Welcome to season two of Mandy and Kyle!
About us:
We are Mandy and Kyle. We finally decided to pursue a dream we've had for the past decade and a half: to go see the world. Along with our two daughters and our dog, Penelope, we set off to see the world. We started in Italy, and fell in love with being on the road traveling. Shortly after returning, we couldn't shake the feeling we were supposed to be traveling more often, and longer than just a vacation. So, we sold almost everything we own and packed our bags to move across the ocean.
On season two of Mandy and Kyle, we will show you all the places we visit, and share with you the ups and downs of living in a different country where you don't speak the language.
We are so happy you are here!

Okay, found it on airbnb! Enjoyed your video!
i am disabled and going to rome in sept so hired a car from the airport but staying outside rome because its far cheaper but good to see you and the family are ok good luck in future travels .
A very peculiar editing choice did your video in a special way…greetings! Lisbon is quantity, Porto is quality. Sorry, you only visited less than 10% Porto reality! Porto isn’t a map spot but Porto is a feeling, a magical feeling! Prosit!
I remember seeing you both on the marginal riding your skateboard. I think you’re the only person I’ve ever seen riding a skateboard so it sticks out in my memory.
Loved this! Came across your channel as I may be moving to Nazare for the winter months and was wondering how do you travel with your girls? Do you homeschool them?
Hilarious and so enjoyable. We will be there in October.

Podiam ter ido à Ilha Das Berlengas www.google.com/search?q=ilha+das+Berlengas&oq=ilha+das+Berlengas+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQLhiABDIHCAIQABiABDIICAMQLhgWGB4yCAgEEAAYFhgeMggIBRAAGBYYHjIICAYQABgWGB4yCAgHEAAYFhgeMggICBAAGBYYHtIBCjE0MDExajBqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 The Berlengas Archipelago is a small archipelago located on the Portuguese continental shelf, 5.7 miles from Cabo Carvoeiro (Peniche). It is made up of a group of small islands and coastal reefs distributed across three groups: Ilha da Berlenga, Estelas and Farírios-Forcadas. The largest islands reach a height of around 90 m, but the remaining islets and rocks are small, sometimes barely touching the surface of the sea. The Berlengas Archipelago presents a biological heritage of high conservation interest, both in terms of its terrestrial island ecosystem that encompasses endemic plants, protected habitats and hosts the nesting of several species of threatened seabirds, and in terms of the vulnerable surrounding marine ecosystem, one of the richest in Portuguese waters. The complex geomorphology of the islands and islets that form the archipelago is also unique. Human presence and influence over time are inseparable from the archipelago. The importance of the Berlengas Archipelago as an island ecosystem, the biological value of the surrounding marine area, the high botanical interest, the role of the island in terms of marine birdlife and the presence of interesting archaeological and underwater heritage contributed to the fact that, in September 1981, the archipelago was classified as a Natural Reserve. The Berlengas Natural Reserve (RNB) includes the entire surface area of the group of small islands and islets, as well as the adjacent marine area, with bottoms up to a maximum depth of 520 m. The value and importance of this area for biodiversity conservation at European level were subsequently recognized when it was classified as a Special Protection Area for Wild Birds and integrated into the Natura 2000 Network. In 2011, UNESCO awarded the classification of World Biosphere Reserve to the Berlengas Archipelago, Portugal's fifth archipelago. The murrelet - Uria aalge, a bird adopted as a symbol of the Natural Reserve and, in many ways, very similar to the penguin of Antarctic landscapes, has its only nesting site on Berlenga Island in Portugal.
That is so interesting! It’s such an interesting place. I wish we had more time to understand and learn about it more while we were there. Thank you for sharing! :)
Agora sim, vocês surpreenderam-me com a Dona (Senhora) Rosa, que linda empatia e carinho, muito bem, parece-me que ainda continuam humanos, isso é muito bom!❤
Thank you very much! We appreciate you watching and your comment. 💕
@@mandyandkyle Sorte e saúde, que gozem bem as maravilhas de Portugal. Há poucos ainda, espero que Portugal se mantenha assim, belo e simpático.

Thank you! You too! Ah, yes Harry Potter is on our list for next time, too. :) Thanks for watching!
You really looked like you had the time of your life.
We did! It was so much fun. ♥️
So pretty❤❤❤
Seville is definitely charming! Thank you for watching! :)
I'm going to guess that Kyle is a Capricorn and Mandy is a Virgo.
Interesting! Kyle is a Libra and Mandy is a Pisces. :) Thank you for watching! Happy holidays.
MAGICAL
London truly is! Thanks for watching :)
Absolutely yes.😊
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Let us know what you think of the video and if we chose the right Christmas bauble! Happy holidays everyone!
Fun stuff. I bet it felt magical. I spend most of my Christmas's in NY.. which is the US Christmas city. I imagine London to be pretty special at Christmas but I'm wondering if you have spent time in Lisboa yet, during Natal. I found it to be beyond magical. It's what I dreamed Christmas in Europe would be. Thank you for sharing your visit to London :) Merry Christmas - Feliz Natal - Happy Holidays!!
Ah, we LOVE New York! When we were in the states we tried to go to NYC as much as possible. It is one of our favorite places. We spent last Christmas in Lisboa! It was so wonderful! We loved going to all the holiday markets. Lisboa holds such a special place in our hearts. We especially loved new years there! Merry Christmas and Feliz Natal to you! We hope your holidays are absolutely wonderful.
Looks wonderful ❤
Thank you! We really enjoyed it <3
Definitely a unique experience. You made a great choice. The area has much to offer. Dino Park, Supertubos Beach, Praia da Areia Branca to mention a few.
We can't wait to go back to see more of Peniche! We will put your location suggestions on our list! Thanks! You are completely right- it really does have so much to offer. We are constantly amazed at how beautiful and interesting central Portugal is.
awww how'd you get Penelope over seas?
Not very easily haha! We had to hire a pet transport service to make sure she was set to fly, and fly her to us. We were hoping to bring her on the plane, but she is too large. But we got here here and now she is happy as can be :). Thanks for watching!
@@mandyandkyle Awww I bet she is! Plan is in 3 years to move to Portugal and bring my 10 lb Shiatzu with us. Just wasn't sure how that was going to work. So that is why I love your channel now LOL
You may be able to bring your shiatzu on the plane with you, since it’s a small breed (depending on airline). We couldn’t because our dog is 60 pounds. But you may have better luck than we did! You will love Portugal! Best of luck on your move! Thanks for watching! :)
Boa Tarde Mandy & Kyle... Olá! This one (video) was very special to me. I lived in Atouguia da Baleia for 3 months... just up the road from your moinho de vento!! From the first shots of it, I knew exactly where you were (I drove by a few times, when traveling to Óbidos for my Portuguese lessons). Peniche is near and dear to my heart. The entire area is. It was my first trip to Europe and I landed in the Peniche area because a friend of mine (from NZ) purchased a house in Atouguia and was heading back to New Zealand for the warmer temps (it was the end of November when I arrived) but for this Canadian, Portugal in winter was perfect! I was very fortunate... I had her house to myself and her car. I got to explore many areas during my 3 months there... and when I eventually... finally move I intend to land right back in the Atouguia da Baleia / Peniche area. I loved how it wasn't very touristy in the winter... mostly Portuguese people living their day-to-day lives. I'm not a surfer but I really enjoyed watching the surfers and learning about the waves. I loved exploring and enjoyed the rugged Ilhéu da Papôa AND the same rugged coastline off the northern tip of Baleal Island, the sunsets were most magnificent from the Western-facing Cabo Carvoeiro in Peniche. It is a wonderful, centrally located area of Portugal and close to many terrific places to explore and although I had a car, easy to get to from Lisboa by bus. So, a huge obrigada from me. I miss it. p.s. Can you please drop a link to the Moinho rental? That is one of the best renovations I've seen... it's kind of my dream too Mandy :) Kyle I know you are super tall... Mandy how tall are you? I'm only 5'1" so I think for me the height in all the rooms would be good!
Olá Jen! I apologize for our late reply- we are traveling to the UK! Oh, wow that is so cool you lived there! We were in your old stomping grounds! Peniche is such an incredible town. We were so touched by how friendly and welcoming everyone was there. You’re right, it does feel much more local than touristy and we LOVE that so much. It’s so much fun getting to know the locals and learn more about their culture. We aren’t surfers either, but we are so impressed with the people out there riding the waves. We tried once and got all bruised 🤣. Isn’t Papôa a dream? Happy to hear how much you loved Papôa, too! We can’t wait to go back and see more of Peniche! Oh, yes! You would love the air bnb. Let me see if I can find the listing. I’m 5’9” and I had to duck a little, but it wasn’t too bad. It was very cozy! I’ll post the link here as soon as I find it. Thank you for watching! :)

Will you spend The ‘Holidays’ in the UK? That will be lovely! I spent Christmas in Portugal… it was a dream. Lisboa, especially was amazing. I also spent a lot of time in Óbidos over Christmas and that was super special!!. It was magical. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Enjoy, how ever you celebrate! Obrigada for all the beautiful videos!!@@mandyandkyle
Wonderful! Obrigada Mandy!!! I’ll fit in quite well, at my height! @@mandyandkyle
Impressed by the windmill very well kept and restored you would be surprised be the many abandoned windmills across the country, there are plenty to recover. I’m from Minho region up north but love Peniche. You guys having so much fun so jealous 😅 enjoying watching you both
Isn’t the windmill great? We are so impressed with how well they restored it! Now you’ve got us thinking about restoring one ourselves knowing how many abandoned ones there are. Haha! We haven’t made it to the Minho region yet, but we hear it’s beautiful! Thanks for watching! :)
Peniche is incredible. Maybe we should live the windmill life full time :-).
(Monica voice) I know!!!!!
Hi, everyone! Thanks for watching! Let us know what you think! : )
Looks amazing. Let's see that cooking show Kyle.
Don't tempt him- he will do it! Haha!
Those were not churros, they are called porras.
Ah, good to know! Thanks for letting us know! :)
En Sevilla lo llamamos churros, de ahí el nombre de churrería.
