See her in person if you can. She is an awesome performer!
Anyone who enjoys this really should check out the video of her rehearsal...remarkable in both her vitality, professionalism, and the sheer joy she brings to the faces of her colleagues. Extraordinary! Thanks for posting this!
stunningly real , and terrific , and damn beautiful ass......ets!
What a stellar performance. Streisand is a phenomenon, but Hines is a phenomenal musical comedy actress.
He was limited by the size of the stage. Would have loved being able to see him go full out.
Who is the MC?
That's Van Johnson. He was a silver-screen movie star, a song-and-dance man who got to do musicals, comedy, and drama in equal measures.
Ooh, this is cool !❤
We know... right?! So cool!
Leslie Townes British -born ...better known as Bob Hope, comedian, actor, entertainer a career that spanned 80 years...
And to know that I have had the pleasure of hearing Steve and Eydie ....
EVITA > Helen Reddy ❤️ Bravo !

Circa?
Steve & Eydie: From This Moment On... Cole Porter (1977)
Just a beautiful film and story.
Lisa Kirk would have approved.
The sly glance at the audience and the falling hat bit are the mark of a true entertainer.
Absolutely wonderful ❤️ I remember watching this when it first came out and whenever it came on after. One of my all time favorites. Geraldine Page is incredible
Bernadette Peters is the Cream of the Crop and has been for years. Picking Treat to sing with her shows how great he was.
Who was singing this particular cover of the song? (get me to the church on time).
That's the FAB Marylin Maye 95 and still going strong too
From a bygone era. Such great composers for music and the singers that do justice to the songs. Never again to hear such beautiful music.
My goodness! I’ve had the CD of this performance since it was first released, but I don’t remember seeing the video. How special this Saturday afternoon has become.
Ohhh good... so happy to enhance a Saturday!
Jerry Herman - what a guy. Rita Moreno still has it....
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉
I wrote a book a few years back and Cole Porter is in the Book, Painters, 1920’s fun stuff. I love singing Cole Porter songs as well. The background singers sung for an adult movie called The Education of Misty Beethoven 😅
I love this special.
A rare talent theses days, a lady, elegantly descending a flight of stairs.
Do you happen to have any other videos of Steve and Eydie on those CP telethons?
Sadly no. THese are old video transfers from our archive and we never took much interest in the telethon broadcasts.
@@patnstephen2 Ok thanks for responding.
what a hunk!
Indeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! ;)
Simplemente espectacular Rita Moreno a sus 63 años bailando Tap
Eydie by herself is a force . Add Steve Lawrence and it is MAGIC.
Having corresponded with Steve he like us truly recognised the magic & greatness of his wife’s voice. When Eydie opened up your troubles took a back seat transporting you to a world of sheer pure entertainment.

An ICON

I have had Donna's performance in my head since I, as an adolescent, saw her at the Shubert. I could never imagine anyone else doing the role. I have to say, Tony nailed it. Beautifully.
My very favorite Christmas movie.. I feel like I've made two new friends.
My Christmas is complete. Thank you for posting this gem. It's been a long time.
Always makes me think of my mom who said it was the most accurate description of the world during her childhood. Thank you so very much for posting. It’s the one film that for me truly captures the Christmas spirit.
"Nothing has made me this happy since the death of Helen Reddy's career" - Joan Rivers, 2013.
Oh, Joan, she could be a comedy bitch, but we loved her. LOL
He's not Donna, but, damn he's good!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geraldine Page was one of my favorite actresses..
Ours too - she was tracendant
I loved it as i also Love Tony Yazzbeck's performance but as much as i Loved the recreation of the original choreography , i wish it would have been re- Choreographed to play on Tony's Dance Strengths then it would have been Phenomenal..
They usually don't rechoreograph numbers for this event, but honestly even if they had offered I bet Tony would have preferred the original. He's a Dancer Dancer, and A Chorus Line is probably the MOST iconic dance musical in history. I'm sure he loved doing this number.
I haven't seen this touching little film in many years, and all the family members I watched this with - when it was first on TV - are now gone. A bittersweet memory, and the end is just as moving now as it was the first time I saw it. And in many ways ? Even more so.
Now that I watch this again after all these years I think the Patty Duke version was better
Thank you for uploading this!
You're most welcome
