Por cierto tambien me pedia la actualizacion y aun asi pidiendomela la bicicleta funciona a la perfección.

    I like your video Dave, which brings back memories- My daughter was also at Liverpool Uni and I miss our days out there since she finished..it’s a great place! ..however me and my cycling pals have a ride planned that way later on this year..probably a circuit of the Wirral - lots of traffic-free rail trails etc running alongside the Dee and Mersey estuaries. I bought a used 6 speed Brompton 2 years ago and love it. I’ve used it loads and done a few tours - just got back from 400 miles around Brittany, with a hassle-free train journey to Plymouth and back! I have fitted a 39t chainring so hills aren’t a problem - don’t know why Brompton don’t offer this as an option! Have you seen Susanna Thornton Brompton Tourer on KZread? Amazing lady.

    Thanks mate , it sounds like you’re enjoying your Brompton to the full. Brittany sounds amazing , I would love a trip there. I have ordered a 39T chainring as I thought it was too highly geared. So hoping this will improve the gearing. And yes I follow Susanna Thornton who does some great videos 👍 atb Dave

    Nice short video of your 1st outing on your Brompton. I have recently bought a Brompton electric following retirement and fancy exploring the canal by going a bit further along. I've managed the trail from the pier head to the end of otterspool promenade and would like to continue on to Speke / Hale and possibly Widnes by picking up the TPT. I think that there is a short section where you need to ride along the main road, but Google maps shows a lot of cycle lane for the most part. Happy cycling.

  • @davesolobiker5601
    @davesolobiker56013 күн бұрын

    Great stuff , you could cycle so far up the canal and train back to where you live. Train travel much easier with a Brompton 🚲👍

    @davesolobiker5601 Hi there, following our earlier thread, I've just watched your Leeds/Liverpool (day 1) footage and would ask if you think the terrain is suitable for the Brompton? It looked a bit dodgy in places to me but as a new owner I'm not sure of their true capabilities. Either way, another great video of our historic canal trails.

  • @davesolobiker5601
    @davesolobiker56013 күн бұрын

    @@allanb2906 yes it would be possible ,if the paths have firmed up since I did it, but saying that it, would be very rough in places as the Brompton feels all the bumps. Especially parts where tree roots are exposed.

    Not seen a Brompton in these colour scheme blue and black before. Smart. I have a red and black M6L for 18 years now. It's been absolutely brilliant and still going strong. Now with a 39T front chain ring, meaning hills are a lot easier to climb and it spins out on the flat at about 22/23 mph. It now has SP dymamo hub in the front wheel with Supernova E3 Pro 2 front and rear lights so never have to worry about lighting ever again. They are bright. Also fitted SPDs to mine, Short Titec bar ends, Better Jack Kuosac Easy wheels so it rolls a lot better when folded also an Easy wheel extender so a lot more stable when folded. Rear rack is a tubular after market Ace rack lighter than the std Brompton one but still strong. I've toured all over on mine. UK, Wales, Scotland, France, Spain, Gran Canaria as well as commuted 40 miles a day on mine for two years. Loaded up they are surprisingly capable bikes for carrying heavy loads shopping and touring. Mine's a keeper will never part with it. It has been through 2 bottom pivot hinges though. Just about to fit the 3rd as these are a weak point of the Brompton, but given I have ridden up and down a lot of steep mountain roads on mine loaded up eg Gran Canaria, I can cut it some slack. Enjoy yours. Hope to see more of it on your channel. Check out Brompton Traveler's YT channel. www.youtube.com/@BromptonTraveler/videos ATB.

    Thanks for all of the info, I am currently looking at replacing the 50T chainring as this is too high in my opinion and a 39T will be better for the hills . Glad to hear yours has been serving you well especially with all the extra mods to make life easier . Do you have a link for your rear rack as the Brompton one is do heavy ! I do plan on doing some Bikepacking trips on it in the near future . Tfw atb Dave PS I am a sub already to that channel 🚲👍

    Good to see you out on the Brommie Dave, it looks great. Looking forward to seeing you take it out for a camp. They're great bikes, I've enjoyed 2yrs of hassle free riding on mine, just taking care of tyres and odd bit of maintenance. The only thing I didnt like was the original saddle, might as well have sat on a razor blade! I swapped it out for a Brooks and it was a game.changer. Agree with you about the gears, they did take a bit of getting used to but its a really simple setup. I do find the gearing a little high though, particularly when on the hills and am thinking of dropping down a few teeth on the front chainring. Enjoy 👍

    Thanks mate , it’s a great little bike to ride very agile indeed . I agree on the gears I might change the front ring to a 39 teeth as I never got into those high end gears. Nice video. If you're looking for a longer ride, you can hop the ferry over to Seacombe or use Merseyrail to get to Birkenhead Hamilton Square and then cycle up on to the promenade. There's about 10 miles of road-free riding you can do which will bring you over to the other side of Wirral with views of the River Dee and Wales. If you push on into West Kirkby you can get on the Wirral Way and cycle down the other side of Wirral. That's all cycle path and you can another 15 miles down the other side. You then hop on the train at Hooton and get back to Liverpool.
