Hello, I'm Spencer. A typical railfan from good ole NW Ohio.
Camera:
as of 8-27-16: Panasonic LUMIX G7
as of 4/12/14 I use a Canon Vixia HF R300 for video. any videos taken before that date are a combination of my 4th gen. Ipod and a cheep vivtar POS.
Railfanning:
On this channel you can find railfanning from various places in NW Ohio mostly of the Norfolk Southern. The CSX is the other railroad in the region but isn't focused on in this channel, however CSX can be found, it just isn't as common as the NS.
Thanks for taking a look at NW Ohio Trains and please subscribe if you are interested!!

that locomotives are lookin cool because it looks similar than a KCS grey ghost sd70ace
That was me once... and now I work for a railroad!
GP9s that were rebuilt for the Chicago Central in Paducah, KY were called GP10s
I’m guessing GP7 or 9 (first road switcher) SD40-2 (best locomotive imo) and probably a GEVO of some kind Edit: yup
Bring back Mars lights!!
1830s - Steam Locomotives 1930s - Diesel Locomotives 2030s - Battery Locomotives
Ima guess f7, sd40, ac4400cw
Man, 13 years I lived beside tracks NS owned, never had this chance! Closest I got was one of the engineers talking to me when he had to stop due to debris someone put on the rail. Miss that engineer though, he always honked as he went by after that.
For crew security? You literally doxxed yourself in the first few seconds of the video!
Why unstoppable music 🤨
NICE CATCH....FOAMERS AND RAILFANS WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??? JUST ASKING NEVER PAID ATTENTION BUT I DO HATE IT WHEM PEOPLE RUIN MY SHOT.
It looks like fresh from the factory and quickly send to work
i just want to you know this is amazing you guys are doing the right thing telling people how dangerous is to be around railroad property
Nice 2nd Gen K5HL!
I have bnsf railroad spikes
I’ve done that many times when I worked at CSX Transportation in Miami, Florida. I’ve started a handful of different locomotives. The ones that where interesting to me where the EMD SD70M-2s that they leased from Progress Rail that where former FEC engines. The crews down in Miami couldn’t locate the “Knife Switch” and since I was the subject matter expert, they asked me for help. I found it for them in the auxiliary cab outside of the engine behind the engineers door. You have to open the door and go inside. In there is the knife switch and all the breakers but a few.
Geep 9 and Geep 38.
Among the first specifications you said was that GP9 had 645 engines. Wrong….567 engines.
the sd-70-mac's u missed one. we moved more coal with the sd-60's, sd-70's and the MAC's with the 710 than during the 90's, 2000's, than ANYTHING else.
LOVE this unit ! WELL DONE DUDE !!
Thought the dash 9 would be on the list , sick of seeing gevos
OHIO,💀
Awesome new FEC units, they are ES44C4s
SD40's, no doubt .. the reliability, look, sound .. and still a work horse today.
GP-9 Dash 8 SD40-2 But it's a crime not to mention the old Alco RS1/3s.
very neat
The original road switcher was the Alco RS-1 built in in 1942, followed by the RS-2 and Rs-3 and all 2000 were built before 1954.
Great catch!!
2:01 2 things. 1 ALCo. made the first road switcher the RS-1 and 2 the gp9 had a 567C not a 645.
The narrator said the GP9 was equipped with a 645 engine. It was actually a 567C.
My guesses: The EMD FT, then, the EMD SD40, then the GE EVO's.
What do you mean by rent a wreck?
WOW 👍 hypnosis in motion pattern in form of the #8,as in 888...great memories, railfan since 1949👋
To me this shows how irresponsible they truly are!
The NS loco looks better than before
I drive those bad boys
15:51 UP and CSX.
14:22 Actually the FEC Owns a lot of C4s
ngl the SD70 and -9/44 series engines are basically equal atp lol
How people can be so enthralled with trains amazes me.
On the SP Siskiyou Branch and Over Donner Pass. We had SD 9's the 6 axle engines then the SD 40's , For Donner pass the SD 45T-2 the tunnel motors. There are still a lot of SD9's working out west. The tunnel motors with the lower air inlet to the radiators to help them stay cool in the tunnels and snow sheds on Donner. My favorites are the SD 9's, SD 40-2's and SD tunnel motors. The GE D9's and SD 75I.
Awesome video. Love the music.
Elevate the nickel plate.
I love the dinner train. Go blissfield
GP-9s used a 567C engine, not a 645 unless upgraded.
My favorite selection of trains is unusual. By far my favorite engine is the FM H-24-66. Trainmasters we’re notoriously unreliable and terrible to maintain. But being one of the highest hp engines of its time not built by the big 3 locomotive manufacturers, and had looks to kill for. It was a beautiful engine. It wasn’t an EL-2B or a GG1, but it was a diesel, and by far my favorite Diesel engine, no matter how terrible the engine genuinely was. If only any Wabash trainmasters were preserved.
Some of the most beautiful steam loco footage I’ve ever seen. Very, very well done! Thanks for your efforts.
Southern railway serves the south look head look south
I used to ride the Southern Pacific commuter from Palo Alto to San Francisco, and remember in the 70's up to the mid 80s being dragged behing a grimy GP-9, in a train of one 1920's passenger car, and three 1950s double deckers. It was a pleasant, if fragrant way to travel.
