COOL" video! Thanks! Rich Brennan

All of us on Perascope told him don’t forget to lock your doors. He said we have no need to lock our doors unlike you Americans. He said if somebody is caught stealing we can cut his hand off. 😳. I only recently started watching Yukon Men on Roku TV and just now found your KZread Channel while searching for season 6. Love the show but loving your videos even more! Thank you so much for this video and for taking us on this true tour of your beautiful town! I know it's hard work living there, but it's also so peaceful and serene! Love that sunrise on the video! So beautiful! 🌞💕

Reminds me of my Navy days. I was in the Submarine service and we went up across the Artic Circle many times. -80 degrees and colder there most of the trips. A steaming hot chocolate brought to you on the bridge while on watch and it was like a milkshake in 3 minutes. The good old days.

Had minus 14 F the other day in my yard in Anchorage, midtown area. Coldest it's been in a couple years. Enjoyed your video of life where the real cold is. Stay warm.

Happy New year Stan! I hear the squeaky snow. We hear it when it gets down around zero. Never gets wicked cold here on the island. Thanks so much for showing us the road to town and the 50-! Neat see Pat's place, the garage and power plant. Right into the sun! Oh the PO and store, you Churchs, school and other buildings! I spied payphone! The river looks awesome. Roads looks so well maintained. Neat to see the water trick!! Thanks so much for sharing with us. Good camera!

@@stanzuray thanks Stan I'm trying to pick out a camera. No easy task. We found a working payphone last year it was a neat find. I'll look into GoPro I always thought of them as for skiiers or snowboarding shots.
