Splitting the company destroys the value of their flagship sci-fi franchise, Star Trek. Paramount owns the film rights, CBS the TV rights. Selling off the TV business would immediately make this franchise less valuable to buyers.

Apollo (debt financiers) is the grownups and successful film producers are children? Hmm, that's one take, Scott.

This will be split into bits - and I expect Apple to buy the Star Trek brand which fits perfectly with its AppleTV offering

Shari is right in that the offers are not valuing what the sum of the parts are, but b/c of the debt Paramount has is one more leg down in terms of the stock price to where all the players interested in it, will just wait until they have no choice but to file bankruptcy and they can all just fight over the bones for .25 on the dollar.

Sitting on over $2B in cash and can sell assets as needed. No bankruptcy threat

this will be unpopular w/ some of your guests but asking fans, just be open minded pls w/ reverse empathy and respect. Could care less of sexuality, race, creed, gender and I'm almost 60 w/ 2 kids. However, question and not sure where to send it to submit for your podcast. When can we get over having to mention those things so often in conversations? This is what turns so many off and creates friction and enemies IMHO. My mom's group doesn't open up to acceptance b/c it's so "in your face". Peer at work wears the tats, talks about his gay trips, tshirts and over the top recap of escapades rather than just talking about human things (eg. weather, good restaurants, great movie on Netflix just watched...) Isn't it time for all to quit w/ the showcase and flamboyance of the "tribe" they belong to? I like a sports team but tone it down other than game day b/c it's kinda an ass move to take it everywhere. Isn't it? Especially in neutral areas like workplace, interacting w/ colleagues etc? Truly a sincere question and hope taken as same.

Whoever is going to buy this train wreck should wait and check the price every 90 days as Paramount can't pay their bills the price to buy the company will go down.

This is what Shari is waiting for, A white knight offer from Apple, Amazon, or Google where they offer her the moon site unseen, with a 5 year guarantee that they won't split it up. Shari has LOST more money walking away from the deal in a lower stock price than if she had taken the deal.
