    Kara said it all: "There's no need for more chaos at this point." Everybody is in line and on board and that is nothing short of miraculous for the Democratic Party. It's positively refreshing and frankly is helping to fuel the excitement. I think Mark Kelly as VP would check a lot of boxes for the voters and strategically as well and would make a STRONG ticket. But my heart still hurts for Biden. It was an emotional weekend I think for most. I agree with Scott although in a different order. I felt profound sadness for Joe, and then relief that this torturous decision was finally made. The excitement kicked in On Monday. Let's keep it going!

    I first learned of Harris back in 2004. A local radio station aired a three-way debate of the candidates running for San Francisco district attorney, Harris is being one of them. Both of the other candidates were men, one snide in demeanor and condescending towards Harris, while the other was downright vitriolic towards her. What struck me was how unflappable and composed she was. Less than midway through the debate it was more than apparent which candidate had all the self possession, poise and presence, and that was Harris.

    Kara Swisher is terrible. She's ok with having no rules or process, as long as it's what SHE wants. She makes excuses for the same shit she'd lose her head over, if the shoe were on the other foot.

    True: The “coronation” isn’t very democratic. But it is 10 times more democratic that’s what Trump presents: Straight up authoritarianism.

  • @jklappenbach
    @jklappenbach16 сағат бұрын

    I keep hearing "Coronation", as if anyone in the Democratic leadership chose her. Biden did, but his choice wasn't enough. But that's not why she's shored up all the delegates. I'll let you know a little secret: Threads has more Daily Active users than Twitter. And it all went down on Threads. People organically chose Kamala, coalesced around her, and donated over $100M in less than 24 hours. That kind of signal was a tidal wave upon the party, not to be ignored. Pelosi, Obama, Schumer, Schiff? They all wanted an open process, as though as though they could control the circus that would result. Nope. The people decided this. Women decided this. And if you weren't on Threads, you probably still have no idea what just happened. So, no, this wasn't a coronation. This wasn't decisions from the top. This was grass roots, a million raindrops collecting into a mighty river. And Kamala is going to win.

    I'm tired of hearing coronation or anointing. "The primary responsibility of the Vice President of the United States is to be ready at a moment's notice to assume the Presidency if the President is unable to perform his or her duties." This should be shouted from rooftops. With all the possible scenarios, Harris would have become president. Joe can faithfully finish his term. He went from national treasure to hero, displaying his wisdom, love of country and vanquishing DJT and those behind Project 2025 or what I have dubbed, "Treason for Dummies." Wait to see polls of voters under age 30, Women and rational human beings in the coming months. Harris will ignite patriotism and be a great president. BTW, America has always been great, the MAGA cult premise is a slogan of an arsonist posing as a fireman.

    This is absolutely a coronation. This was the perfect chance for Democrats to bring in someone articulate, and exciting. Dean Phillips was completely ignored by the party. A huge opportunity completely missed…. it’s politics as usual. Andrew Cuomo would’ve also been a terrific choice. He would absolutely pummel Trump. Like it or not, that is what’s required. If you really want to think outside the box, Obama could run on the ticket as VP. This is not prohibited in the constitution.

    DEI is just code for the n-word, and marks you as a racist. So, let's hear all your insightful views on why she's only there because she's black. She was the DA for San Francisco, the AG for California, then a Senator with California. None of those were participation trophies. In fact, she won elections for both AG and Senate positions. You only get there through excellence.

    perfect example of narrative formation in real time. Scott looks disoriented the entire time and sad, still saying what he knows he has to say. Kara is stumping with her words and reaching for adjectives the whole time to describe someone they both know is a laughingstock and incompetent for office.

    Biden knee capped the Democratic Party, and the election is still Trump’s to lose because he destroyed their credibility. People didn’t want to trust Trump after January 6th and mishandling classified documents and Biden has brought the Democrats down to his level. Did nothing to advance the next generation in his own ‘only I can do it’ narcissism. Many are pretending he’s some hero when that’s far from the case.
