@@TheAgingGamer oh yeah, multiple playthroughs! The levels can be played in any order like a Mega Man game; but the order determines their length and difficulty. So you get new parts and bosses in each stage depending on what order you play them in. It’s even better now that they’ve finally added online co-op!

They look like regular enemies, but the Double Dragon theme song plays during the fight. It’s pretty dope! My friend and i played it online through the Switch Online service and that’s when i learned about it.
Still my favorite game of the series...no "two-player" needed for me.
Haha, the two player in this game doesn’t even make sense! Why would they go the “take turns” two-played route?? 😂
My buddy and I used to act out double dragons in kindergarten and we got time out for beating up each other 😂

On Apocalypse's level you can skip all the lava by climbing up that gap where the x card is with Wolverine
I’ve still got my full sets of cards and toys out of box I played the shit out of those things just recently re baught a genesis to play this game I had it 20+years ago and sold all my Nintendo and sega stuff for a crappy n64 and got really pissed when I didn’t get enough money to buy n64 outright so I finally said screw it im buying another sega lol
I m an expert at this game and its one of my favorite nes games. I m sad you didnt beat tyson, but tbh on modern flat tvs its not possible due to the lag of sad tvs. I m sure you didnt beat him because of that - and to save everybodys time. Please remember, you need an old crt tv to beat tyson. And thats the only possible way. Sadly mtpo is one of those games that need original tv set up to be played properly.

The Jungle Book on Genesis deserves to be mentioned alongside this and Aladdin.

Awesome Memories of playing the identical version on Snes. This had several, several tough levels even for adults. Originally designed so you couldn't beat it so easily as a rental.
Im always Wolverine. Ive beaten the game with others but its always Wolverine. Kinda wished I had saved so many Genesis carts+instrucions. Who knew?
When my dad would visit, we’d always play this game…we got as far as the dragon level before it got crazy :) great memories!

I was just playing this last night! I broke out the Sega Genesis Collection on PS2 for a friend, cuz there was a lot of these games he had never played before. This ended up being his favorite one
Thats fantastic! I feel this game often gets overlooked on those collections because its not as flashy as say Sonic, Vectorman or Streets of Rage. I personally think its a fun quirky lil game. 😁

I am glad in this game they downgraded the difficulty quite a bit from Maximum Carnage. This is definitely the easier game.
I have beat this game but I will admit this is the hardest game I have ever played in my life. Even the Adventures of batman and Robin for genesis isn't as hard a game as this in my opinion.

Oh i’d love to review those game…if i still had them. I played the hell out of both X-Men Legends games on my Gamecube back in the day but I unfortunately sold them when i was in a tight spot for some money. The prices aren’t too crazy on the used market scene though. I should definitely pick those back up 🤔
I had this game for xbox 360 and after getting over the dirty feeling of the clerk's gaze from gamestop...it was actually a fun wrestling game!

Best 16 bit X-men game
Had never played it before but I recently got the game after hearing about it from AVGN and gave it a go, I might have gotten a beating so far but I'm still playing it, it's a hard game alright but there are other games on SNES that are even tougher, like Battletoads or Ninja Gaiden or even Contra, just don't give up on Maximum Carnage, it's difficult, but not impossible... It's the type of game about Practice makes Perfect and Perseverance...
