I have a 38 B and have trouble starting it ,more overly knowing I’m not flooding it. I do a similar procedure and usually get one or two fires . Maybe I’m leaving the choke on too long . I will try turning it off after the fires.

I came across this video by a random you tube algorithm. First off I don't want to criticize your process but it is a little out of date and 12 years ago it was the way things were done. I live in Ca. the chances of finding a caustic tank are pretty slim. The newest process is thermal cleaning with a shot peen blast after. This process eliminates all need for scraping and hand work on the block. I personally chase every hole in the blocks with a tap or thread chaser. If you continue to use the caustic bath this is especially important. After thermal cleaning the taps almost spin like a helicopter. Not chasing threads will cause inaccurate torque on the fasteners. This is crucial on the heads and mains especially. The only problem with the thermal clean is flash rust and that can be taken care of with WD40. always do a final cleaning of the block with a brush kit and degreaser.

If the impeller or pulley flange of your pump has pulling holes, best plan is to pull them first. Sometimes there’s something hidden behind the pulley that’s important to know before you break the housing! Most water pump housings aren’t all that strong. when you get to pressing and the impeller is stuck, you can crack the housing. Sometimes you have to do it that way, but it’s best to pull impeller if there’s a provision to do it.

Most don't have petcocks. I found a little higher octane helps with the initial startup.

Completamente de acuerdo, de hecho, antes de medir la proyección de la camisa siempre se revisa que las camisas, sin sellos, entren libres hasta el fondo, luego de revisar medidas se coloca el sello y si es necesario jabón, vaselina o lubricante según indique el fabricante y se instalan las camisas igualmente usando alguna herramienta que permita colocarlas con mayor facilidad.

This is a great vid, but your particular seal style does not contact the impeller shaft as you indicate with a clearance fit, however there are ones that are an interference fit on the shaft and need to be pressed on. The pressed bushing of the seal will turn with the shaft in that design. You should have mentioned the press fit design as well in the video to avoid confusion to the assembler when they go to "slip" the seal over the shaft and it interferes.

What if liner is too loose after it is installed? Should I use use some kind of selling compound or should I get a slightly oversized liner?

Depends on which area is loose, if in the o-ring area, the engine will have to be machined as a rule depending on the make. If the counter-bore is loose, the engine will have to be pulled and a whole sleeve can be made to renew the counter bore.

Question: Why does tractor not run with return line tighten down at the pump if diesel is dripping out of return line tractor gets power and runs fine, fuel seems to be dripping out back in tank though with no restrictions.

Wondering what you would do got 3010 that is sized .we pulled injectors removed oil pan can see crankshaft has touched balancer.it is still lucked up I have never done this before.two shines and a small oblong spring came out. Thanks
