Great video content! Will definitely be watching the next vid. How much clearance shoukd there be beteen the panel frame and the window frame so they can open and close freely without leaving too much of a gap
seeing this 9 years later. you're awesome my man. Youre a problem solver and an inspiration.
Brilliant!! This is exactly the tips and tricks and instructions I was hoping to find!!! Love this! Thank you for your help!!
❤
Perfect! Thank you for sharing this great idea! I'm going to work on building one!
This is a great series of videos and a great design for those with small shops. Thanks for sharing!
Do you sell this made ? I need for craft
I didn't watch the contest but you should win 2 awards, one for the pen and one for the lathe. Super well done! 👍
👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Nice bowl and welcome back.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome
cool 😎 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿❤️❤️
👊
Wow Que milargo
Hola, muchas gracias
What about when you move your fence to 10" and you'll be at 9 1/4 😅 if that wood is 3/4
do what I did and move the measuring strip over the thickness of the board. simple fix
@moyperezwoodshop1722 alright cool ima do that 😎 👌
The box turned out really beautiful. A great job. In one point, you could make it easier for yourself. If you only saw out the outer shape at the very end, after the back wall has already been glued on. This way you have straight surfaces on the outside when gluing and forcing the saw cuts together where the clamps can be applied better and gluing on the back wall is also easier because it doesn't matter if it shifts by 1 or 2mm.
That's awsome! New sub here.
Thanks man👊
A recent high quality and longterm studies, publicated in the "Journal of wood science" by Robert Q. Thompson, revealed most of the false notions in a WIKIhow article on ebonizing woods (representative of the content of woodworker' sites on the internet though 🙈). The perfect and most efficiant recipe for the best outcome of the iron acid ebonizing wood stain is the following (the ratio of the 0000 steel wool and 5% DW white vinegar is very important and the lid width of the open jar has an impact as well !): Add exact 85 ml WHITE Vinegar 5% solution to 1g of fine steel wool (0000) into a jar and stir with a plastic/wood kind of tool (NO metallics - reactions can be manipulated!). Leave jar open (your solution with the cut latex glove to secure the liquid from any dirt is accepted though 😅) and stir again every 24 hours. After day 3 (THREE DAYS 😮) the iron acid reaction has come to it's finalization! After this time the further reactions show every other colour but the best effect you could have reached with the stain after 3 days, will lead to a downwards spiral. I've just prepared the a.m. recipe and can't await the final result. Let's hope for the best! 😂🎉
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzread.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Or you can just buy a lathe.
where is the fun in that
@@moyperezwoodshop1722 In the woodturning.
Do you think sonething like this can turn 4 x 4 x 8' long square post to round shape?
great build !
nice one
Great simple construction. I know this is an older video but I'm thinking of making one of these. I just had to restore a staircase worth of antique spindles by hand, mostly just sanding. Something like this would have saved me enough time, I think, to build one of these machines. Hind sight is 20/20 😣
What is the finishing liquid for? Great tutoria, exactly what I wanted to make, but I had no idea how to.. will screwing and unscrewing damage the wood?
❤ Beautiful work! - Is your website still up? I'm unable to access at this time
Do you have a project sheet with dimensions and instructions?
Very helpful. Thank you!
How do I get the plans
I'm just putting the finishing touches on a homemade lathe. I just took stuff I already had and so far it is looking promising.
Why u stop posting content?
I tried this and the steel wool did not rust up and has been in the distilled vinegar for over 3 weeks-is there different types of steel wool material or is something else going on here?
Fantastic video thankyou!
My brother gave me a royobi T S he told me my brotherinlaw used it. The fence is off square so thats where I am.
well bummer but cool as hell
try this with acetone instead of vinegar. acetone is made by distilling vinegar and calcium carbonate.
This is not all iron(lll)acetate but just a small part, when reacting vinegar with iron you would think to get iron(lll)acetate but not because iron nails will contain 2+ ions and iron acetate needs 3+ ions to form so we have to add hydrogen peroxide to them
I like what you did with the box by not putting the back on just to cut it off. Cut all the drawers then put the back on, Smart. Thank you the pattern.
Beautiful box
I made one of these a couple of years ago - the "Disapearing Lathe". The headstock, tailstock and toolrest are three separate parts that clamp onto the edge of a B&D Workmate. It turns about a 5" diameter piece. For the tailstock, I made a live centre using the front wheel hub from a bicycle, because of the adjustable thrust ball bearing.
I converted my Harbor Freight scroll saw to a paint shaker.
Looks fantastic
Hi, What a brilliant device, just made it out of scrap wood, works a treat, many thanks
Any way you could list materials? Need to build for a shower
*_Great saw _**_MyBest.Tools_**_ for routine trim and crosscut applicatios. Light and easy to use. Powerful for a battery powered saw._*
Nice job on the project music by the Wallflowers I believe
Looks great!
Stupid hearing aid ran out of batteries again
