criterioncollection

Classic and contemporary films on Blu-ray, DVD, and online.

Since 1984, the Criterion Collection, a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, has been dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements. Over the years, as we moved from laserdisc to DVD, Blu-ray disc, and online streaming, we've seen a lot of things change, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to publishing the defining moments of cinema for a wider and wider audience.

Jane is one of the most original filmmakers out there! I saw the TV Glow broke me, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. Solid choices “I watch Bella Tarr films when I have the flu”-this is the way

This superb compilation shows just how Bresson is so universally adored and influenced by other directors. Purity, simplicity, humanity, poetry.

Kevin Kline looks like a dick at the end of the scene. Plenty of parking room for people to decide and he feels the need to direct them.

"Kicking and Screaming" 100%. The reason it is so good is all the dialogue is essentially one liners. So funny.

I think this video shows you the side of filmmaking that's very very articulate and yet lack of a better expression sanitized. I'm pretty sure if you are a film student or behind the scenes writer, it'll be more like a classroom than a casual outing. I won't go as far to say it's boring, but it's not the usual fandom experience.

These were my peers, where are they now? In their 70s or 80s. For you folks who are this age now keep in mind we never thought we'd be around, this late in life. Was impossible. We found out that you are lucky if you made it this far and are still upright. This movie is sort of a place marker for our 'grown-up' period, when we were the main players on the field, and we called the shots.

'Killing of a Chinese Bookie' is my favorite film of all time. The idea was suggested to Cassavetes by Martin Scorsese. It was Scorsese's brilliant idea, and John just ran with it. Brilliant film! So glad to be in the company of Friedkin as one who recognizes this underrated gems cinematic appeal.

I Saw The TV Glow is definitely an interesting piece of work. The first half is a LOT better than the second. This person has talent, no question they just need to reel it in a little which, im sure, will come with age and experience.

What does this say about our current culture when daniel's "original" ideas are only pastiches, cliches from the past? Why not make something new, and original? Tumblr mood board anime steven universe hbo euphoria bisexual lighting with fragmented childhood memories of being groomed through the television? Not really on par with John Waters, or John cameron mitchell but whateverz.
