I've gotta say, "Australia is so awesome, you will know how terrible you are there" doesn't really unsell it to me. Maybe it's because my sister lives in Australia and I already feel insecure next to her - psychologist, mother, academic and on top of all that, cool, funny, fashionable and a great listener. The weather is more likely to make me reluctant to visit, and that's only because she's in Melbourne and both summer and winter are killer. At least in Brisbane, only summer is killer.

@Kattar Communist That's one instance of racism in one place. Australia's a huge country. Chances are you were just unlucky. One person in Sydney Airport doesn't make everyone in the country racist. Also, what minority are you? How do you KNOW their behaviour was racism and not some other ism? I think there's some sexism or ageism in some Aussies.

very much agree about the minimal other countries from which you can generally banter with a given member of its population. Aus/Eng, and Aus/NZ are the two that 'll say as an australian we would do that with. depressingly minimal list reallly

2 guesses. 1. Promoting binge drinking by saying 24 beers per day for 4 days, is lightweight. 2. BBC claimed rights on product they no longer care for

Certainly none of the other reasons mentioned, it's easy to explain - there's ad breaks on Dave, but the show still has to fit in a one hour slot, so they have to cut out bits to make roon for commercials. Shame really

When they first aired this on Aussie (commercial) tv. They had the Gall to show some of the best funny bits in the Adds for the Show, and then stupidly dropped them for the actual show, due to excessive add breaks. How Dumb is that?
