Keep your head up boys! Common refrain on most hockey benches . Hockey is not for the weak. Having played many years at a competitive level, I have realized it is the closest thing we have in the world to actual gladiatorial competition. Lol. Now, even 25/30 years later, I still feel some of those hits I took LOL. However, I do wear my scars with pride. Greatest sport in the world

They practice both giving and taking those sorts of hits, and they are wearing padding. They're also typically in very good physical condition. But every one of those hits takes a toll on the body and brain.

Agreed. They try to hide how they call plays with team specific words/numbers. I'd never heard ones so cool though.

Jacob Trouba is probably the most prolific current NHL hitter, as agreed by many of the media people, due to the stats, I believe. 6:35 I will forever beg you to react to the top 10 NHL fights of Bob Probert. He is sadly deceased now, but he is the all time toughest NHL fighter. In fact he is from where I am from-Windsor, ON. He is older than me, and one day he beat the shit out of my older step brother on the front lawn of a house party. I hated my step brother. He was 7 years older than me and was never kind to me, but bullied me. A few years later I got the chance to personally thank Bob when I met him staying in a local rehabilitation centre, lol. He was the nicest guy ever. But he was the baddest man on the planet for several years.

That's what makes this game so violent. It's also why this game has so many athletes go injured virtually 100% of the time sometime in their careers. Careers are quite often cut short because of injuries due to the physics of hits like these. This is also why there's studies done on brain mashing inside the heads of these players. CTE, for the acronym or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy

The Orange was Tennessee! I really do hope that when you do visit America, it's during the fall/winter so you can enjoy a game. If you'll let people know where you're going to be and what you would like to see, I'm pretty sure somebody would be tickled to show you around and college football buffs always know a friend with an extra ticket!!!! At 8:15, is the group, Alabama, singing Dixieland Delight. They yell, "Roll Tide" a lot! LSU at 9:27 is a song by Garth Brooks, Calling Baton Rouge (which is a city in Louisiana) for LSU (Louisiana State University!) At 10:38, they're supposed to be doing a chopping (as with an ax) while doing an "Indian war cry" or something close to that! It probably looks strange to you but it's everyday stuff here! LOL We love to have fun and football games give us a little time to escape our troubles and have fun .... we all deserve some of that! Only about 5 more weeks or so before the season begins! I can't wait! I'm 71 and have been watching since I was 13!

Yes, there are major injuries and deaths in this sport. The most recent death was a rider who got thrown off and the bull literally stomped a hole in his chest.

Notice how they all have a hand in the air? You are immediately disqualified during any ride in which your free hand touches the bull or yourself.

The "Hockey player" in me kicked in on Saturday.. Yanking on a nail with a hammer above my head and the nail head broke.. Butt end of the hammer in the pie hole! Seriously lossened one of my front teeth.. wiggle wiggle with my tongue.. "Summbitch that hurt... Babe (wife) grab me my needlenose pliers would ya please?" Ya I did it.. chewing apples through a picket fence now 😆 My wife near passed out 😂 Got a partial plate already from my playing days upper right from a two handed slash to the face and all my molars on the bottom left from blocking a slap shot with my jaw. What's one more gone right? 😆 🤣 😂

Even as a die hard bleed crimson Alabama fan, there are just some teams pre-games you can't help but love and get hype to. Even when we are playing FSU i can't help but still enjoy their chants. As much as i hate anything wearing that Puke prison orange, they know how to get rowdy too.
