    Interesting thoughts. I agree. Pixel is Google's way to showcase what Android can do. I have used both iPhone (upto and including the 15 Pro), Samsung and OnePlus. Always go back to the Pixel. Looking forward to a compact pro. The only gripe I have is the inability to customise the homescreen as much as for example Samsung. I'm not a power user so don't care too much about specs. If the pixel 9 pro isn't too big, I think it may be the perfect phone for me! Thanks for the video

    Yea something I didn’t touch on is how it feels like Google plays favorites with Samsung & they get special privilege. Not surprising since they’re a huge Android phone manufacturer but sometimes it feels like they get more love than their own Pixel phones I can’t wait for the Pixel 9 either, looking forward to the compact Pro model too Thanks for the comment 🙌🏼

    Surprised to hear that battery life hasn't been great for you. If you're using software that's being emulated it's going to take a toll on performance and battery life. I put a link in the description for Qualcomm's list of apps that are native to Windows on ARM Unfortunately if you're looking for one of the new Copilot+ Windows on ARM laptops they're more than likely all going to have this issue because the problem is lack of software support If you definitely want a Windows laptop I hear the HP Spectre x360 is good. It's running Windows on x86, I haven't used it myself though. If you don't mind using Apple, the Macbook Air is also good

    it's perfect for my use case, especially the 15'' variant with a bigger battery. I'm a software engineer, I mainly write C++, some Python scripts for AI and quick and easy stuff and some C. Office tasks get added on top of that and then some browsing the internet for documentation and recreation. When I'm not coding I like to watch videos and I'll occasionally edit the photo here and there but nothing professional. For this use case it's perfect, it's quite and will last a long time with good CPU performance for compiling code. In Alex's Ziskind test, the 13.8'' X Plus surface was the longest lasting laptop for a dev workflow period, even against Macbook airs, pros and the M2 max. I feel like the 13.8'' screen could be a little small for me though as I really like the 14.5'' 16:10 display I have atm so the 15'' might be better for me

    He made a great video! I'm glad the laptop is perfect for your work. The best thing about it is that with time it'll only be better. If you're already satisfied with the battery life & the way it handles your tasks; as Windows on ARM gets refined & devs optimize apps more, you'll be able to do other tasks that you might've not considered. I also think that I'd prefer the 13.8" over the 15" for productivity work since I can't use it for video editing Thanks for the comment!

    Good video. I think a lot of people forget that not all programs ran on Apple laptops when they switched from Intel to their own M series. It took them a couple years to finally get pretty much all apps to run, and I'm guessing it will be the same with these new ARM based Windows machines. At the end of the day, it's hard to beat an Intel based laptop if you want to do some serious work and play high-end gaming. Unfortunately, the battery isn't the best on those. Keep the videos coming and thanks again.

    @@YonnyDigital Good question. Honestly, I believe Microsoft should have really backed Intel more so than going with ARM this time around because at the end of the day, no ARM chip will ever be more powerful than an Intel or AMD paired with a 4090 GPU. Plus, every program will run, unlike on an ARM chip. This is why a lot of companies never switched over to Apple to this day. Companies really need to focus on battery optimization.

    Yes, these Snapdragon chips are misleading as battery life is poor when multitasking in high-performance mode to get the fastest results. For example, 4K video uses 14 watts alone compared to 7 in balanced mode. So for power users, battery life is around 5 hours on best performance. On balanced mode, recommended for the average consumer and probably what the vast majority will use, reviews suggest 7-8 hours at mid-brightness. So, the much-advertised battery life is nothing more than marketing. You can use the lowest performance mode, but like balanced, they reduce performance to a point where you will take ages to get anything done, like rendering. It is amazing that in 2024, you do not have one mode to optimise the chip for whatever you are doing, like Macbooks from 2020! My take is a step up from previous WOA attempts; remember, ARM on Windows has been around 8 years longer than on MacOS, but it is still trailing Apple by a long way. Saw a video (Max Tech) comparing the base M1 MB Air with 8GB and no fan versus the Surface Laptop, and it was shocking to see the MB Air match or beat the latest and greatest from MS at half the price!

  • @YonnyDigital
    @YonnyDigitalАй бұрын

    I agree. I think they have some work to do to catch up to MacBooks but I’m glad there’s competition & I hope they can close the gap more on the lead Apple has. I saw the video comparing the two & was surprised to see the results But it’s at least nice to see them have a fighting chance because we, as consumers, win in the end 😁

That 4W heat lower the avaliable power for the chip too, like the chip only can use 11W for the same 15W heat.. and that is basicly the difference between the rarely throttling and the constantly throttling which is visible in the usage too, while throttling everything a bit slower..
