I love that...does your home serve you, or do you serve your home? This is the question that caused us to recently sell our large family home and downsize. As empty nesters looking ahead to retirement, we didn't want to spend all of our time and money to maintain our home. We are now in a smaller place that I feel serves us, rather than the other way around! Thanks for your content. I recently found you and am enjoying watching your videos.

I fully agree. I have got rid of several items and realised that for years now, I have been using them, but mostly to justify buying them. I could have saved myself money and space, and would have lost nothing.

Unsubscribing from junk email is a bad idea. Unless the email is from a credible source you know or do business with, clicking unsubscribe on random junk mail tells the spammer your email is active and you’re observing it… which will only lead them to send you MORE junk mail.

Love this. I definitely need to make decluttering a regular part of my life. I try to add a new daily habit to my life every 6 months or so until it just becomes part of my daily routine. I commit to doing those things daily. I don’t set a time limit on them, so some days I might only read one page in a book and that’s ok. Some things I do every day now consistently are - guided meditation when I first wake up ( even if it’s only a 3 minute one some days), read a book, learn a language on Duolingo, write in my gratitude journal, walk the dog ( only excuse is if I’m sick). At the moment I’m adding daily drawing or painting but struggling a bit with consistency with this one so far 😄

The fact is that buying something for Americans is the norm, it is done regularly and it has become a habit. For me, as a European, this is very strange, we are used to living by nature, walks, the quality of communication and buying something as necessary and of high quality, so that it serves for a long time. Therefore, to change such a habit, you need to work on it, find what really makes you happy. Because shopping gives joy only for a short period of time. Where people are long-lived - they engage in hobbies, communicate with each other a lot and in a positive way.

Our perception of a "successful life" in modern times is predicated on the business as usual (BAU) system that the "powers that be" created (with their money/debt control of everything) and continue to let exist. Therefore: 1) Get rid of your mobile phone and other wireless devices 2) Get off social media completely like you don't exist 3) Get out of the cities and learn to do everything yourself WITHOUT external supply chains 4) Get together with others that think the same and have competent PRACTICAL skills (e.g. I'm NOT talking about coding here) Thankfully (according to some like me) the powers that be have decided that BAU won't be around much longer and they are forcibly collapsing us at an accelerated pace. If you have two brain cells to rub together, you should be able to conclude the same from the events of the past 4+ years. What is planned for us in the near future (5-10 years) is a million times worse, so again get TRULY independent before reality forces you to, and stop equating success to the accumulation of imaginary digits in some database somewhere that can be taken from you instantly based on what you say or think (go read up on bank BAILINS). Remember folks, China is a prototype for what they want for the rest of us, and it still gets far worse from there.

How just purposing to “do the dishes” (often and consistently) changed my whole relationship with my entire home and greatly improved my mental health. Lol. As they say tho. One thing leads to another…which can be a bad thing or a good thing. But it also is true that decluttering played a huge role in that also. But that too wasn’t what most folks would call a “big” thing. Well you know tho. Thank you Dana K White. Lol. Another one for me was simply consider myself and my own needs for a change and say NO more often.

Amen amen amen! Draw your satisfaction by walking in Gods ways . I have spoiled myself rotten with a very good income and l can tell you it was all a meaningless waist of time. Our wicked culture has normalized madness in its material pursuits. We were created to bring glory to God. I can tell you that is the happiest most fulfilling life possible! Thanks Josh for what you do!

This water thing is some strange american obsession. Old, proofen medical systems like chinese medecin or ayurveda don't consider this as healthy. They suggest to listen to your body and to dring only when you feel thirsty (older people might loose this sensitivity). Drink when you take your meals, drink warm water/tea/soup. Stop drinking all the time because somebody tells you it is healthy.

Everything in moderation. 100% hustling is not good, but having extremely simple life is maybe also not. Work, not too much, be happy with what you have, strive for more, but dont let it affect you too much, everything in moderation..

I get a much better kick out of seeing my savings grow than I ever did shopping. I wish I could have seen your videos in my 20’s and 30’s, would have had a lot more money now. I have gotten my 2 daughters to start watching your videos too 😊
