    Nice boat! You may want to consider getting some oar locks and a pair of rowing oars. Enjoy and take care.

    This is a beast of a boat. In a lot heavier than any Lund I have used. All welded and no rivets makes this heavier than what it looks. It plows through the waves

    I know this is an old video and you aren't posting much on YT, but how stable is this boat? I am 350lbs 6'3 and I feel like the hull is more of a Mod-V then a Deep-V from all the pictures/videos I saw, which makes me wonder if it would be good for lakes with choppy waters. Usually Mod-Vs are having a roller coaster type of ride over here when wind picks up, so I'd like to not tip over. I'm thinking of buying the SVW-16 version because of its width and additional load carrying capacities (mostly because of my weight, gear and fuel would push it to about half of the 14 so with 2 friends, i'd be over limit)

    I am 230lb. And it’s stable when underway in lakes, however I find that because I have no one to go on the water with, I’m tilted uncomfortably to the starboard when trolling. I have had it out in 4 foot waves but needed t sit more in the centre. I would have bought a 16 foot but it would be too much for me to load by myself, due to the weight of the welded aluminum. If I had friends to go with I would,go with the 16 foot for sure.

    @@marlonme7020 Gotcha! Thanks for the quick reply! I am very aware of the "natural" leaning boats do, I always tend to put the batteries, anchors and cooler on the other side of me with the fishes I want to eat, so it kinda balance things out. How is it holding up? Are the welds still intact? Is the hull damaged from the choppy water? Is the transom still solid and straight? I don't know much about Marlon. I'm interested in their products because it is relatively cheap for a all welded aluminum boat, and I'd rather go the "brand new" route and do my specific layout than an old Princecraft that I'd need to redo the interior anyway for the layout.

    I was very concerned about the quality of this boat because I did not hear very much about them before buying it. The only information that I found was that they sell a lot of them in Australia. I believe most of them are made in Vietnam .They are used mostly for fish, net, tending boats attached to large commercial, fishing boats, I am very impressed with the stability of the welds. The transom is very robust and over built in my opinion. I do have a transom saver on my motor, however, would feel comfortable without one if I had to. I have bashed through some pretty gnarly waves, and even ran over a log at one point absolutely no damage and no bending No issue with the Welds. I did make a huge mistake with my drain plug, and when launched it sunk the boat right to the motor. Luckily, motor was not swamped yet but boat was half full of water and resting on the bottom of the boat launch only about 2 feet deep. I connected the winch on my trailer and Winsted water, and all onto the trailer to let it drain. Was too panicked to take pictures as I just wanted to get it out of the water water drained out absolutely no damage put the plug-in and went home as I was too tired and pissed off to go boating.

    @@marlonme7020 I won't argue with you on where they sell them the most and where they're being made, but it feels weird to read Australia and Vietnam, when their webpage states that it originated in British Columbia, Canada. They have their head office in British Columbia, they do have warehouses in Alberta, Manitoba, Washing and California though. I don't know, but Australia would feel counter intuitive, they don't have the same waters as we do and importing from Vietnam would cost quite a lot. Could still be true though, who knows... we import from China most of our electronics. Glad to read that the boat's been holding up pretty well through all of these things though, and glad to know that your motor didn't get swamped!

    @@peoplemeater Could you keep me posted please? I'm also looking at buying the 16ft V-hull version. From the comments of Marlon & Me, it seems like a pretty decent option compared to something like a 1990-ish Princecraft that sells for the same exact amount of money in my region, thus making it quite appealing...plus, who knows what could've happened to the Princecraft, while the Marlon would be brand new.

  • @peoplemeater
    @peoplemeater11 ай бұрын

    @@PunkR0ckz09 thats exactly why I bought new. Yeah it costs more, but at least everything is brand new. My first overall thought is that it seems pretty solid. A 16ft is HUGE lol. For a motor I'm throwing on a 9.9 tohatsu. I don't have to many big lakes so I'm fine with a small motor.

  • @PunkR0ckz09
    @PunkR0ckz0911 ай бұрын

    @@peoplemeaterwell, around here old '90s Princecraft sells somewhere in between 5K to 8K with or without trailers (depending on the models, obviously) and this Marlon sells for (if I remember properly) around 6.9K with the trailer... so it isn't more, its almost less... lol ! Especially knowing that those '90s need their transom redone for the most part, floors or rivets too. Yeah, I'm going to go for a 4 stroke Mercury, a 25hp from 2006. I'll need to find a console and a remote control for it, but that's an issue for another time, unless Marlon started selling side consoles. I read in a post from like 2 or 3 years ago that they were planning that, would be so ideal !
