    Great overview. It is also worth mentioning: You can connect the Gold Digger to the cherry picker. That allows you to not only easily audition 4 different microphones, but also 4 different preamps at the same time.

    Love the room eq. Only issue I’ve run into is to properly pair the outputs you have to have stereo out or it acts a bit odd. So mono sub setup is a bit of a pain/does not act appropriately when cueing

    RME did not listen when it came to thunderbolt. Only lies about USB being as good

  • @RedStoneProductions
    @RedStoneProductionsАй бұрын

    I honestly think they are right sticking with the USB2 connection as it is fast enough and it has been around for many years. We are now on Thunderbolt 4? That keeps changing and it's not convenient for professional studio owners. RME is also one of the very few companies writing the USB driver theme-selves in the house, making these RME interfaces to be among the most stable drivers out there. If you like our videos please consider subscribing to the channel, it would mean a lot for us.

    Here is the problem with many people who bought the xdesk such I myself, you are explaining very good what you can do with all of those options, however what needs to be explained is how to actually connect everything up with or with out patch bays to achieve all of this functionality. Many who bought the unit have zero experience on a Big SSL board so actually wiring up this thing is confusing as hell. I am slowly grasping info bit by bit. The Big six is a nice unit but not as flexible as the xdesk.. I wish SSL had made an 12 or 16 fader Xdesk.

    Thanks for your comment. If we get more requests on the SSL X-Desk and patchbay signal flow, I will go deeper into it. In the meantime please consider subscribing to our channel.

    I like elysia but I disagree on transient designers. I think many plugins sound better than the analog variants. It also makes sense because they can actually look ahead and catch it properly

    Top end a bit harsh on the stam for some reason, although the WA is a bit boxy i like the fact it stays flat on the high ends, easier to control in the mix, Urei just does the job fine, not as over the top in the pumping but pretty damn clean.

    IGS did not sound to great. On the full mix the Klark perceived good cause the highs are more prominent almost like digital plugin Eq's but needs more bass and fullness in the lower range to balance the overall sound out. The Klark's could be a good exciter tool.

    I had a minor problem with a Stam product recently. I contacted Stam expecting to work with some tech support/ customer service person but no! Josh contacted me personally and, like he said in the interview, I sent the compressor to a local rep in the USA - problem solved! I was most impressed!

    on bass I felt the WA pretty much matched the UA 1176... the Stam had it's own mid-forward sound. They all sound excellent.

  • @user-bo8ex4ji7n
    @user-bo8ex4ji7n5 ай бұрын

    I should note that it's clear the stam is a clone of the silver blueface which has a more mid-forward sound anyway so they probably did an excellent job cloning it. I cannot believe how close the WA and the UA sound - even on vocals! wow great job warm audio.

    Klark on the mix bus is defenitely too harsh on the high ends, stuff that the igs keeps in check, and struggles to control the low ends + i can hear some phase issues coming from the 2 units.
