Thanks for this, was cool to hear about it from someone else who grew up with the NES. When I saw this movie in the theaters, it was just OK to me at the time. Favorite part was probably seeing SMB3 in motion, not sure if I had even seen screenshots at that point. But I love watching this movie as an adult, really makes me nostalgic for the late 80's. Hope I can take a road trip and see some of the filming locations someday. "I Found My Way" is indeed a great listen, I believe Sally Dworsky isn't even sure about the rights or location of the master recording, but feel free to take that info with a grain of salt.

Dream Glow Barbie is one I wanted as a kid. My friend had her and the Ken. I watched, My Two Dads. The complete series is on my wish list. I remember the Trix commercials. I remember sitting on my grandmas flower couch using the piano bench as a table where my sister and I would sit in our night gowns, robes and slippers, eat Trix cereal, toast, Orange Juice and milk while watching Saturday morning cartoons in their living room. Do children even wear robes these days? My kids didn't and my grandkids don't. We all have one but they never get worn. My mom has pictures of that. Whenever I go visit them, I look at all the pictures. Yes, I'd enjoy seeing a part 2, 3 or however many it takes to get to the end of the tape. Listening to your memories as we go is fun. My BFF and I used an old horse barn as our club house. We used to cook up some fabulous mud pies, termite poop cookies, nature salad and a protein surprise drink. A couple weeks ago my BFF came for a weekend visit. That's when I learned our cookies were made out of termite poop. Yum. A feast fit for, no one actually, but it sure was fun. When I saw the Mr. Potato Head ad, I thought of a game we had called, Cootie. We had so much fun with that game. Simon was a game my sister had and I think she still has it.

Oscar is boxed up right now, so I can't check it out real quick but I have the Big Bird out. On the bottom it says, 1982 Muppets Inc. Playskool Inc. Made in China. The comic book collection is amazing! I saw Kate and Allie. I just got the complete series not that long ago. I don't remember seeing that show back then but a neighbor friend pops in and out of my life. She surprised me with a visit and said she always wanted us to grow up and be like them. After I watched an episode, I cried. She's 4 years younger than me but we were so close, I thought of her more like a sister than a friend. I bought the Home Improvement series that comes in the red cardboard tool box too. Not weird at all, I enjoy word finds. Love the Beach Boys! Can't wait to see the catalogs. The brass duck book ends are exactly the same ones my parents still have that I cleaned once a week as a kid. The brass lamp is also the same but with a different lamp shade. They still have that too. That explains our 80's house well. Brass, glass and wood. So much stuff to polish and clean. It's a fun hobby and you've created an awesome room showcasing so many of the highlights from that period in time. You'll probably get a laugh out of my space. It is many things. An office, hobby, craft, pantry and sometimes guest room and can't forget, it's my bedroom. Best part of the day is when I can sit down and watch KZread videos, in the "office" section. Lol. I watched ALF growing up. My dad got me a stuffed Alf not long after they went on sale in stores and I still have it. I just bought the complete series not long ago. I'm a fan. The boom box is very much like the one I had as a kid. Garfield. At one time I had all the original cartoon strip type Garfield books. I regret getting rid of them. I also had posters, stuffed animals, stickers and whatever else I could find. I have a Pooky but no Garfield. He-Man was my favorite out of those two. Jolly Ranchers, the candy that cements itself to your teeth. Loved the watermelon flavor. Odd since I don't like real watermelon. I guess, you add enough sugar and poof, it magically tastes better. It's very hot in these parts. Thank goodness for the heating and cooling system I added to the house. I would have loved the Barbie magazine. Actually, I'd still like the Barbie magazine.

I enjoy watching organizing videos. I get some really good ideas that way. Love the Smurf cup! The Last Unicorn! I didn't even think anyone else had that movie. I'd be standing there a while trying to decide which one to watch. It would be more like a three movie night. To be able to walk up and see all the movies neatly and in alphabetical order would be amazing! I long for that kind of organization! Limited space and small hands prevent me from doing that. So, I enjoy watching other people make it happen.

I hope you and your family had a good 4th. Ours was in two parts. Two BBQ's in two days so everyone could partake. Friends and family, missed some family and a surprise visitor. There's always a surprise in every holiday around here. It was fun. I would have loved He-Man, Transformers and GI Joe figures. I agree, how something smells is powerful in its ability to take your mind back in time. Thank you for sharing your childhood favorites.

The tan M&Ms were my favorite. I used to save them for last and I swore at the time that they tasted different than the other ones lol. I was probably the only kid on earth who was bummed when they replaced tan with blue. I liked the Thundercats cartoon much more than MOTU but the MOTU toys are so nostalgic for me and still my all time favorite action figures :)
