Hello, my name's Dave, and I'm a musician from London, UK. I started Dave Conservatoire in 2011 to help people to learn music, no matter what their circumstances.
Inspired by non-profit educational sites like Khan Academy who teach millions of people for free, I wanted to see if I could do the same for people who wanted to learn, not just how to play music, but more importantly how music works.
Music, to me, is the most wonderful and interesting thing in the world, it brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. Music helps to heal and helps people to grow in confidence and express their ideas. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn about music and explore this wonderful world. Whether you are lucky enough to have a music teacher or are learning by yourself, I'm here to help you on your journey!

Hello, Dave! This was GREAT tutorial series, loved the rings jokes, and charismatic presentation! Great teacher! Greetings from Colombia, one of my future compositions (and pretty sure i'll talk about this tutorial with the people interested in sonic.pi) will be dedicated to you, friend!
Thank you so much
I am a visual learner and this was the best explanation IMO to grasp this concept of finding relative Major and Minor notes. Thank you so much🙏🏾🙏🏾
Why did my brain really liked the random stuff? 😅😅😅
How can I change the pitch of a sample? :)

Great foundation course, Dave. Thanks so much for putting this up.
NB: 'tijd' means time in Dutch and is pronounced a bit like tide in English. What's Sam's connection with The Netherlands?

I came here because I saw it on my friend coffee mug and I have no idea what it means .. decaf not allowed 😂
How do you know how fast or slow the beats are to be played with only a time signature and maybe a vague italian word ??
Considering doing this since florence and the machine is attending this yr! Really wanted to know what the proms was 😅
Not the topic I was looking for but a valuable and thoughtful lesson in intervolics.

'The natural will change the note for the duration of that bar AND ONLY that bar' This rule has confused me for years, thank you so much.

My dog screams going down a perfect 4th

The dot on the keyboard 👍
So cool with the reverse bell!!!
Does it mean when I built quartal chords on the D-Dorian scale, it will only be on the white notes ?
For some reason i thought relatives werent in the scale and were something you had to actually break rules to do, guess ive been using them this entire time lol
I really like it❤😊😊
Piazzola Tango Etude #1 )clarinet/sax) uses ascending jumps of diminished 12ths - in some cases from the chalumeau to the altissimo.
Thankyou Dave! for this amazing walk thru!!!!😍
Wow thankyou, it is a great tutorial!!!
Not super-important, but in such descriptions of Form, I often find it useful to use Greek letter names for the sections or melodies. That, to prevent confusion with keys. “Now we enter the A section in C”: Do you mean the A-Major passage within the C part of the form, or the A part of the Form in the key of C-Major…?! 😂
was the slow sound fade out at the end of the video produced by sonic pi? if yes what command makes a slow fade out?
Move it along please
Is the following not possible? use_random_seed rrand_i(0,300) if it is not possible is there a work around? like using a loop within a loop and some how getting a random number generated for the seed value?
