Henry all in, materials, carpet, labor (such as mud, tape, texture), was roughly $9,000

wakeboarderboyutah really?? That’s not as bad as I thought! I was thinking like $15k. Did you hire professionals or contractors or did you do it on your own and with friends and family?
@wakeboarderboyutah5 жыл бұрын
Henry mostly did it myself with the help of friends and family. Hung the drywall myself but paid someone to do the mud, tape, and texture. Also paid to have the carpet done. Other than that, it was all DIY. Square footage was roughly 700 and no bathroom. I’ve since moved and just finished the basement at a new house that’s around 1,200 sq. Ft with a bathroom. Contracted most of that out and it put me back about $30k.

I love it! Most nurseries are over the top anymore. This one is beautiful and elegant. It just looks so inviting. I would add one thing though, a TV on the wall for mommy when she's up all night with Allie. It's a perfect time to watch some Lifetime movies! Just saying...

C Brown Standard 5 blade made by Hunter with a remote control. We wanted to be able to change the fan speed from outside of the room if needed. I also prefer the visible bulbs facing down rather than covered by glass that dims the light output.

Leanne Ching thanks! At the time, I was working full time and a full time student so this occupied many nights and weekends. Start to finish, it was about 6 months or so.

what color did you paint the room? Great Job!!!
@wakeboarderboyutah6 жыл бұрын
Aramis Grande thanks! Final color ended up as Excalibur from Sherwin Williams (satin finish). The first attempt came out too purple and we decided it was easier to repaint before moving any furniture in.

Three days to paint that room? Lol. Well it turned out beautiful. Only thing I would have done differently would be not to have that ceiling fan and instead have a cute little chandelier.

You may also notice a repaint in there. The first “gray” was actually more purple than we thought. We ended up going back and getting a true gray and painting again. Happy wife, happy life. And happy husband when the repaint happens prior to furniture being moved in. :)

The fan actually makes sense for a nursery, natural air flow works to calm newborns.
