I am just an average Joe who likes to push himself, explore my limits, travel, learn and explore. I was born in a remote area, lived and grew up in the far east of the Western Australian wheatbelt. I have always documented my life, travel and explorations from when I got my first camera at around 5 years old. I still have all my photos. I then added video. Living in a remote region, digital was a god send, no more waiting for developing, and I quickly moved into this arena, both stills and video.
My goal is to inspire others, show case the places I visit, and show what I use to do this.

Flinders island to Perth in one hit is a long haul
This is fascinating. It is incredible what you can find out in the middle of nowhere. I have been way out into the Goldfields and found things like an old Leyland tractor. Goodness knows what someone was doing with a tractor out there in the 70s/80s. Also a Mini van. How on earth they managed to get that thing out there on those tracks is beyond me - it is probably about the least suitable vehicle imaginable for the outback.
I can just imagine how scared they must have been shipwrecked back then.
Nice work. What bell are you using ? Looking for one that looks ok on a road bike but still has a decent ring ?
@@neilwelsford3578 on the Noah I use a small one that held on with O-Rings. It’s the only one I could find that fitted the Aero Cockpit. It was only around $10 AUD. I will get a Garmin 1050 when they land in shops and that has an electronic bell.
I saw where a guy did the same as you. On his, He unscrewed the plastic pull out knob and put very narrow fuel line on it to extend it further out so reaching it is easy. Reason for me coming across this thread. Bought a bike which stalls when turning right. Seller didn't know what was causing it. I noticed choke lever moved every time it stalled. It's either reroute my cable or do a remote choke. They are 9.00 Canadian with free shipping on aliexpress
Perth was so nice back then.
I went to New Norcia we got told we went aloud to metal detect we did find some cool stuff before we got told 😊
Nice video, ..."giant hill", a WA giant hill. Lol
Worked like a charm on my perforated leather summer gloves, and it was relatively costless. Great help, thank you 😊
Your video reminds me of growing up in Southern Cross. We owned the house at 71 Spica St from where I went to the old primary school at the corner of Antares and Canopus streets, starting about 1956. There were 7 kids in my year so each teacher had up to 3 grades to teach. I don't know what they taught there but when we later moved to Albany for grade 7, I was the dunce of the class. The Albany kids could play the recorder, knew about history, maths etc whereas, I seemed to know just about nothing. Anyway, I subsequently recovered and managed to get a degree in engineering from UWA so all's well that ends well.
wow thank you. you saved me bunch of money.
did the tree survive transplant? and did you get any footage of exposing/wrapping the root ball? well done 🤝
Also try = Lift the weight of the tailgate and it might open , as the sagging hinge door is now heavy on the lock, and missaligning. The spare wheel on a very large tailgate door is a common problem across several vehicles.
The big foundation of the problems, is possibly the worn-out plastic Bushes or sleeves on the Hinges Shaft, my friends one almost has no plastic remaining, was a similar thie on Fkrd doors in the 1980's n 90's models, the door handle would break regularly, although the cause "The Hinges Bushes worn out or totally gone"!!
Can i join you sir
Brother what’s the link to the transfer case breather?. I’ve been in search of a new one for months!.
I did this in 1978 as a 15yr old on a Malvern Star Dragster bike. And we rode back.took 6hrs there and 6hrs back. And this was on the main road dodging cars and trucks. A lot less traffic back then.
Would you have the contact details for the required access permits? Trying to organize a trip up to visit the cliffs and really struggling with contacts to ask for access.
Local here, grew up camping throughout these cliffs. You’ll have to contact Callum the lease owner of Murchison house station to trek through
I just watched another You Tube video 3 years later and am amazed at the amount of these places that have been completely been overgrown by not only nature, but by the human degradation of those wanting their few seconds of fame by graffiti over things built more than 30 years before they were even born. Just a very sad reminder of the fleeting effect we as humans have on the natural world and our small part is in it. It was a great place to visit, however, the reasons for it's demise once again shows the greed of politicians (WA Inc) and the way people put themselves above nature. I guess nature gets to have the last laugh.
I'd guess 77/78 ?
Great video mate. Very informative and helpful. Onya 👍
Iridium is far superior to Inmarsat and thurya
It would want to be for the price they ask. Until the day does Thuraya was better as you could actually use it just like a regular phone without having to pay 1000s dollars a month.
At 14:18, it looks like you marked the rim with the tire iron in the spot where you decided to not use a rim protector.
Can this be purchased anywhere ???
Not that I have ever seen.
Nice folding down table
Great video. You gave a good tour and info about your old school but never told us the name of it !! 🤨 I presume it was Mt Walker.
Ah. It was Mt Walker Primary.
Super neat job. Found the transfer case vent blocked on my GDJ150 so at least i know what to look for.
I’m a supertrapp guy similar weight loss and very cool sound plus adjustability
The bike paths look well developed in WA.
Being Aussie I’ve never been so it’s kinda wierd
Thuraya satellite phones can no longer be used in Australia to make or receive calls and messages, including Emergency Calls to 000. Thuraya has advised Pivotel that the Thuraya 3 (T3) satellite has suffered a sustained Force Majeure event that has caused an ongoing outage of both voice and packet data services which prevents Thuraya from providing services in Australia for the foreseeable future. Thuraya has subsequently terminated the Service Provider Agreement with Pivotel, with immediate effect, applying the Force Majeure provisions of that Agreement. As a result of the sustained Force Majeure event, and the Termination of the Service Provider Agreement, Pivotel is unable to continue to supply Thuraya services. All active Pivotel Thuraya services have been suspended and temporarily migrated to a $0 package prior to being deactivated at a future time. For billing purposes, the suspensions and migrations will be backdated to 15th April 2024, the day before the outage commenced. Your next bill will show a credit for any fees that were charged in advance for access to the service after April 15th. We are very disappointed by this situation, and we understand that you will be too. We know that our customers, rely on Pivotel’s satellite phone and data services for critical communications. While the cause of the satellite failure is completely outside of Pivotel’s control, and the termination of the Thuraya Service Provider Agreement is unavoidable, we are working hard to put together a selection of special offers to enable our Thuraya users to move to another satellite phone network and we will email you with the special offers available to you in the coming days. If you had an active Thuraya service, we will reserve the mobile number(s) associated with your Thuraya service(s) for up to 6 months, unless the service is disconnected earlier, so you will be able to move to another Pivotel satellite phone, and another satellite service, and use the same mobile number(s) that you used previously. You will also be able to call into the voicemail platform to access any voicemail messages that may be left for you. Under the offers, customers who purchased a Thuraya terminal that was imported and distributed by Pivotel may qualify for a full or partial refund, or a credit against a new handset, depending on the age of the terminal. Proof of Purchase will be required. Many customers may have purchased a terminal from a supplier that did not acquire the terminal from Pivotel. Upon receiving the details of the Pivotel offers we recommend you make contact with your supplier to determine if you may be eligible for a Pivotel refund or credit. This is a major unplanned event and is likely to impact on call answering times in the Pivotel Customer Care team. We will keep the Pivotel Thuraya FAQ page up to date and we request you check that page for current information. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging situation. We do value your business and our efforts to secure options for you to quickly migrate to an alternative satellite service is our highest priority.
Statement from Pivotel’s website, but I can not provide the link as KZread delete it.
Great series as is also the Goldfield ones. Adv riding to my mind is just quietly poking around.
Just got given one. 240 plug came with it luckily. $75 for the 12v cord. For the back of a smaller car it's a great piece of kit.
This brings me a lot of memories. I lived for a while in Perth as a student, so riding bike from and to uni was the option, so good times.
My 1979 model still keeps things cold. It came with a very strong spring mounted base and real canvas cover that has a padded cushion lid. I run it off a 100ah lithium battery via a 200W foldup solar panel & 20Amp MPPT controller.
That was an epic ride!
Good to see. Check out the machinery museum in Beverley next time, it has a great cycling history and commentry.
I did quickly check it out one other time I rode to Beverley.
Thanks for the tour. Love the wheatbelt vistas, wide open space. Great video.
What a great video. I enjoy your cycling content, keep them coming.
Good ride, you would have hung out a Twine Reserve as a kid? Had a look one time at all the gnammas holes when doing some work at Terrys. I will be honest I like the Motor bike rides more. Cheers
There is an assumption that you need to use a bead braking gadget every time . Some tyres will pop just by you bouncing on them . Hold onto the side of your car feet together and gently bounce and it may pop. Can save a bit of time , if not the jack is a perfect method, much better than banging some steel gadget under the rim , causing possible damage.
"slips right out" ;)
if you lose all the current from the cheap panel when partially shaded , must mean the individual panels are wired up in series.Or have i got it wrong?
Nice local ride 👍
Yes, it’s good. The Toronto raptors wone the basketball champion ship a long time ago against the 76ers
So I am looking at doing some maintenance work on my 400PRO and want to know the following: 1. Where do I get the power meter (surecom SW33)? 2. Where do I get the dummy load tester? 3. Where do I get the IC-400PRO Adjustment Software I already have the cloning/programming software and programming cable - used this for a while to program the channels etc :) Cheers - oh and great video mate :)
I'm convinced GoPro engineers never use GoPro. Why would they design the Media Mod so we have to pull it all apart every hour to change the battery?
Nice set up. Well thought out!
@JJ Adv Nice filming I used to live in Rockingham.
