Basement Time-lapse

This clip is a time-lapse over about 6 months or so of me (along with the help of many others that knew what they were doing) finishing my basement and integrating a home theater setup.

Leanne Ching thanks! At the time, I was working full time and a full time student so this occupied many nights and weekends. Start to finish, it was about 6 months or so.

oldgordo61 glad you enjoyed it. The song can be found on bensound.com. I don’t recall the name of it but it’s one of the more popular tracks.

Henry all in, materials, carpet, labor (such as mud, tape, texture), was roughly $9,000

wakeboarderboyutah really?? That’s not as bad as I thought! I was thinking like $15k. Did you hire professionals or contractors or did you do it on your own and with friends and family?

Henry mostly did it myself with the help of friends and family. Hung the drywall myself but paid someone to do the mud, tape, and texture. Also paid to have the carpet done. Other than that, it was all DIY. Square footage was roughly 700 and no bathroom. I’ve since moved and just finished the basement at a new house that’s around 1,200 sq. Ft with a bathroom. Contracted most of that out and it put me back about $30k.

@@wakeboarderboyutah Did you have to take out a loan for this or did you do it with your own cash?

Henry did both basements with cash.
