Hey is this watch still working
Yup 👍🏻
No metal bracelet? Too bad...
Hopefully one day, but the rubber strap is very good 👍
Just found out about these while checking out Seiko 5s .... I think I need a chronograph now :(
It’s a beautiful watch on wrist 🙂
Nice looking watch!
Stealthy looking watch! I prefer the VK63 movement, which has a running seconds sub dial. The screw down pushers are a nice touch!
neotype? another new micro?
Yeah they've been around for a little while, second release
Finishing is abysmal.
It’s a prototype so likely to be better in production 👍🏻
The new ones have easy release pushers on the bracelet, and they have 1.5XL links available. You also dont have to remove the screws to resize it; you can just loosen them a little :)
@@danbar99 nice, thanks for the info 👍🏻
First time seeing a review of yours and really enjoyed it. Loved seeing your shots of the Ranger in its natural all-season habitats. Keep up the good work and im now so close to pulling the pin on the Ranger.
Thank you!….if you do, you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻
I’m really liking the look of this one Esbjorn! The mat dial looks good! I’ll check it out Friday.😎👍🏼
@@andrewd7586 Neotype is one to keep an eye on for sure
That misaligned RAAF logo 😢
@@JetPilotCI hmm….can’t say I even noticed to be honest! It’s a very close distance, check out the full review for more angles
@EsbjornWristwatchReviews I don't know about you man but no one I know is paying 1,300AUD for a watch with poor alignment no matter how close.
SSH019 owner here. I don't care that some people don't give much regard to Astron, I care little of the opinions of such people. Astron is the brand that first humiliated the Swiss, and it's the brand that continues to lead the way with time-keeping innovation.
Truly innovative devices, thanks for watching 👍🏻
My initial reaction to this watch is it looks like a very expensive swatch watch.
@@truesf345 yeah, I even had swatch watch feels before handling it
Really cool watch. I like it a lot but the case size it too big for my liking. My step dad was in the RAAF and he'd love this one.
Not a fan of RZE watches, this one though...
Ah, long time no see my friend 😊 And yes, this is a looker 👍🏻
Aaah that yellowy coloured lume filled GMT hand is an eyesore to an otherwise beautiful dial
@@JetPilotCI I quite like the contrast in the dark and it is classic RZE to mix up lume types 😊
I have to say Esbjorn that you consistently feature outstanding watches, but this one is by far one of the best, in my opinion. What a fantastic watch! I absolutely love it. RZE has done an incredible job. Wow ... wow ... wow 👍 👌 👏
Thank you my friend, and yes I totally agree...I can't tell you how much I liked this in person and the extra touches by team from Wolfpack Watches team just slots in so well!
@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews I was not familiar with Wolfpack Watches so I was happy to learn about them. Certainly a tremendous company, and the results of their partnership with RZE is purely an amazing piece to be cherished and appreciated for a life time.
You absolutely got my attention Esbjorn...
@@felo6035 it’s very very nice
@EsbjornWristwatchReviews Looking forward to your full review my friend 👍🙌
Sadly the new movment is starting to look unreliable.
@@MrPINKFL0YD let’s hope it’s just a few early bad apples
What does Traska logo mean anybody know?
It’s a ”knot” which I think is generally supposed to symbolise both complication and solution…and looks good too 🙂
I passed on this because of the locking bezel. Your review jogged my interest so I looked at their website and I just bought a NAVYGRAF SLIM CMM.20 LIMITED EDITION. So if Yema are reading this, you've got Esbjorn to thank for a sale.
Thanks so much, this should help with more watches lent to me in future :) Thanks for being here!
So beautiful..cheap watch with a quality of a luxury❤
Wow...just wow❤...cheap watch with the quality of luxury
Just over $5k now for the leather strap version, although just picked it up on sale for $3700 which is an absolute bargain for this piece.
Really nice. the bracelet looks fantastic.
@@rabadabadoo491 yeah it’s awesome 😊
..... think I will stick with my original near mint vintage Superman ..........
Good move, they are gorgeous
For me this is a tough one. Thankfully because I'm not so much into dive watches I don't have to toil over the proposition. I do appreciate that the thin microrotor in-house movement is what allows a capable svelte case and that is great, but I lament the consequences of cost and ease of servicing (probably) and the price hike that accompanies it. I welcome Yemas ambition, but that move up in this way removes the brand further from where I am comfortable and that is a regret, as some of their designs have all the flair one would want from the French. That said, while this may be a true evolutionary reinvention of the superman, there have been various variants in recent history that I found more attractive and charming in their design cues. This one, while well executed, is on the boring side, also compared to the Marin for example. The one exception to that is that bracelet, which is just simply a great looking style, though the lack of articulation would worry me a little. Not including microadjust is just a bit careless or stingy, it would seem. I hope the new course will yet bring some more excitement to their watches too, as in terms of design they had been on a decent course already.
Yeah it's funny how when brands don't do inhouse movements, people complain but often not realising what it means for servicing so it is an excellent point. Either way, you can buy variants with more conventional movement and one has to applaud the work that's gone to making this since they are certainly not the biggest brand in the world! I do like the bracelet very much too :)
I ordered a watch from Yema on June 12th (not a pre-order). They finally shipped it this morning (July 4th) Never again!
That would be annoying! Hope it’s worth the wait 😊
Esbjorn a very nice model again from Yema! I’ve got the quartz Superman, re French Airforce Edition along with the Navygraf. Both very good watches! I actually wore both of them only yesterday, but not at the same time! That’d be weird!😵💫🤣 I also bought a vintage model some 12 months ago as an occasional wear.👍🏼😎
Haha, left and right wrist 😆 Yeah I think Yema is going from strength to strength!
best part is the bracelet
@@zillsburyy1 it’s very cool 👍🏻
Non hacking isnt a deal breaker but it's definitely disappointing. Shame to be so accurate without that feature
Yes it's a shame but agree, not a deal breaker. It's a gorgeous watch that I liked very much.
I ve been saving to buy this watch for a while now (I make minimum wage) and was gonna finally order it yesterday but my bike got wrecked. Life sucks sometimes. 😔
Gah, that sucks! Sorry to hear this. They've been out for a little while now so hopefully you might start seeing some second hand ones soon. Good luck!
@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews I’m a germaphobe I just can’t own anything second hand. I’ll just take the L like I always do.
God damn that is a gorgeous dial
I put mine on an Ali Express presidential bracelet. I found the NATO made it sit too high on my wrist. On waste, I've taught myself enough to be able to change a movement.
Did my eyes deceive me or does that movement not hack? It’s a beautiful watch but had to overlook issues like that at this price. Fantastic photography
Thank you and for watching. Your eyes do not deceive …some interesting info on why here: atelierwen.com/blogs/journal/the-sl1588a
Great vid mate, keep it up
Thank you, appreciated
Tbh with a non in house movement or very ornate or interesting finishing to the movement I’d rather see an engraved metal case back especially considering the inspiration, have a volcano/mountain on the whole case back. Maybe the volcano on special edition red dial and mountains / glaciers on the others.
Nice idea 👍
It is incredibly fun to see a top tier watch being given the same considered and critical treatment as the many micros. I must admit that among the truly established and historical luxury brands, I have a weak spot for Chopard. Indeed, I would tend to agree that I'd prefer this over the Nautilus and the Royal Oak. It certainly has its own identity and style. I love the look of the bracelet, and I supoose anyone who's spending this much would be right to expect the boutique/dealer to take care of sizing and do it right. I didn't realise the detailing on the seconds counterweight until now. Very attractive. While I will probably maintain that I'd prefer the small seconds salmon version, your review has also reasserted the venerable beauty of the predecessor. In footage that date actually feels really well placed and it does work with the overall styling. All that aside, if I were shopping at Chopard, I might sooner still be swayed by that gorgeous updated LUC 1860. While I've warmed to bracelets, I still think I wouldn't wear it every day. And if it's going to be super luxury from this brand that that superlative contemporary classic styling of the dressy LUC 1860 is where I'd likely feel most at home.
Thank you for saying that, it's so nice to be able to borrow pieces like this and treat it exactly the same as any other watch and it's even nicer when doing so it proves itself as a luxury piece worth aspiring to. I love the LUC 1860 too ..
I’d take a Chopard over a “holy trinity” brand any day. And over a Rolex, for that matter. Not that I can afford any of them. lol
Hahaha, well we all could but you know, bills and food…..
No microadjustment = would never ever purchase, regardless of how nice the watch is. When the weather is warm, I use the Easylink every day, sometimes several times.
Yes I understand that feedback for sure, particularly living in Australia where temperatures can vary wildly
Beautiful watch and worthy of high praise and grail status. Thank you for sharing Esbjorn 👍
Thank you as always 😊
@@EsbjornWristwatchReviews👍🙌
Ahhh the butthole dial emerges again. Can’t unsee it. 😳
Super cool watch with amazing design. Looks great and price is affordable for a decently made automatic watch. Staggeringly built in the UK. Surely with all the Swiss and Chinese watches this will rival the lower end quality watch market. Not overpriced mass produced Swiss excellence, but British no nonsense craftsmanship. The colour schemes are very eye catching indeed.
Need a green one. It's a turtle
Good call 😄
Beautiful dial, but I wish it didn't have the date complication... Great macros 👌
Thanks and yeah, as you know I hate the date dials! But it’s quite cool how it is angled for the dial 😊
I wasn't expecting something as highbrow as this. Looking forward to it. May prefer the small seconds salmon version, but will enjoy the deep dive with you.
@@benjaminvis thanks and yes haha, normal service shall resume soon 😆
@@EsbjornWristwatchReviewsI agree, the date positioning was done really well 👌
It's not my style (although I am tempted) but it is beautifully made
Yes sums up how I feel also 👍🏻
Had my 42mm for a week now. Absolutely love the look and quality. Lots of admiring glances at every event we go to...
It is a truly beautiful watch 👍🏻
This is a great variant of this watch. You've pictured and described it beautifully. It's unfortunate that despite the value proposition it actually represents it's still a bit beyond what I'd normally like to think I might once consider. But I see a genuinely craft focused independent effort like this along a brand like Nicholas Hauck. What would I choose if pitched against each other, I wonder?
