54:18 - This has gotta be one of the best-told stories of witnessing a drag race I've ever heard. You can tell that was the first moment John put himself on the other side of the fiberglass and thought what everyone else thinks when they see a loved one strapped to one of these beasts. I've watched this video about half a dozen times. And every time, I listen to that story about 10 times in a row.

And as you can see Gene Patterson is the ONLY ONE........ out of the crew, drivers, adult and child fans that had this problem.........NO ONE ELSE in that place had a problem other than him. Then he soon quits Bigfoot and jumps from team to team to team and gets no where. Things that make you go hmmm🤔

i can't believe this place lost its monster truck vibe and sat abandoned for years before being turned into a motorcross park. As of now the place is temporarily closed. I hope it reopens again

Imagine the poor audience member without cable or knowledge of pro wrestling attending the event live, seeing Dusty Rhodes come out in a pickup truck parade announcing the TV show's new format. You'd be wondering what the heck was going on, to say the least.

The clock? They were taking this too serious back then given these massive machines that these guys mostly single handedly built back then.. digger should’ve been given enough time to put proper air in his tire and he would’ve won this hands down. That’s so crazy to me… “hey let’s let a 10,000lb machine that is the livelihood of the driver take off without enough air in a tire.. screw the safety of him and the all fans and workers as well.. and hey let’s screw him in the end!”.. sounds about right

If I recall, the PENDA rule book only counted it as a DQ if the red-light sensor was activated at the start line. They just kept it to the technology rather than make it a judgment call.

Those hydro barriers certainly did their job. The left lane doomed the competitors. Awesome races: Bearfoot- Carolina Crusher and Bearfoot - Bigfoot (Fred Shafer, full speed or nothing)... 1:10 amazing Ford trucks meeting.

I find it funny that Gene Patterson's Missouri accent practically helped give away that Colt Cobra wasn't really from Cobra Creek, Colorado. I'm guessing that's the reason why that weird Bigfoot vs. Snake-Bite video had Colt overdubbed by an ultra-hammy "evil"-sounding voice actor. 29:43 I bet there was some fans in the crowd who were also railfans and couldn't decide on watching the trains pass by or watching the trucks race!
