Classic and contemporary films on Blu-ray, DVD, and online.
Since 1984, the Criterion Collection, a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, has been dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements. Over the years, as we moved from laserdisc to DVD, Blu-ray disc, and online streaming, we've seen a lot of things change, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to publishing the defining moments of cinema for a wider and wider audience.

Très belle fresque en clair obscur de la société indienne moderne.
Your a guy dressing up like a girl.
Jane is one of the most original filmmakers out there! I saw the TV Glow broke me, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. Solid choices “I watch Bella Tarr films when I have the flu”-this is the way
This superb compilation shows just how Bresson is so universally adored and influenced by other directors. Purity, simplicity, humanity, poetry.
everything is wide lense
NURİ BİLGE CEYLAN ülkemizin gururu
Great double feature with The Face of Another, although I’d say I prefer Seconds to that
I have no interest in watching her film but … she’s cool as hell, and I love her shoutout to physical media and collecting 🙌🏼
I want to be in this room. With these people. I feel they would be VERY interested in what the other person in the room thought and be highly engaged
Beauty and beyond how much was meant in a life time.
You are amazing.
this is my soul
Wow, Husbands. Such an amazing film!
I still can't believe this isn't satire
Kevin Kline looks like a dick at the end of the scene. Plenty of parking room for people to decide and he feels the need to direct them.
Ethan Hawke is a national FUCKING treasure. Cheers.
I hope for a woman to look at me like Ariane looks at Yorgos.
"Kicking and Screaming" 100%. The reason it is so good is all the dialogue is essentially one liners. So funny.
I love araki, can’t wait for the boxset!
when music didn't need to be polished like glass holding ice. raw, emotional and pure blues = janis.
id track song of the beginning?
More than a movie.
I just realised something....it's not the voice...it's the emotion, it's not calculating, it's giving oneself completely...
I think this video shows you the side of filmmaking that's very very articulate and yet lack of a better expression sanitized. I'm pretty sure if you are a film student or behind the scenes writer, it'll be more like a classroom than a casual outing. I won't go as far to say it's boring, but it's not the usual fandom experience.
These first few minutes really explain why Holly's father was so attached to her and didn't want her to be with Kit.
Just saw that three of his films are being added to Criterion in late September! Love his choices a lot and I’m excited to binge his works before they get a physical release ^^
Im gay, and Janis can turn me straight with her voice
Queen Janis... You know are good when mama Cass cant keep her mouth closed
These were my peers, where are they now? In their 70s or 80s. For you folks who are this age now keep in mind we never thought we'd be around, this late in life. Was impossible. We found out that you are lucky if you made it this far and are still upright. This movie is sort of a place marker for our 'grown-up' period, when we were the main players on the field, and we called the shots.
minha bonequinha janis joplin 5 estrelas eu te amo muito
Art is so fun
She is so cool.
They should choose me to enter the Criterion Closet. @criterion think about it!
they had a father-daughter joint session prior to this.

Janis ❤️❤️❤️ gets me
I feel this in my soul
Film forum chairs are trash. But great theater.
'Killing of a Chinese Bookie' is my favorite film of all time. The idea was suggested to Cassavetes by Martin Scorsese. It was Scorsese's brilliant idea, and John just ran with it. Brilliant film! So glad to be in the company of Friedkin as one who recognizes this underrated gems cinematic appeal.
Ethan turned me on to "Heart Worn Highways", perhaps the best Americana music film ever.
one of the only intelligent hilarious north americacans ever. he should have been an editorial cartoonist for psychiatry today.... him & gahan wilson.
Can someone tell me is this a joke or documentary?
0:13 anyone know the song?
I Saw The TV Glow is definitely an interesting piece of work. The first half is a LOT better than the second. This person has talent, no question they just need to reel it in a little which, im sure, will come with age and experience.
😍
This guy is so funny in every role: Metropolitan, Last Days of Disco, Barcelona, etc.
What does this say about our current culture when daniel's "original" ideas are only pastiches, cliches from the past? Why not make something new, and original? Tumblr mood board anime steven universe hbo euphoria bisexual lighting with fragmented childhood memories of being groomed through the television? Not really on par with John Waters, or John cameron mitchell but whateverz.
Even Shakespeare’s plays are mostly adaptations and reinterpretations of pre-existing stories…
